..... In 5 Movie Harry gave rousing speeches like he had no problem thinking he should command kids older than him. Book Harry objected to his list of superior accomplishments saying he had help and almost died several times. And he felt akward correcting and giving instruction to others. Book Harry was very modest. Directors have ruined the character Dan plays. Hope they do better in the end.

And even if movie Harry joked, there is almost always some undrlying seriousness to what we joke about. Movie Harry never dealt with the seriouness of being chosen. Directors have denied him a lot of depth. Book Harry would've never joked. It would be like joking about your parents death.....

They only expected him to study at school. Everything dangerous he did was his choice. But in 4 he was forced to risk his life in the game. I don't think it was being self centered, it was demanding something back for all that they demanded of him. Anyone would feel the same.

@OutrageoussBoy dan's just kidding about that part.and he didn't say selfish. i think self centered and selfish may be synonymous but not exactly the same. :) it's true though that harry potter's character could be self centered at times, especially in the 7th book when he struggled so much being the chosen one and beating voldemort to the end. he thinks it's got to be him and refused help from his friends, but of course we know what's his reason for doing that. in the end he can't do it solo :)
