that's not true. many of us proudly buy music. i haven't downloaded a song illegally since 2004. And yes, there were a couple years when I did it a lot. But now I'm older, I make money, I like music, I want to support artists, so I buy stuff. I'll usually listen to streams first to make sure I'm going to like what I buy. I'd say I average about 3-4 new CD's a month, about 50 new full price albums a year. Maybe half of them I get at concerts.

Not entirely accurate.. I received a computer science degree in 2004.. Nothing I learned is "obsolete". Students need to learn things from first principles.. Then pretty much anything else is a breeze.
I graduated from IT in '04 and Law in '07, and I can tell you that I am glad my university emphasized learning how to think rather than what to think. But still I can say, few things I've learned (factual and information wise) are irrelevant. Agree that first principles will never change!
My university did the same. They stressed learning how to think and to never believe you know anything. Facts change all the time, so you should be a student for life. As soon as you believe you know something you will be passed by someone who is willing to question that fact and move things forward.

ido4444: I don't know what you're talking about because venushapp never said anybody was lying. He just said that Thegamer5150 was incorrect with his assumption that 99% of people illegally download music.
In addition, you don't need to do research to show that people buy music, since they obviously do.

Not entirely accurate.. I received a computer science degree in 2004.. Nothing I learned is "obsolete". Students need to learn things from first principles.. Then pretty much anything else is a breeze.

I graduated from IT in '04 and Law in '07, and I can tell you that I am glad my university emphasized learning how to think rather than what to think. But still I can say, few things I've learned (factual and information wise) are irrelevant. Agree that first principles will never change!

My university did the same. They stressed learning how to think and to never believe you know anything. Facts change all the time, so you should be a student for life. As soon as you believe you know something you will be passed by someone who is willing to question that fact and move things forward.
