The thing with WotLK is, that it ended the great series in the Warcraft Lore, all the rest from Cata are just some stupid side-stories trying to keep the game alive. I mean pandas, I haven't really heard much of pandas and I think there was a glympse of them in the Warcraft series aswell(just a glympse), so it's not that great of a fit. Other than that, I hope it's gonna be good.
For the tier tokens, what if there were tokens for tanks, healers, melee dps, and then ranged dps? would that work out so you are only raiding against people of similar stats to you? What are your thoughts?
So... How are hunters supposed to operate in melee combat? Everyone else can, even mages. Poorly, yes, but they -can-. But how will hunters? Punch them in the face?
@Sinnistering they wont do melee combat, thats the whole reason of the removal of the minimum range for all attacks, added hunters have disengage to put themselves at range in pvp etc anyways
100% with you with six set items - add boots and belt. Then there's two items that people can have as valor point to get the 2 pc bonus kind of default. Rest if available in raid with four different chances.
@pizpiz80 Yet wrath had (literally) millions of more players, i think wrath had several flaws but i didn't feel trapped in 3 regs for a month on my tank, i wasnt stuck healing hour long heroics growling threats of genital mutilation at the dk, nor was I in panic mode knowing 1 person's screw up = wipe. Am i saying cata was pure shit? No. saying that either were a low point is unfair, both brought good and bad equaly imo
About the token shiet.. Its sucks ass and I do not liek it atm. Mostly because the LFR doesnt like me... havent won anything and I have cleared everything every week. 2pally tokens have dropped. Completely Agree with Lore on the shoulders and head pieces only dropping from bosses, I think that all gear should be obtainable from badges. I think this would make a lot of sense, get rid of the RNG factor in terms of completing your gear.

I am no where near a hardcore raider, but the heroics only required you to learn the SIMPLE mechanics once, then you were fine. I honestly don't care that you're in a PuG group and only have 20 minutes to play a day, you shouldn't be able to earn the better gear then. Have someone take charge to label CC targets and lead. Also, you never needed to CC /: Meat-grinder ftw.
Well, let me state this. MMO's have failed. Or let me put it this way, MTS (Massive Time Sinks) have failed, of which I believe that Cata was a part of. Why? Well, when Furor is in charge, heh. Bring back WotLK, where you could drop in, get your epics and still be able to get stuff done that day. All of the other stuff does matter but to a lot lesser degree. I'm gonna end with a quote from South Park.

lol DPS meters arnt that big of a deal in PUGs what kills me in the LFR is when i'm on my druid i have like 8k hps and i'm at 90% mana because of the shams priest and pallies in the group... if i put a hot on someone 80% of those hps dont even count toward me because that sham just instantly healed for their health ... the spot heals show up more on the hps chart so get the fuck over low hps healers!
@Deadlychuck84 HPS for a healer arent anywhere nearly as important as DPS for a damage class. The druid heal style is similar to the Disc priest heal style in that you are more about damage prevention rather than direct heals. the HOTs act as more of a cushion, True, the player just took a 50k hit, but theyre getting back 8-10k every second, so it allows more time for the direct healers to get their heals off.
EPGP might work for the tier token. For evry boss you kill you get ep , and when you're on time and such. When you get loot you get GP. Ep / Gp = your priority. The one with the highest prio gets the item. Then again i don't think the universel token will work.
The Immortal was Naxx25, Ulduar did the "immortal" thing RIGHT, since it was on a boss per boss basis so if you failed on one boss you could still credit for another boss. Unless you mean it should have been that once you fail on one boss you lost your chance for the week (seriously? wha huh?)

Regarding the "Tri-Spec" question. Absaver restores your actionbars and Talented allows you to save specs. I use this to switch between many different specs (Holy PvE, PvP, Ret PvE. PvP and Prot PvE) instantly. It takes no more than 30 seconds to go to a trainer before being ready to be summoned back. The only thing I have to do is glyphs, everything else can be done using those addons.
@YepX So little that is most often not a downgrade from any ranged item you have with Strength on it, so even bothering to mention is pointless; as it is a pointless stat to have as a Warrior ever. Its much like a Retribution Paladin getting int because it increases spell damage. You just don't do it if you know any better.
Pandas. That made me decide to leave wow in the end. Were still working through heroic DS. still only 2/8. At least its an enjoyable progression. But when heroic DW goes down, weve decided to re roll rift right now unless it starts looking amazing. Although thats also doubtful. Blizzard said alot about cata. What features came with it etc, but after the troll dungeons and firelands, im like seriously? thats wat youve been working on? wow. wow indeed.

I got bored and don't plan to come back to WoW because everything is too easy and boring now without dedicating too much time to the game doing hard modes. I got a free 7 day pass in my email to give 4.3 a try and I was bored of it after the first day back. I did LFR (too easy), 10m DS (not worth the time), heroics (too easy). there doesn't seem to be anything else interesting.
Why I would LOVE to have trispec: I'm a Paladin and I use Holy as my mainspec and Retribution/Prot as my offspec. BUt there are times I need to tank with retribution offspec... The problem there is that instead of the Retri to Prot (That's 2 glyphs and a few keys on the actionbars) But Holy to Prot... That's a problem, that's pretty much all the glyphs and all the keys on the actiobars... >: Trispec would make this switch a lot easier.
I enjoyed the difficulty of Cata, but could see how others may not enjoy it. I often ran with friends and guildies which made it a bit easier when pugging :P I would LOVE to have a trispec, especially on my druid. Would make switching out specs much easier, but I wouldn't be heart broken if they didn't add it.
in wrath they didnt have all that much work to do since Nax was already in the game and the Tier gear was the same skin just different color. All the bosses are the same just some different machanics and raid size. So that is why they had plenty of time to work on Ulduar. Mists is a whole new expansion so they have a lot more work to get done in time for release.
they should do Tier kinda like what they did with T9. You can get all pieces with Valor (justice points when new tier is avaible.) But if you want the Heroic versions of the Tier, then drop and all class token from heroic boss versions. That way everyone can get their 4 set bonus if they want to. Seems like the DK, druid, etc token drops a ton and everyone in that class gets all their tokens and everyone else might get 2 of them. While dks and druids have all their main set and off spec complete
Lfr pisses me off because people who already have the tier from lfr or normal run and need on the items again for their offspec and end up winning over the people who have yet to win the token
I do 7k autoattacking+my pet on my unholy dk... spikes up to 10-12k if tentacle procs... so i dont understand how anyone can do less than that if they push at least a button or two
Dps meters aren't ruining pugs for me! It motivates people to do better, everyone has a great time joking about peoples' dps, and the ice lance spammers, heroic-strikers and auto attackers with 5k dps gets kicked, so the group can be more effective :)
Probability doesn't work that way Lore... If the raid composition is balanced for the tokens 1/3 of the raid for Vanquisher, Protector and Conqueror then it's the same having a unique token or 3 tokens, because although the chance winning one is divided by 3 the chance of dropping the ones you need is increased by 3 ---> so if we describe P as your current chance of getting a token in a balanced setup then the probability of getting a token in the new system would be [ 3 x (P/3) = P]
@Kaeldin15 This would benefit greatly 10-mans raid because no tokens would go to waste, my guild for example already had 3 Legs Protector drops (we got 2 shammys and 1 warrior) any other tokens would go to waste, while a single token drop could let us gear whoever we want, this brings the problem of gearing too fast (leaving the RNG out of it) but that already depends if you like RNG on loot or not...
@GladiatorL99 i think isd like u give imaginary money to ur raiders every time they show up to kill a boss, then they can use the dkp to get better rolls on gear they may want, i think thats how it works
@GladiatorL99 there are several variations of DKP. One of the most popular is EPGP. It is fairly simple. You have 3 different points: EP, GP, and PR. Raiders gain EP for killing bosses and/or simply attendance, depending on what the raid leader decides. GP is gained when you win loot. Your PR is your EP divided by your GP. Whoever has the highest PR wins loot rolls. The way it ends up working out is like Suicide Kings with a DKP twist.
thought on the tri and quad specs... have a page with pvp spec x2.. have a page with pve spec x2.. or however it will work... I for one change my pve dps spec to pvp spec every friday and back to pve every monday usually only for one or two bosses that I am not needed to tank... I bet i've spent 30k gold on respecs on my main raiding/pvp toon... I would really like a tri spec.. and I've been saying that for a long time.
First question, I like what Guild Wars 2 is doing with their professions, a Warrior can still use ranged weapons and skills and a Ranger can still use melee weapons and skills. Removing the weapon slots is a lazy design on Blizzards part.
Second question, I have actually seen people handling the orb get kicked from the raid simply because their DPS was lower than everyone else.
Third question, loot is always a pain, no loot system is perfect, someone will always be disappointed.
my guild has an affliction lock that pushes 12-13k.... he says hes doing the "mechanics of the fight instead of worrying about dpsing the boss". he is an officer in the guild, so as myself. I believe this guys should get kicked but the guild leader doesnt want to sense our server is beginning to become a low pop server -_-

@Hellscreamer24 I'm not sure it'll be the wow killer, but all of these things are taking chunks of WoWs playerbase. I doubt anyhting will kill WoW.... Hell the original MMO I started playing (DAoC) still has one solid server. It takes A LOT to KILL a game. WoW will be here for YEARS to come. Maybe not as popular it is now, but they'll merge servers as it gets smaller and people who want to play will always have people to play with,

@Hellscreamer24 1/2 the reason rift failed is coz it had a good 7 million blizzard fan boys, hating on it because it tried to compete with their addiction, and when those 7 million people are their targeted market, its pretty fuckn hard to market a product when even before the game has released, millions are hating on it because it is an MMO and not wow. I can agree that SWTOR wont be a wow killer, nothing will only blizz can pull the plug on wow, and that will be when they release their new mmo

Regarding the "Tri-Spec" question. Absaver restores your actionbars and Talented allows you to save specs. I use this to switch between many different specs (Holy PvE, PvP, Ret PvE. PvP and Prot PvE) instantly. It takes no more than 30 seconds to go to a trainer before being ready to be summoned back. The only thing I have to do is glyphs, everything else can be done using those addons.

@YepX So little that is most often not a downgrade from any ranged item you have with Strength on it, so even bothering to mention is pointless; as it is a pointless stat to have as a Warrior ever. Its much like a Retribution Paladin getting int because it increases spell damage. You just don't do it if you know any better.

Pandas. That made me decide to leave wow in the end. Were still working through heroic DS. still only 2/8. At least its an enjoyable progression. But when heroic DW goes down, weve decided to re roll rift right now unless it starts looking amazing. Although thats also doubtful. Blizzard said alot about cata. What features came with it etc, but after the troll dungeons and firelands, im like seriously? thats wat youve been working on? wow. wow indeed.

I got bored and don't plan to come back to WoW because everything is too easy and boring now without dedicating too much time to the game doing hard modes. I got a free 7 day pass in my email to give 4.3 a try and I was bored of it after the first day back. I did LFR (too easy), 10m DS (not worth the time), heroics (too easy). there doesn't seem to be anything else interesting.

Why I would LOVE to have trispec: I'm a Paladin and I use Holy as my mainspec and Retribution/Prot as my offspec. BUt there are times I need to tank with retribution offspec... The problem there is that instead of the Retri to Prot (That's 2 glyphs and a few keys on the actionbars) But Holy to Prot... That's a problem, that's pretty much all the glyphs and all the keys on the actiobars... >: Trispec would make this switch a lot easier.

I enjoyed the difficulty of Cata, but could see how others may not enjoy it. I often ran with friends and guildies which made it a bit easier when pugging :P I would LOVE to have a trispec, especially on my druid. Would make switching out specs much easier, but I wouldn't be heart broken if they didn't add it.

in wrath they didnt have all that much work to do since Nax was already in the game and the Tier gear was the same skin just different color. All the bosses are the same just some different machanics and raid size. So that is why they had plenty of time to work on Ulduar. Mists is a whole new expansion so they have a lot more work to get done in time for release.

they should do Tier kinda like what they did with T9. You can get all pieces with Valor (justice points when new tier is avaible.) But if you want the Heroic versions of the Tier, then drop and all class token from heroic boss versions. That way everyone can get their 4 set bonus if they want to. Seems like the DK, druid, etc token drops a ton and everyone in that class gets all their tokens and everyone else might get 2 of them. While dks and druids have all their main set and off spec complete

Dps meters aren't ruining pugs for me! It motivates people to do better, everyone has a great time joking about peoples' dps, and the ice lance spammers, heroic-strikers and auto attackers with 5k dps gets kicked, so the group can be more effective :)

Probability doesn't work that way Lore... If the raid composition is balanced for the tokens 1/3 of the raid for Vanquisher, Protector and Conqueror then it's the same having a unique token or 3 tokens, because although the chance winning one is divided by 3 the chance of dropping the ones you need is increased by 3 ---> so if we describe P as your current chance of getting a token in a balanced setup then the probability of getting a token in the new system would be [ 3 x (P/3) = P]

@Kaeldin15 This would benefit greatly 10-mans raid because no tokens would go to waste, my guild for example already had 3 Legs Protector drops (we got 2 shammys and 1 warrior) any other tokens would go to waste, while a single token drop could let us gear whoever we want, this brings the problem of gearing too fast (leaving the RNG out of it) but that already depends if you like RNG on loot or not...

@GladiatorL99 there are several variations of DKP. One of the most popular is EPGP. It is fairly simple. You have 3 different points: EP, GP, and PR. Raiders gain EP for killing bosses and/or simply attendance, depending on what the raid leader decides. GP is gained when you win loot. Your PR is your EP divided by your GP. Whoever has the highest PR wins loot rolls. The way it ends up working out is like Suicide Kings with a DKP twist.

thought on the tri and quad specs... have a page with pvp spec x2.. have a page with pve spec x2.. or however it will work... I for one change my pve dps spec to pvp spec every friday and back to pve every monday usually only for one or two bosses that I am not needed to tank... I bet i've spent 30k gold on respecs on my main raiding/pvp toon... I would really like a tri spec.. and I've been saying that for a long time.

First question, I like what Guild Wars 2 is doing with their professions, a Warrior can still use ranged weapons and skills and a Ranger can still use melee weapons and skills. Removing the weapon slots is a lazy design on Blizzards part.
Second question, I have actually seen people handling the orb get kicked from the raid simply because their DPS was lower than everyone else.
Third question, loot is always a pain, no loot system is perfect, someone will always be disappointed.

my guild has an affliction lock that pushes 12-13k.... he says hes doing the "mechanics of the fight instead of worrying about dpsing the boss". he is an officer in the guild, so as myself. I believe this guys should get kicked but the guild leader doesnt want to sense our server is beginning to become a low pop server -_-

To me its not a big deal killing Deathwing or what not. I just want to have fun with friends while doing sth that is entertaining and right now wow isnt that entertaining. The fact that im watching wow related videos just means i havent given up hope on the game.
