agree but. romance and mystery are two powerful worlds that explains drama. Mystery is; what is it? and romance is; who's love is the strongest? There must be some words to get americans interest in this movie.
you are both so correct. Unfortunately american movie industry works with tags, prefabricated terms and standards... fortuately Kieslowski didn't work like this, he just followed his heart and ideas and fortunately he turned his back to the american industry
I LOVE kryzstof Kieslowski's films especially in his later years like this one. He's absolutely brilliant, visionary... his films are poetically crafted and philosophical. His characters are so well selected for their mesmerizing, thoughtful, unique beauty. and the cinematography is wonderful and artistic. Bravo, Kryzstof! I fell in love at first sight with his films when i first watched "Red" my first year in college.
Love the film, love the music... but the voiceover on this trailer is annoying. It's an American thing, I'm sure.. How to make a film lose much of its mystique in one fell swoop..
In the UK it would never have such a voiceover.. I saw the US trailer for Amelie a while.."She was little girl in a world that didn't understand her".. etc.. :((

Mr Kieslowski's "Blue" and "The Double Life of Véronique" are two extraordinary movies that have haunted me since I watched them.

Czy amerykanie/angole muszą do każdego filmu przypiac łatkę : romans, tajemnica?

I agree. While still a magical and an enchanting work, the voice over and tag-lines are not needed.

Romance? I don't think so.

i don't know who created this English trailer, but "romance" and "mystery"?
...sigh
... the american film industry.
floatingweeds 4 years ago 41
my thought exactly. They just HAVE to tag "romance", "sexy", "mysterious" to EVERY film. I tend to avoid English trailers as a result.

O voi che siete in piccioletta barca,
desiderosi d'ascoltar, seguiti
dietro al mio legno che cantando varca,
non vi mettete in pelago, ché forse,
perdendo me, rimarreste smarriti.
L'acqua ch'io prendo già mai non si corse;
Minerva spira, e conducemi Appollo,
e nove Muse mi dimostran l'Orse.
el mejor film de todos los tiempos.
