  • maybe you should do a thrash LOAF lesson :P

  • kewl

  • ANOTHER OIL SPILL!!

  • you look like Mille from Kreator

  • nice guitars lml

  • with the most odd vocals for metal, strangely, always loved Nuclear assault. Killer riffs, and double bass.

  • c'est bon ton riff c'est pas non plus holy wars

  • You dude when are you starting the Death Metal and Grindcore lessons?

  • @666jony666 As soon as I can. I get tons of requests and unfortunately have very little time. \m/

  • and i love you carvin ultra v more ^^ !!

  • @arrackattack The V was a steal $350 \m/

  • @ShredGuitarAcademy thanks for the replys, anyway you have a very good taste of guitar !! in my opinion !

  • @ShredGuitarAcademy woow 350 us$? I mean i m french, and the cheapest opportunity i seen was a v without the kahler for 700/800 € !!

  • i love your washburn in the backgroung, with the washburn wonderbar/shift 2001 !!! how much it cost to you ??? the wonderb stay in tune ??

  • @arrackattack Sorry for the late reply. It does but I never use it, so I don't know what it's like if you are diving with it all the time. I think I paid around $600 for that guitar \m/

  • This is just awesome, lessons on songs like these. Keep on this work dude!

    HAIL THRASH METAL

  • hey u should have volume of amp lil higher and u should show how to play that lil riff at end of video thnx bro btw do u have a face book...and also i like that guitar

  • one question are you in a band?

  • your right hand technique is like paul gilbert

  • i dont know why but you looks like a vampire^^

  • Man, i was hoping for the intro to this song

  • that was really helpful, thanks a lot

  • WOW!!! Thanx a bunch for the old school lesson, keep em coming please!!!!

  • This... is pure awesome. Thanks for sharing!

  • I really hope that you will demonstrate the riffs in Kreator's ''No Trust''.

  • NUKE EM ALL

  • Dude, what brand of strings are those?

  • @DystopianEmpire01 Don't remember. Daddario or Dean Markley. 10-52 They were a bit more slack than I'm used to because I don't usually tune down to Eb.

  • @ShredGuitarAcademy Ok, thanx. I don't do hex core strings, too much buzz and rattle and they never play in close enough tune to suit me.

  • what brand is hat v...man you do pick hard i do as well my band members are always yellin for me to not go so hard but i can't help it...you need to put your bands videos up man i wanna see you rock out!!!!!!

  • @yourmotherlovesme132 It's a first year '87 Carvin Ultra V. Keep playing hard and tell your band members that it's metal and if they want it softer to go play for Spandau Ballet. \m/ If you want to see any of my band stuff just check out the links at the main Shred Guitar Academy channel to the Official Muscle Bitches channel(bass & a bit of vocals) or Official Anatolian Wisdom (Guitar & probably soon to be lead if all works out as we are currently singer-less)

  • @ShredGuitarAcademy sweet i will be sure to

  • I can't tell, but does that Ultra V have a Kahler trem on it? If so, which do you prefer the Kahler or the OFR trems? Thanks.

    - Wulf

  • @LycanthropicArt Yup it's a Kahler. I think they are both great and both have their issues. Personally I mainly prefer fixed bridges. Most of the trems on my guitars are locked. Which may seem a waste. I think I have four Kahlers and three Floyds that are locked. The only Floyd set up for use is on my Charvel. It's nice to have 1 guitar for bar stuff but all trems in my opinion heavily compromise tone especially if you pick hard & I just don't do enough bar stuff to make the compromise worth it.

  • poor strings!!

  • love all your vids!!!!!

can you tell me what metal axe without tremolo i should take?

    thx

    and check out my channel^^

  • @BlackIbanezPower schecter man or esp

  • @yourmotherlovesme132

what do you think about bc rich beast v?

  • @BlackIbanezPower Most BC Rich Guitars aren't very good quality these days from what I've seen. In the early 80's they were amazing. But it really depends on your budget. You aren't going to get super high quality for a few hundred dollars unless you go used and really know what to look for. It's a wise decision to go for a fixed bridge. They are much less expensive and usually sound a lot better. \m/

  • @ShredGuitarAcademy

jeah, but i got a bc rich warbeast wmd for 600 $ and i sounds verry crappy

i thought to buying now a jackson pdx

but it has a floyd rose and dont want any tremolo

you know a good guitar without tremolo?

    max.600$

  • @BlackIbanezPower you cn buy an ibanez for pretty decent money some come with double locking bridge and no tremelo i'm gettin the mich thompson sig. soon--costs 650, but esp and jackson are also very very nice it's whatever guitar fits you best

  • @yourmotherlovesme132

    thx for anwer

what do you think about the bc rich draco?

or this is really awsome: Ibanez Xh300 look at this,it looks great

  • @BlackIbanezPower dude i think all bc riches are a waste of money they aren't made like they use to sad really, i couldn't find it i loked on three sites but i saw ones that were lookin like an explorer or a kelly from jackson if this is what your talkin about then cool man not really my thing i love v's and stuff but good luck findin 1 if you get a jackson your ganna wanna get new pickups i think

  • @yourmotherlovesme132

    ok

what do you think about Dean Razorback?

    orESP LTD EX-50

and sry for alls this questions^^

    thx for taking your time^^

  • @BlackIbanezPower hmm i don't really like deans but there are a few expensive nice ones, that esp is sick man but ya know it's up to you on what guitar you need, what kind of metal do you like to play

  • @yourmotherlovesme132

what for guitars do you have?

  • @BlackIbanezPower i'm curoiuse on what metal to see what genres people are in, i have a jackson js23 first eletric i bought, jackson king v i think js32, about to get a used fender telecaster and that ibanez...and my crappy yamaha acoustic i got when i was 15 what about you man

  • @yourmotherlovesme132

    i have ibanez grg170dx

and my crappy bc rich warbeast wmd^^

  • @BlackIbanezPower you in a band?

  • @yourmotherlovesme132

    hmmm,our band isnt finsh yet:(

we are 2 guitarist and a drummer

we are looking for a singer and bassist:)

  • @BlackIbanezPower Man I don't know. Just whatever you like. It's a pretty personal thing. Try lots out. \m/

  • good riff, thank for the lesson

  • Thanks man took me bout 5 mins to learn a great rift has an awesome sound to it :)

  • @djerwulfe not weird, read his description, classic thrash riff lesson, you took my comment wrong,i just watch this for entertainment, ive played thrash for 23 yrs,im very good at it,i dont need to be taught the ins and out,i dont know everything on guitar either,im no steve vai,but i bet i could thash better than vai lol,i didnt nmean my comment to sound arrogent,i just meant i dont care to take playing any further, its all hobby to me now not career,i like these vids though fun to watch!

  • is this played in drop D tuning??!?! please help

  • @TheGreendude0 He said in the very beginning that it's tuned to E flat. Just tune down one 1/2 step.

  • @TheGreendude0 No it's in Eb

  • your tone just blows me away, you have serious guitar skills. keep it up \m/

  • Hello, good lesson for newcomers, I would say. Palm muting with some two string power chords. What I cannot to keep to myself and I see it in your another video is the style how you smash the strings. Oh man, why so hard? Now I know, why someone has strings for only a week and they are dead, while I can play on them for many months. I wouls also say, that if you wanna play something like Slayer stuff, you surely have to be lighter to the strings for that speed. In your case, maybe I am wrong.

  • @WakizashiSabre It's easier to play softly but I don't think it sounds as good. I imagine you will break strings more often but I don't think it makes them die quicker. I believe in playing everything that way. I've never learned much Slayer but I play in a band that is significantly faster and heavier than Slayer and I try to play everything at a certain level of aggressiveness of attack. I play everything the exact way I want it to sound - even if that makes it more difficult to do. \m/

  • @WakizashiSabre Hello, thanks for the response, but I would ask, how is the tremolo picking then? I have seen you are using a bid different technique for that, but I did not find a tutorial, how you do that. Thanks.

  • @WakizashiSabre I haven't done a lesson on that yet. It's on it's way at some point. \m/

  • Awesome song, great band!

  • If ur gonna do thrash lessons can u do skull fracturing nightmare by demolition hammer

  • Fuck yes Nuclear Assault. Any possibility on doing Brainwashed.

  • That looks fun to play.

  • Good stuff.

  • nice venom tat

  • That's kinda cool and easy too!

  • Nice lesson and a great riff. The intros of each lesson at ShredGuitarAcademy are also awesome. Perhaps you could also teach some of them. And since you composed them, could you also give people an insight on how you right your licks/riffs? That would be awesome learning.

  • @anshumanchaube95 I definitely plan to. Unfortunately I'm not really making any $bucks$ with the YouTube thing yet. To date I've had a grand total of one $5 donation. The plan is to teach privately less and make this my full time job but until that happens it difficult to put the time into it that I would like to. Usually when I make a new video I'm up all night doing it because it's the only time I have available. You may notice I look a little tired in most of the intros ;)

  • @ShredGuitarAcademy Ahh. Them ungrateful bitches. Just 5$? Just wait till I start earning. I'll definitely donate something sizable from my first pay. Honestly. :-D

  • Comment removed

  • @anshumanchaube95 Thanks my friend. Ya the donation thing isn't working too well so I'm gonna have to figure something else out. I'll always put up free lessons but I'll have to charge for some eventually. It's sad because I haven't even barely scratched the surface of what I could be teaching people because I don't have time. If every one of my subscribers sent me $1 a month I could quit my job, do this full time and be posting 1-2 videos per day instead of an average of 1 every few weeks. \m/

  • Great vid! Thanks man!

Also... seeing (hearing) lots of fretbuzz kinda relieved me. If a pro like you doesn't give a damn about it. So I guess it's ok =) Strings on my guitar buzz somewhat like in this vid.

The only concern - it's still noticeable on a record right?

  • @TehGureedo It shouldn't really be noticeable on a record, it depends how you record it. If you have the mic positioned properly in front of the speaker cone, and your guitar is not too close to the mic, you should be fine. :)

  • @TehGureedo I haven't had a chance to get it set up since I added it to the collection 6 months ago. It's over twenty years old & I'm sure needs a lot of work. I would never use it on a record without some serious work done first. Adding to the buzz is the fact I had to tune down for this making the strings a lot more slack than I'm used to. But in some ways it adds to the harshness of the character. Perfect clear quality doesn't always need to be priority. If your ears like it. It is good. \m/

  • really nice tone, man! got that 'classic metal' tone, if that term applies here.

  • @aleksandersucharski Thanks, and I believe it does! I'm rockin one of my two first year '87 Carvin Ultra V's through my little Crate practice amp into my 80's Carvin 4x12 Cab for maximum Thashocity! \m/

  • @MetalRiffAcademy though i dont need lessons anymore i love watching this stuff, its nice to see others techniques great playing dude, thanks for posting!

  • @MetalRiffAcademy You need to have a custom amp built like mine. I had a friend of mine build it after telling him I wanted something like the Mesa Boogie Jimi Hendrix used to play. He did the research and built one using GS12 tubes and a very large transformer that gives it that hotrod sound. He used an MTX cranker 12" subwoofer I had that needed repair, and modified it a little as well. Run it dry or mixed out the back of a solid state amp, like my peavey chorus212, and the sound it monstrous.

  • @akonitony2 Never heard of Hendrix using Mesa Boogie. In the early years '65-'66 he used a Fender Twin Reverb. He looked at Orange but could not get the sound he wanted. For 99 percent of the time He used Marshall.

  • @quigsss557 You know something? You're right! But that desn't change the fact I was wrong but still got this frankenstein amp built that sounds like crap by itself, but is amazingly awakened when I run it's input from the back of my Peavey Chorus 212. I don't know where I heard the story, which was about 15 years ago, but that is what I told the friend of mine, and he built it from there. Hendrix also used Sunn amps for a little over a year, from what I understand.

  • @akonitony2 Frankenstein amp, I like that. I just had a Baron Custom Amp built. Killer sound. Will be running it with two 4x12 Vader cabs, the three chords I know should sound great!! It seems the older I get the heavier the music. Mom had me listening to the Beatles, now I'm listening to Dying Fetus!! At 47!!! If your still into metal give Baron Amps a listen. I saw your video with the snake eating from your hand, cool!!

  • @quigsss557 Thanks man, she's grown to about twice the size she was in that video in the last month. I'll try an post some videos of my big snakes eating. I've got some full-grown Paraguay yellow-tail cribos that will pack in 5 chicks at a feeding.

  • @akonitony2 Was mesa on the market in the 60's-70's? I never seen or read any thing on Jimi playing mesa

  • @MetalRiffAcademy I've got a DC200 Koa from that era. I had a black standard DC200 I bought when I was 16 after saving for it all summer, but I had to pawn it after a motocycle accident in 1997 left me unemployed for almost 2 years. I bought the Koa model off ebay at about half it's original price because it had a small dent in the front. I figure we're both beat up a little, but that isn't any reason to quit.

  • "Nucular"

  • @KaptnJolly George Bush style. Nice! ;) \m/
