I think this exactly qualifies as pretentious art..

It's a cool effect of how our brain interprets certain things , but describing it as "none hits louder than T,O,U,C,H,I,N,G,. an angry and demonic piece that simultaneously lulls you into awareness and hypnotizes you into an emotive overload." is quite, well, retarded.

Anyhow, yes, it's much more powerful as a 16mm film, and you should probably see it like that. The strobe lights will drive you mad.

You hit the nail on the head there, and that's what makes this film interesting. It's not the visuals - those get boring quick. Instead it's how a word, repeated over and over again loses its intrinsic value as a word and becomes a sound that's open to interpretation - an auditory Rorschach Test, just like when people played records backwards and claimed there were 'satanic' messages there. They, too, heard what they wanted/were told to hear.

I thought mine was funny, though.

It uses many of the strategies characteristic of the structural film movement, including a static frame, flicker effects, flash frames and continual audio and visual repetition. The audio track consists exclusively of the filmmaker uttering the word "destroy" over and over until the word begins to lose its meaning and creates the impression of different combinations of words being spoken.
