@petris112 Do you mean 5DF? That's the Five Degrees of Freedom Chair-
This trainer allows astronauts to move in five different directions:
# Forward and backward
# Roll
# Yaw
# Side-to-Side
# Pitch
The 5DF runs on air bearings to simulate the frictionless environment of space. It also demonstrates Sir Isaac Newton’s Third Law of Motion: For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
IM GOING NEXT YEAR IN JUNE, IM FROM ARGENTINA AND IM GOING ALL THE WAY TO THE USA TO GO THERE IT WILL BE SO MUCH FUN!!, I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS: DOES A LOT OF PEOPLE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES GO OR JUST FROM THE STATES?
I'm 14 and I would LOVE to go this summer! I don't know which program I would chose though, both sound awesome. I was wondering if you need any special knowledge about space, aviation or whatever before you go. Or can you just go and learn as you go along? Either way, sounds great!
What is it like for adults? Does the adult program use the same equipment as the kids? I am a really hardcore space fan and I was considering space camp to get a detailed experiance. I'm 21 but videos like this with the kiddie theme kinda turn me off. I am looking for a hardcore sim experience. Do you guys think space camp will be right for me if I am expecting a more serious tone? I understand it has to appeal to everyone including kids however I have not seen anything on the adult program.
Both camps are great - I guess the question for you is - are you more interested in space exploration, shuttle systems and life on board the space station - or - aviation, survival, and piloting fighter aircraft!
Check out Advanced Space Academy for 15-18 year olds!
During this weeklong program, trainees get hands-on training, as well as learn about the mental, emotional and physical demands astronauts must face. Fields of study include Engineering, Space Technology and Aerospace Science
We have an exciting day camp program this summer that your son could attend- There are Expedition Camp, Space Camp and Aviation Challenge sessions available for kids 7&8 and others for kids 9 to 11. Next year, when he turns 9, we'd love to see him in our Space Camp 3 or 6 day camp, where teamwork, self-confidence and communication will be achieved through state-of-the-art simulations, missions, rocket building and robotics. For more information check out our website!

Yes, friends can register for Space Camp as long as there is availability.

Oi, I went there last summer, june '09. It's amazing! You'll love it!
You don't need ANY knowledge to go there, I had a little bit because I watched the movie "Space Camp" about a billion times haha,
I did the actual space camp! I'm 14 years old, too! I want to go again this year, my mom might let me ;) Maybe I'll see you!
