  • I want this to play at my funeral!!

  • Sometimes we just have to let things and people go so that we can be all that we can be and be the best that we can be. "Think if terms of bridges burned. Think of seasons that must end. See the rivers rise and fall. They will rise and fall again. Everything must have an end like an ocean to a shore, like a river to a stream"

  • @TheBatPan If you only knew how much this comment is true for me today. Thanks for reminding me. God bless you.

  • what Dylan Thomas is to the world of poetry....Seger is to Rock

    seamless brilliance

  • I love this song, always have. When my mother passed away on March 31, 2007 from COPD and Type 2 Diabetes, I played this song consistently for weeks after at my record store job and would crack open a bottle of water/can of soda (since I don't drink) to toast to my mom (I miss and love you very much). My mother was a Bob Seger fan and had many of his albums (including Stranger in Town) so I grew up liking Bob. This was probably the best album closer he ever made.

  • Love the song; soundtrack of the demise of my marriage...sad, beautiful tragic song.

  • Love the song as well...thought I was the only one who related the song to the demise of my marriage...sad, tragic but so true. Nobody can tell my life story as well as Seger. The man "rules". After getting past the anger, hurt, and feeling of betrayal I found "Against the Wind" to summarize the time of that marriage; as well as finding comfort in knowing that love existed; there were good times and good memories. It was not all in vain.

  • This is my all time favorite Bob Seeger song; it can make me cry, joyful and fully involved in the words and music. Have always been a Seeger fan but this by far my fav song on my overall favorite songs throughout the past 30 yrs.

  • Love this song. Reminds me of working behind the scenes on musicals in high school. This was always played on the final night as the warm up song.
