Sometimes we just have to let things and people go so that we can be all that we can be and be the best that we can be. "Think if terms of bridges burned. Think of seasons that must end. See the rivers rise and fall. They will rise and fall again. Everything must have an end like an ocean to a shore, like a river to a stream"
my husband is soon to lose his battle with Cancer. Funny how we used to just loved this song years ago. When we were kids, not a care in the world. And now how real the words become, God Bless you and yours.
Wonderful to know that someone your age listens to Seger and really can appreciate and relate to his music. Keep the man on top as we watch "real music" carry on through future generations. I'm so glad you enjoy his music and actually have the courage to make this post. LOL ... "Rock n Roll Never Forgets".
Love the song as well...thought I was the only one who related the song to the demise of my marriage...sad, tragic but so true. Nobody can tell my life story as well as Seger. The man "rules". After getting past the anger, hurt, and feeling of betrayal I found "Against the Wind" to summarize the time of that marriage; as well as finding comfort in knowing that love existed; there were good times and good memories. It was not all in vain.
radio isn't about great songs.. it's all about........well ya know.... This is a great one...be glad it's not on radio.... Think about that for a minute.....
wow beautiful pics. to agreat song I also graduated in 81 north high Indians combined with their rivals the bull dogs to become the patriots but our final game we beat the dogs and our final song was the famous final scene. so go North.
My hero and master poet, I never get tired of this song and the older I get the more meaningful it is.......even a train stops, as my dear old Mom used to say may she rip. She would now be l03 yo.

This is my all time favorite Bob Seeger song; it can make me cry, joyful and fully involved in the words and music. Have always been a Seeger fan but this by far my fav song on my overall favorite songs throughout the past 30 yrs.
This has been the best song for years in my book, good scene pictures that go with the song on here, great job... It took me a long time to find this song, so I saved it finally... thanks for sharing it :0)
I want this to play at my funeral!!

Love this song. Reminds me of working behind the scenes on musicals in high school. This was always played on the final night as the warm up song.
Always loved Seger's voice. Very direct and unpretentious.
