The second SCART is very welcome for people like me that want to keep a lot of standard definition devices from the previous era still connected up like PS2s, VCRs (still no easier way to record than with good old videotape) and older region hacked DVD players.
Just got 55c7000... Fabulous screen, good 3G.. Bought as a package with blue ray player... And I just can't stopped. Looking at it... Totally one of my best buy I made!!!!
@MrIrishlogic AMEN TO THAT! I'm planning on buying a new tv this year, possibly this C8000 model.... but I could care LESS about 3D. I'm just looking for kick ass LED picture quality. I hate all the techie kids who get into the latest friggin gadgets and all that shit... fuck that... there's more to life, kiddies. Go outside, read a book, do SOMETHING besides watch TV and play video games. There's a whole world out there in 3D... take advantage of THAT....
@JManMin The phrase is supposed to be written, "I couldn't care less…" You should take your own advice and begin reading a few books, such as an English grammar manual.
@TomZentra I think you'll find JManMin is from the other side of the pond, where they say "I could care less". Illogical maybe, but that's the way they say it. Maybe you should read an American grammar manual! :) The British term "The exception proves the rule" is similarly nonsensical, until you realise (with an "s") it is the Scottish use of "prove", meaning "to test". As in "proven in battle". Usage becomes the primary authority in language "Dude"!
@MrIrishlogic What about the people that upgraded to HD TV when it first became available or who are upgrading from a lower quality set. Maybe they are at the end of their refresh cycle and actually due a new TV now.
@WhichWebsite I have still got my tv from 1997. I won't replace it unless it breaks down. Of course i had to buy a digital set up box to pick up digital tv. My dream set tv will be a OLED 3D with HD Freeview. I am going to wait a couple of years so the price will be reduced before buying one.
@Scrabbler27 Our TV expert still had a CRT TV until this year. He didn't see the point in replacing it when the picture quality was still better than many of the top of the line flat screens.
when i first saw the add for this, they didn't said that the glasses would be needed, in that case, can't just any TV receive a 3D signal and play it? That way we would just need to buy the glasses and not the whole tv!
@rfranquinho I'm afraid you do need the TV. The glasses work with the TV to show one image at a time to either eye. The TV and glasses have to be synchronised as this happens 50 times per second so it is the TV that controls the glasses. It also needs lots of different processing from normal TVs to make sure the 3D image is displayed correctly
I check out the samsung C7000 at conns watching monsters and aliens in 3D it looks good evening though u have to wait on some parts of the movie to get that 3D effect but I'm still not sold on watching regular tv in 3D to me only sports(boxing, mma, basketball and football),video games, action and horror blu rays movies is worth watching in 3D. If you're planning to get a 3D tv I recommend u to watch (Final Destination and My bloody valentine) first cause those movies alot of 3D effects
The tech is impressive but hard to compare with the cinema. In terms of visual impact there's no comparison.
2D to 3D looked better than we thought it would but we haven't tested these TVs in the lab yet and haven't seen a demo of 2D to 3D on any other set. To give a proper verdict we'll watch 3DTVs from all the major brands sat side-by-side. We'll choose footage ourselves specifically to highlight issues, use the same quality source signal, a panel of five expert viewers and cover up the brands
Nice TV, but why say it is 55 inches? Can't be more than 40. Also any issues with flashlighting (light leakage in the corners)? That seems to be the biggest complaint.
Our tests are comparative so and we purchase all the sets we use so we will have to wait until several of them are on sale before we can do any meaningful testing. We'll be making a big splash when we do so keep tuned.
I have a feeling LG will kick butt. Only because, their will dominate the competition with their Full LED array and Local dimming. + 480hz. Contrast is said to be at 9 million to 1, along with 2ms response. Doubt samsung's gona hold water near that. Edge LED sucks now I think.

When you say there's no comparison in terms of visual impact, is because the screen size ?

But any idea when you guys will be testing all the tv's?
