  • Professor of the world.

  • If the rotation of the earth and the speed and time it takes for the earth to circumnavigate the sun were taken into consideration isn't this doctrine redundant. The brick was actually moving through space before he touched it.

  • that is some move of a brick, 5 meters in 2 seconds.

  • yep sorry should have watch the whole video first.

  • hang on wont that be 5meters to the right? 2:45

  • Thank you!

  • Thank U Guys, This Really Helps For So Dummies Like Me=))

  • @kronos199 totally know wat u mean :)

  • I've been schooled!

  • Asked the professor a question and he replied with "you should know this.. if no one answers I will leave and not teach!" and it was just stressful. I am bad at math and my confidence is at the all time low when it comes to academics. -_- Thanks SO MUCH for this video. You explain things well and its really easy to understand. Its nice having someone explain things without telling me im stupid while they're at it..

  • y does green look yellow?

  • @cod4lfe Because he inverts the colors.

  • now theres hope for me to pass physics :D

  • Can anyone tell me what program and equipments he was using when he was teaching on this video?

The tools he used to write to be more specific.

  • I want your penmanship! Bahahaha! :p

  • First i would like to thank you for putting all of the videos up,

the problem i have is they help me only with 2 problems in my book because they are so simplified, your explanations are really clear but they don't actually help me solve allot of things. my problems look like this:

A wet bar of soap slides freely down a ramp 9m long inclined at 8 deg. how long does it take to get to the bottom. kinetic friction coefficient is .06

And this is a simple one i know it involves newtons eqs and force

  • Dear Salman, do you realize how amazing it is that you use DARK backgrounds AND color-coding? Do you? Dark background = Easy to read. Color-coding = easy to chunk information and make sense of it. Thank you VERY much for your work!!

  • thnx to you I just might graduate colledge ;D

  • I Like to Learn!!

  • Hey, guys can anyone please explain to me,does khanacademy cover the basic secondary and primary education for physics, biology and chemistry. such that i can follow and learn all the videos in a sistamatic order.

  • @MrBloghog I'm in year 10 and I'm watching this, it probably covers everything from basics. Just watch it, you'll still learn something.

  • You helped me get through my PreCal class and I foresee you helping get me through my Physics class, so thanks for that. :-)

  • this guy looks like a serious god when it comes to writing on paint.

  • :) My mom came up to me and yelled at me for watching videos when im supposed to be doing homework..boy was she dumbfounded.

  • i loved it , thanks sir

  • My professor doesn't distinguish between the magnitude of a vector and the vector itself and it drives me crazy!

  • AP Phsyics with Sully Wooooooooh!

  • This is my homework.

Best thing ever. Too bad my math teachers haven't caught up on this, lol.

  • yah..5 meters to the right..hehe

  • Thank you for your helping me with Math last summer, Sal. This year our Math is even harder, but our teacher is just as amazing, so I won't be needing your help there anymore.

But now... Physics. THIS teacher is the WORST teacher I've ever had the misfortune of meeting. So I'm here now.

    Thanks again, Sal.

  • que idiota jose arturo

  • @Arturitin16 tu te PASA.

  • @Arturitin16 Nadamas tu, Jose Arturo -.-

  • Khan Academy is such a good help at physics.

  • it's my fresh man year of high school, and this is my homework......:)

  • @powerfuldude12 best homework ever just watch a vid

  • @romaniankid24 it's a pretty good video, flew through the reading, now i'm just chillin' haha

  • electrolysis?? DX

  • how can we donate to this guy? he's done way too much for many people already.

  • @hvhfyjtdhf He really has...

  • The hell? This guy does all of the calculus, physics, and astronomy videos. He's hardcore and has some serious dedication. Excellent videos

  • the last part of the video :

speed (how fast something is going) with direction = velocity

speed (how fast something is going) without direction = speed

    I hope that helps.

  • An easy way to remember it is is that Velocity and Vectors, who both contain directions, both begin with the letter "V"; Scalars and Speed, who do not contain a specified direction, both begin with the letter "S". Hope that clears any confusion with them. :D

  • How do you have such a nice penmanship using a computer?

  • PLEASE BE MY TEACHER!!

  • I like the idea of adding CS, But a Virtual Training Jacket Or Certificates that you could print would be awesome. This would be Invaluable to Those without access to Traditional Education. If you would like to see the A.C.E. consider KA send an E-mail to: comments@ace.nche.edu

  • Please keep releasing videos on physics topics. I'm taking AP Physics next year and this is part of my summer assignments. Not only do I need this information now, but I will need it even more when school starts.

  • i hope u do more videos on thermodynamics

  • Your online courses are awesome.

I am also waiting for tensors!

  • SteDeRaver... math isn't about just types or operations, its about conditioning the mind on how to think. Once you achieve that you then have the tools to get that physics degree. Good luck and stick to it.

  • @darkaegisagain Thanks man. I will!

  • If I may make an argument here:

time is the 4th demention, thus, a direction

so wouldnt 5m in 2s be a vector because it is indicating it traveled 5 meters (size) in 2 seconds (direction in time, positive)

Just a thought there, let me know.

  • @xxvelgaxx time is not the 4th dimension. it is deeply intertwined into the definition of a "dimension."

do a youtube search for carl sagan 4th dimension.

  • THX DR SAL!!!

  • This video could be very confusing to programmers, computer scientists, and those studying linear algebra. Almost deserves a disclaimer since the examples here are so specific to physics. The terms "vector" and "scalar" can have very different meaning (though isomorphic, but in an abstract sense) depending on whether we're talking CS, Math (depending on the abstract algebra in question), or Physics... even within those fields they can be ambiguous terms.

  • Khan probably gets any chick he wants. From how gangster he is with intelligence.

  • It soo clear now:

    "V"ector - "V"elocity

    "S"calar - "S"peed

    Thanks

  • im 1 step closer to an A***********

  • im crying. you just upload this.

my final exam 2 weeks ago had so much of these on it, and it total bombed it :(

    thanks for posting anyways

  • I suck at math. But with your help, over the summer I'm going to improve my game big time. Watch out Physics degree, here I come.

  • @SteDeRaver How are you going with the physics degree?

What sort of stuff are you learning?

  • @SteDeRaver getting a physics degree... but you're not good at math? then why the fuck are u getting a physics degree?!

  • @purplehaze216 Thanks for the encouragement and positive thinking, that's great...

I want to do Physics because I am interested in it and it will be a challenge for me.

    Simply: Because it's there.

  • @SteDeRaver It is the day before school starts again. I'm only now watching these videos.

    I'M SCREWED :D

  • @SteDeRaver U suck at math and your trying to get a physics degree.... haha.

  • @cadmiumdestruction My grades so far in college have been above the class average in both maths and physics. Still funny?

  • @SteDeRaver if you suck at math physics is not for you.

  • @rooksman64 Did you even read the comment? I've been practicing. On my last 2 maths exams the average grade for the year was failure. I passed.

  • we want tensors!
