  • when r u gonna do a new video?

  • old bus! It even still has a manual gearbox!

  • @Globus601 Hi, thanks for comment, it's a 1965 registration so not that old, also it has a semi automatic gear box, you have to move the selector lever but there are only two pedals.

    Regards,

    Michael

  • heya mate, i am just wondering if i can use the sound from this video for my audio book class progect, ( odly for the engine of a armoured personal carrier ) ill give full credit to you, altough the sound from that buetifull engine will be modified slightly.

  • @spodface12 Hi,Just seen your message, yes use the audio, just give me a credit and a link to my youtube channel.

    Cheers.

    Michael

  • Excellent video. Lovely sound of the av690 engine and excellent gearchanges. A proper driver. More videos please! Especially in towns where there lots of gearchanges!

  • Great video, I take this route on a regular basis :)

  • @lukeosborne

Hi Luke, thanks for comment, where do you go to and from? I will be going that way on Tuesday all being well.

    Michael

  • WOW! lovely rural view. I enjoyed your video, made me feel as I were really 'there', though I'm typing this all the way in Irish town, Jamaica.

  • would i be right in guessing from what people have said, that its an RMC in original spec??

  • @kev1973

Hi Kev, you are nearly right, it is in fact an RCL in original spec, it's one of 3 left in original colour and one of 2 with original spec engine, the others are; RCL 2219 in BAMMOT (AEC AV590 9.6 litre engine) + RCL 2229 in London Transport Collection at Acton (AEC AV690 11.3 litre engine).

    Cheers for comment. Michael

  • Nice one. Good video quality, good sound quality, nice bus, and nice scenery! Would loved to have been there and just watched the country roll by!

  • Love it!!! thats the way a video should be taken,no edits just let it roll, so people like me can sit back in our meaningless shithole of a life and allmost believe that we're "there" sitting in the bus watching the country pass by.

  • @granitesfoot

Hey, thanks for this comment, I believe that's what youube should be, not covered in badly mixed music. Check out my other uploads. Michael

  • I`m a musician ... this video is awesome and for me .... music to my ears...always wanted to visit England ... Thumbs up !!

  • @nairdanitsua

Hey, cheers for you comment, let me know when you come, if we're about you come for a ride.

    Michael

  • Excellent, but my only complaint about the soundtrack is that for obvious reasons owners/ drivers of preserved vehicles do not 'slam' the gears like regular drivers used to in service!

  • @johno4521

As a former Routemaster driver, I can asure you that you didn`t "slam" through the gear changes, for to do so would have annoyed the conductor, and he wouldn`t buy you a tea and a cake at meal break.

  • @johno4521 i love the soundtrack ...music to my ears !!

  • What's the little knob on the side of the steering wheel for? Is it some sort of semi-automatic gear selector?

  • @timsimmk

If it`s the thing the driver is playing with, then it`s the gear change for the semi automatic box. Central area buses were used as full automatics by leaving the changer in 4th. There is also a little knob ny the changer, which has to be pulled out to select reverse

  • oi! whatever happened to the rule "keep right" when driving?

  • this video almost remind me of Jamaica

  • I really enjoyed your Routemaster front seat ride, thank you. I would know the sound of an RT or an RM blindfolded.

  • And i thought Romanian roads are tight...

  • I like this video.

  • Hi M And I It sounds lovely just right!!! My turn within the next year hopefully! K

  • M & I, it sounds just ight what a lovely beast!!

    K

  • Did thay have P. A . S

  • It's an AEC! An AEC AV590 to be precise with a intermediate dif.

  • Is that an AEC engine i can hear,or Iveco?
