  • In his book the Tracker..he says he spent many hours in the library. He was a boyscout..Here he could have found Indian customs, Truth=. An Apace eler would never turn his back on his own people and family denying them the benefit of his gifts and teachings-he says he had family. Think people.. A medicine man lives to serve people..he would not isolate himself his whole life as in Brown's story. Brown condemns the way man lives but doesnt' he drive, take planes, use electrcity.

  • HE HIS A LEGEND I HOPE HE PASSES ALL THE INFO HE GOT FROM GRANDFATHER FOR FREE.

SINCE GRANDFATHER WOULD HAVE WANTED IT THAT WAY....

  • It saddens me a bit to see what I am sure are decent people arguing about this because there is no excuse for it other than two other kinds of sadness: the wish to be, yet have not found; and, have found, but do not fully understand. My wish was strong so I wanted what I needed and the way was opened to me. Everything else is just a story.

  • It's the same story every time. A man with "special gifts" has a vision, and suddenly he has followers, and starts a religion that makes money. People want to believe. But myths and stories (which is what the Apache grandfather is) help guide people's lives and are inspiring even when we know they aren't factually true. So just what, exactly is making Mr. Brown hold onto this story? Well, it keeps turning out good milk, so he keeps milking it. Like any good business man.

  • YYEEEEAH COOL SONG

  • And the last reason is we as Native Americans, whether we are Lipan or MicMac or Haudanausee....etc... we do not charge to learn from our people our customs and traditions if asked in a proper manner. That is our way always...

  • Ok Adam, here are the reasons... 1) there is no history of a Stalking Wolf among our people (meaning Lipans); 2) Even if this man was taught by a Lipan elder, holy or medicine man, he would not be considered a member of the Nde because of being Euroamerican descent; 3) Because he is taking advantage of our Non-Federally recognized status, he can claim whatever he would like and tell us there was nothing we could do about it because the BIA has not officially recognized our people.

  • I will give this man credit for teaching you all how to survive harsh conditions, but I myself, my people of the Tu' Tssn Nde Band of Lipan Apache do not recognize this man nor has authority to practice or teach our tribal ways. AIM Central Texas, as well as AIM South Texas do not recognize him among the Native community.

  • @LanzaVolante Can I ask what your reasons for this are?

  • Great man, I met him at his unforgettable school

  • I think you all need to check and see what's in your peace pipes. (hint, I don't think it's tobacco!!)

  • @jeepnicc

You're right, it's a mix of tobacco, sage, cedar, sweetgrass, etc.

It varies on the purpose the pipe is being used for, what ceremony, if it's for medicinal purposes etc.

The smoke is not inhaled when it's used for ceremony, it is just puffed from the mouth.

Mind altering substances are not used, allowed or recommended by anybody that I know that teaches at Tracker school.

The whole point of what they teach boils down to being aware of everything, and being high reduces awareness.

  • @ke6gwf Wow man, it was just a joke. Please accept my most sincere apology if I offended anyone. Let me know if I should pull the comment. Thank you.

  • @jeepnicc

Don't worry, I have made similar jokes myself!

There are those that believe in the medicinal power of certain things to remove them from reality, but I just wanted to point out that we aren't all that way.

As a famous person once said:

    Peace!

    ;)

  • @ke6gwf Yeah, the problem of removing yourself from reality is that you always have to come back! Usually to a bigger problem than you tried to remove yourself from in the first place!!

  • what song is this??

  • I wouldn't want to play hide and seek with him.

  • i am best friends with tom browns son

  • if your TBJ's sons best freind- get him to come on here and straighten out the stories..lol

    if you seriously r-

  • @porpoisefathom

He is a bit too busy to waste time on here trying to argue with 8 year olds...

He is on Facebook, Twitter, etc, is starting new schools around the country, and teaching lots of people cool skills.

    You understand...

  • "i am best friends with tom browns son"

    cool can we hang out?

you poser drugged up rumson tool

  • @pataroons

I am friends with Tom Brown's son too, as are hundreds of other people,

These are normal people that teach and live really cools things!

  • Thanks, it reminded me of my days at the Tracker School a long time ago

  • ahahahahahha!!!!!! my name is Thomas Brown Jr.!!!

  • despite the naysayers, Tom Brown Jr IS a national hero/treasure. period.

it is easy to critisize his mistakes and shortcomings... lets not forget that he is not a god, he is an imperfect human like us all...

his former head instructor told me on myspace that he has seen tom do some really stupid things and has also seen tom do some miraculous things. tom makes no claims to be able to "city-shuffle" on water... he is human .

his books alone have brought miracles into my life for years.

  • Tom and Stalking wolf are the greatest influences of my life. I tried everything in "awakening spirits" to get to those levels...to no avail. I did those exersizes for a while but i got no miracles...but this does not take away the fact that he has changed my life so profoundly. The greatest survival frontier to me will always be trans-oceanic solo voyages. Thats my vision. i hope i can contribute as much as him and teach mariners to "free" themselves from land. want to know more just ask...

  • the "miracles" never happen when you "try" they happen when u let go of all thought and surrender control... im sure u have experienced it w/o even knowing... say you saw a animal and followed its tracks for no apparent reason and then you find something really cool because of it. its the intuition.. its knowing w/o thinking. we all have it. flexing it until its strong is the challenge.

good luck on your travels man.

  • interesting you say so because his former instructor has been dead for years, why even try to pull such bs stump? you make a fool of yourself

  • your a complete moron tom brown has had several instructors you should know what your talking about before you criticize others. his former head instructors name is richard cleveland and he is very much alive and well.

  • im doubting you

  • i dont care if you believe me or if you doubt... but doubt is inherently negativity... which is pretty much all you have brought so far... i prefer positivity. Richard Cleveland is the real deal. runs a Earth School out of tyron North Carolina. from what he told me he got kinda fed up with the psuedo-spiritual-hangers-on at toms school and wanted to get back to basics...

the techniques are as old as time... they dont belong to tom brown jr or anybody... ask an aborigine what dreamtime is.

  • @stumptacular

Tom teaches these skills different than most others, because he is trying to reach a different group of people. The skills don't change, they are common among all primitive peoples, but the way they are taught is very different!

The Apache's did have some skills that weren't common among other tribes, specifically the scientific study of Tracking, but most of the other skills Tom teaches are the "Best Of" the skills from around the world.

  • His instructer, Stalking Wolf (apache name) was one of the best survivalists of our time. I think that your just arogant of survival, and who teachers it. You obcously no nothing of respect, and You should be put in the wilderness with nothing but clothes and a knife. THen you might just have some respect for what they do.

  • @cholopavo

I think you may be confused on what you are arguing about!

The person that instructed Tom Brown Jr was Grandfather Stalking Wolf of the Southern Lipan Apache tribe. He took his final walk many years ago.

Tom has many "former instructors" i.e. people that have been instructors at Tom's school. They tend to teach for a while, and then move on and set up their own schools around the country.

I think I have heard Cleveland's name before, as one of the instructors at Tracker School.

  • despite the naysayers, Tom Brown Jr IS a national hero/treasure. period.

  • this guy came to my high school and he used this contraption to throw a spear as far as he could and he said no one could even come close, but my friend who was a freshman at the time threw the spear like 50 feet farther than him. he was embarressed.

  • there was about 450 kids watching that day. and every single one laughed at this guy. if u dont believe i dont give a shit. ur just a pathetic person anyway.

  • You're not very intelligent are you. Nobody is going to take your word for it. It's called anecdotal evidence and it is useless.

Post video of said event or you are full of shit.

  • sorry dude. didnt have a video camera handy in 1998. u seem a little too upset. if i offended u im sorry. but it still happened. and it was really funny. and ull have to accept it.

  • "it was really funny. and ull have to accept it."

You're a child aren't you. When you grow up and if you stay in school you will learn about some things called "claims" and the "proof" required to support them, oh and not to forget "anecdotal evidence". Until then I guess ULL just have to remain a dummy lol

  • im out of school buddy. ur definitely one of these pathetic youtubers that go around trying to pick fights with random ppl to make urself feel cool or something. whatever ur issue is, get over it. therapy may be in ur future. and stop obsessing over tom brown's shortcomings. did u call me a dummy? sounds like u need to grow up redturtle....HAH

  • Best books I have ever read.

  • i cannot afford his courses but id willingly take all of them if I had the money...i would not want to take the basic though- they have a lot of people in it...its all the other courses i would like to take.

  • They are an investment to be sure...but not any more expensive than other "similar" (I only use this word for cost comparison) opportunities through Summer camps, retreats, etc. Additionally, Basic is the foundation (and prerequisit) for all advanced courses. We crawl before we walk for a reason. Good luck.

  • i hear you sagsoul4, thing is I already know how to crawl...lol i can do most of the things in his first course quite well, i need more advanced teachings...especially the spiritual side to it...my way is not that of terrestrial tracking but that of water- i call myself "THE Spiritual Mariner".

im from Canada and everywhere there is water and snow so the rules that apply in New Jersey do not apply up here. you could never run through bogs etc.

  • @violoncellomaster

As a veteran Tracker student and worker who did a lot of survival training before taking the Standard (Basic) class, I can tell you that I kinda thought the same thing!

The entire philosophy side of things is based on what is taught in the Standard.

It is the foundation for all the other classes.

If you want to get into just the Philosophy side, go to trackerschooldotcom. they are starting to run Phil workshops with no prerequisites around the country. Email them for info.

  • Thanks for the comment. Yes, my dear friend from Nepal, I agree with you in all points. Many years ago after a few classes, I also could see more disturbing facts on Tom then positive ones. However I am thanksful to him.Through him I got inspired for more and too I met so many fine people on my journey. That's why I put this picture movie.

Wuensche dir viel Freude am Leben.
