  • We've just gotten this show in India, I'm already hooked.

  • I absolutely fucking lose it every time that song plays. I didn't cry when Shane died. Didn't cry when Ronnie got fucked over. Didn't even cry during this final sequence. It's not that those scenes weren't moving - They were. But once "... Long Time Ago" starts, I can't hold it anymore. It's over. Once you hear that it's really over. No more Vic, Shane, Claudette, Aceveda, no one. I mean, you've spent years getting to know these people, to FEEL them. Once that song starts, you know they're gone.

  • Though, it's admittedly not as powerful watching it out of context on Youtube. It only hurts after 7 seasons of build. I've watched the entire series twice, and lost it at this song both times, if that's any testament to the power of this show.

  • ..When you turn out the light, walk out the Door.... The show was more than a simple TV Show in every Way --- But the End ---- That was Art

  • Despite everything Vic did I feel sorry for him. No one wants to admit it but the good he did far outweighed the bad . Killing the cop was messed up but Terry was going to have him put in prison so I'm not really mad about it.Vic Mackey for life!

  • What's left for Vic anymore?

  • I loved this show, the ending was awesome, but super sad too, Shawn Ryan did a great job, and I agree, Chiklis shoulda won an emmy. I wish maybe there would be some way that they could continue it, with them somehow getting ronnie gardockie out or something. This was a powerful show, great cast and characters, shield forever!

  • The reason alot of people say Sopranos #1 , is cause it came first. It kick-started everything....OZ, The Wire, Breaking Bad, SOA, Boardwalk Empire and this show. While it wasn't the most consistent, seasons 4 & 5 get very stetchy, it does something very well alot of the others didn't do so well....the non-crime stuff. Family issues, marriage issues, puberty, American psychiatry culture, evrything. BB seems to be the only one without a bad season, so far. Infact, it's the only one getting better

  • @ViceCityVacation i actually thought it was one of the more consistent shows that kept at a steady pace throughout each and every season and ended on a high. I would hope there would be life of some sort for a show featuring further exploits of Vic. It could be done. Definitely one of my favourite (perhaps favourite) shows of all time along with The Sopranos and Breaking Bad. Shawn Ryan brought something really great to the screen which won't be forgotten.

  • Seems such a long time ago.....

  • @justsumdude899

Not for me, i just watched all 7 seasons in like the last 2 Months.

I think " The Shield " is still to date one of the best Cop Drama's of all time. Its better than CSI and NCIC and all those shitty shows obviously, but i think its better than " Southland " also. I hold it right at the top along with Breaking Bad.

  • @blizzy00 Yup totally agree with you there. Anytime anyone mentions to me how great something like CSI is, I quickly point out that Vic did it all the way it should be done - kicking doors and smashing faces and still managing a top story with intriguing characters and relationship dynamics. Go Vic! That's real police work!

  • The Shield isn't my favorite show ever but what a finale it had. Those last 4-5 episodes were amazing.

  • The Shield just blew me away... just when cop shows were getting predictable and cliched along come Vic n gang. gritty and real. couldnt wait for the next episode.. You just couldnt get enough . understandably, It couldnt sustain itself.. let it rest in peace... no remakes... no movies... let the original episodes remain....

  • The Shield is the best....How intense was that scene where Ronnie gets busted? That messed me up. Vic turned out to be a piece of shit.

  • @jjcatful He was trying to save his wife from prison. He had no idea she was working with the police to get him done.

  • @MrBumboclart I know he was trying to save his wife..He's a shit because of what he did to Ronnie.

  • @jjcatful He had no choice.

  • -Breaking Bad-I saw, and I say that I look very different from-The-Shield. BB-I think-devoted to the spectacular, evil and self-centered, while The-Shield is a cop-realistic, with a real anti-hero .. I sincerely appreciate this type of product

  • In response to NoWhereToRunn: Nay. BREAKING BAD. That is all.

  • shane was the only one who deserved his death, this rascist redneck motherfucker was a piece of shit from the beginning.

  • @ButcherYourMom I agree. It would have been nice to see Tavon kick Shane's ass after he had been at the hospital and still know about the fight they had at Shane's house, wanted to see more of Tavon in this show even if it's great overall :D

  • 3 years is over! vic is heading into streets again shawn ryan!

  • best show ever and great final

  • quanto parla quel silenzio....

  • @babyLSD e si hai ragione quel silenzio dice tutto peccato che non lo rifaranno +

  • @mmafir manca anche a me, pero' è giusto che sia finito cosi', questo è l'unico finale possibile...non avrebbe senso fare un seguito

  • i was kind of disappointed with how everything turned out. they made him out to be this horrible person, sure he killed the cop in the first episode but i always felt like he was such a great cop that it outweighed all the wrong he did.

  • @thefoilerlives No way. By the end he was a piece of shit human being. That doesn't mean I still didn't root for him, but even by the end of season 3 his worth as a cop stopped outweighing all the shit he was doing on the side.

  • In the end Vic was just another piece of shit, when he sold Ronnie out.He should of gave a tip, just run to Mexico.

  • Damn it i miss Vic, Shane, Lem, and Ronnie. Strike tream 4 ever :/

    The Shield is the best

  • this cant be the end . i mean we have to see what b macky will do now to get his family and help ronnie and he hasn't even use the new title he is goverment now . wtf this show has to continue ...

  • I'ts only when we have lost everything when we are free to do anything.

  • Worked for the entire series and in the end he lost his whole team, Shane and Lem, fucked Ronnie, got his freedom but lost his family, friends and any reputation he had, now he is the cop killer bad guy, he cant even be on teh street anymore, bound to a desk.

Looking back should they have all just quit teh force after hte money train? Work like another year, stay on teh straight and then retire and move away and start up a small business, each take their cut of the money and go and live.

  • This and The Wire...never will they be equalled.

  • I cried like a baby at this ending :(

  • The only two who know what Vic's gonna do at the end are Shawn Ryan and God.

  • T_T

  • How Chiklis didn't win an Emmy just for this last scene is beyond me. The guy ran through just about every human emotion in 3 minutes without saying a single word.

  • @funkiersnoog amen brother.

  • The two faggots underneath me can get butt fucked by Antwone Mitchell. Vic Mackey for life motherfuckers!! Nigga is a shark and cannot moving or he'll die. And do you really think he's gonna stick behind a desk for three? Go chew on a dick like Aceveda did once before, Claudette couldn't keep him behind a desk, do you really think that ICE could do the same? Bitches can try. Vic gonna find his kids and bust Ronnie outta prison. So put that in your pipe and OD on it.

  • @thedeparted2006 Relax faggot!

  • I honestly just think he just went home and took his gun with him. Thats it, he's broken, there is no vic mackey left

  • LEM'S MURDER, SHANES SUICIDE, RONNIES ARREST....THE MAN BEHIND ALL THE STORM IN THEIR LIVES,& HE GETS TO PUSH PAPERWORK TIL RETIRMENT. THEY ALL, W/O QUESTION OR HESITATION, FOLLOWED HIS ORDERS AND THEY ALL GOT THE SHORT END OF THE STICK. I GUESS PRISON FOR LIFE WOULD HAVE BEEN TOO EZ 4 HIS CRIMES. HIS REMAINDER OF A LONELY,MENIAL LIFE IS SUFFICIENT PUNISHMENT. WHAT A BULLSHIT ENDING. HE LIVED BY THE GUN, HE SHOULD HAVE DIED BY THE GUN. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED BY YOU "MR RYAN" LOL

  • Only true hard assess role in a suit and tie and have a Desert Eagle .357 mag, tucked in the back. Vic FTW.

  • Can Terry Crowley's family sue Vic in Civil Court???

  • Now it's Rescue Me's turn to show us a great finale, just hope it's not like Nip/Tuck's, anti climatic and somewhat disappointing

  • Something tells me he's realised he's lost everything and knows his life and career is over, stuck all alone in a crappy desk job until pension day and lonely since his friends and family have left him. By the way he acts with the gun and how depressed he looks, I think he's gone to commit suicide. However, knowing this tiger, he's going to go out with a bang rather than a whimper...

  • @sweenyadam isn't it just for 3 years?

  • @roamer45 Yep :)

  • I think he's going after his family, but I also think this is where Vic realizes the cost of every little stunt him and his strike-team pulled.

  • Excellent ending for an excellent serie.

  • The part during the ending credits, I found a bit odd. I expected to be a bit like The Wire where they finished some stuff up, or at least showed how Ronnie went to jail, Antoine 'welcoming' him, Corinne living with the kids, maybe Kavanaugh in jail, etc. etc. Nothing conclusive, just a 'rolling' end.

Great series. Loved it more than the Sopranos, and maybe even The Wire. Never got boring, good story, very well written.

  • que serie mas grande!!!!!!

  • Shane and Ronnie were the only 2 to dislike this video.

  • The Shield, best TV Drama ever. I loved it. Though it was extremely brutal at times it was always for a reason, to emphazise on something that lies below, beyond the surface...and god damn, to spin this story so hard. those writers are freakin geniouses.

  • Lem must be spinning in his grave. Vic betrayed everyone. Understandably so.

  • In his final minutes Vic realizes it's all over. He lost his family, Lem died, Shane died, Ronnie went to jail for at least 10 years. All the lies have finally caught up with him.

Vic Mackey lives on. The Shield was a great show & I'm sad that it's over but, all good t.v. shows will come to a end. R.I.P THE SHIELD. You will be missed. :o)

  • I think what the video symbolizes is that Vic always survives, even being in his own well-deserving hell won't fully diminish his spirit. Shawn Ryan said Vic is like a shark, he just keeps swimming and swimming.

  • Terry Crowley was not only one of the good guys, he was killed the first episode. Lem was the only guy on the team taht wasn't a total villian, but at the same time he wouldn't give up lem when he found out that Vic was a cop killer. But if he had, there wouldn't be any other seasons. Steve Botchco isn't very good, but his proteje David E. Kelley is probably the best TV writer ever. Kelley and Botchco did LA Law together. Otherwise check out Harry's Law. Not as good as LA law or picket fences

  • Best Show EVER!!!!!!

  • the 1 dislike is terry crowley

  • 3.21 there's his fbi id card: he became a fbi agent? he maybe is just going out on patrol duty?i miss vic and the team but without lem and ronnie is not "team" anymore. Sha(m)e vendrell was way too a douche....and a liar: I hated him. Hope we 'll see a "last season" but i'm not so confident about.btw I'm still waiting for the second season of "Over there" (created by Steve Botchko (NYPD)) D:DDD

  • I still remember watching this the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, 2008. Best series finale I know of (tops MASH, too). My favorite series ever, I don't expect to see one that comes even close to The Shield. Was sad to see it go.

  • Best series finale ever.

  • i hope he guest stars on the chicago code

  • hey i havent seen all the eps yet

van someone explain why he is in a office?

  • @Nforcez don't go youtubing the ending you absolute dumbass

  • Magnifico Final¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • better then the sopranos ending.

  • @lilmick2k8 Waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than the Sopranos ending.

  • The Shield is done?? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :(

  • Vic is about to go save ronnie, even if he has 2 die.

  • @volaever I don't think so...not because Vic doesn't have the balls to do so but because he would be threatening his family to do so...violating his deal with the feds.

  • I hope Vic guess stars on Sons of Anarchy

  • I laughed my ass off in this scene because of what he was wearing, Especially when he comes in with the grey suit.

  • I think he's gonna try and bust Ronnie out and run with him. He said in an earlier episode, if it all goes bad, they'll run

  • It all went wrong for Vic after season 4 when Monica Rawlings opened an IAD Investigation. He was pretty much concealing his crimes well and confident!!

  • A shell of a man

  • fantastic series , only in the USA !

  • There's never gonna be anything better than this show

  • @NoWhereToRunn Sopranos. Great show tho! just finished watching it!

  • @NoWhereToRunn If you liked The Shield I would advise you to watch Breaking Bad. They are both very similar and while I love The Shield, Breaking Bad is probably the best drama TV series ever made ( Yes better than The Wire too ). Vic Mackey and Walter White are two of the greatest anti-heroes ever.

  • @yuc321 The Sopranos is the greatest, that's what I though until I watched the final of the shield on dvd, My top 3 would be Shield, Sopranos, The wire

  • @yuc321 Even though I think Walter is more moral than Vic, even after the cliffhanger of the latest season, I agree with you. There's just one other character you forgot to put in the ranks of anti-heroes - Tony Soprano!!!! Tony, Vic and Walter all have a class of their own but they are equal when it comes to being an anti-hero.

  • if the final scene is coherent with the rest of the series, he's going to solve the problem, once again. During the whole series how many times we thought: "Come on Vic, you're making things worse and more complicated, just give it up". He can't, he's a fighter. Whatever happens, he'll fight for what he wants no matter what. He lost everything? He takes his gun and goes out to take back everything, like he always did, as the sirens "say". If he has to die, he will die doing that.

  • @piancar2000

vic was also in the middle of an investigation, wasn't he supposed to be meeting with that mexican gangster? they just pull him right out of that?

  • @vlunney, did you not catch the last episode??

  • @piancar2000 Did you watch the show? There's nothing more to fight for, he's lost everything due to his actions. The last scene, in my opinion, symbolises a wild animal caged up.

  • what a pussy he should do his time and leave the country

  • Did everyone hear? Vic is back! He moved to a different state and started a new family. Only his family is No Ordinary Family!!!

  • @VIERO666 at the same time im waiting for an appearance by dexter morgan on the same show

  • i think he's going to kill himself because he don't have any motive to survive

  • they are talking about making a movie ow

  • Everything would've been fine if he didn't give Olivia her blackmail file. He could've worked circles around her and gotten anything he wanted, could've probably gotten Ronnie immunity as well. BTW anyone notice he carries a 357 Desert Eagle off duty? Fits him perfectly.

  • michael chiklis is a fucking powerhouse actor. it's just mesmerizing stuff in that final scene. watching all the emotions going through his head, just fantastic stuff. i'm surprised he doesn't get more major movie roles

  • vic got away like he should of...thought he would of saved ronnie some how ?

whats the talk of a movie ? hes got his gun and badge.

one thing i wondered about was dutch....a couple of times they left clues that he may be thinking about being a serial killer...like when he killed the cat ? u also see the wanted picture for this cat when shane is having his last talk to vic on the phone.

they left heaps of unanswered questions....clearly the best show ive ever watched though

  • He still has his gun and his shield and that is all he needs to do what he does best. Mackey will continue to survive.

  • After he left Farmington. Vic Mackey grew his hair out slightly, put on about 20 pounds. And became the "Commish" of an police dept. in Upstate New York.

  • they forget about that mexican drug lord who was supposed to be meeting Vic??????

  • well at least Mackey will be sleeping in his bed instead sleeping in a jail cell.

  • @abredell they should have given Vic a medal for stopping crime; Claudette should have minded her own business.

  • Best show ever

  • I honestly think hes going to go find his family or he is going to follow those cops because he misses it all ready.

  • he went to break Ronnie out

  • He's going off to do what he always does. Solve the problem. He's going to get his kids back or black mail the ICE lady.

  • Vic's fate fit him. The times he crossed 'the line' to lock up criminals to protect the innocent he deserved no jail time. The times he really crossed the line like executing a fellow police officers and an Armenian hitman which were cold-blooded murder as well as dealing with drug dealers for profit( and lets not forget the money train), he didnt deserve a happy ending. I thought this summed up a good compromise to write off his complex persona. Not in jail, but undoubtedly disgraced forever.

  • I do not believe Vic killed himself nor did he turn into some vigilante. I think that he abandoned his post and took his gun with him because he is going to run away. He might even go to that place in Mexico that they were going to send Lem to before Shane killed him.

  • @thatkrazyguyukno bullshit.. full immunity deal to becoming americas most wanted in a shitty country?? Not realistic

  • best show ever. hope they make a movie would love to see vic get his family back and get ronnie out of prison. probily wont happen but would love to see it

  • @M1ckyCFC vick wife is a weak bitch!

  • I loved the shield I can't belive it's finished I'm so sad

  • lo maximo es the shield

  • I just loved every single moment of this show... this is defenitly one of the best tv shows of all time... but i must confess that i was really sad about the conclusion, although it wasnt possible a different one... I was really sad for ronny (not as much for shane). But still youu can feel the walls closing in, in the last season telling us that there is no possible ending for this guys who broke the law everyday. I loved it and recomend to everyone... You ll be defenitly happy...

  • @19Legendary86 ya know, at first, I was absolutely 100% agreed with you, I thought "screw shane". Which for the Lem thing I still absolutely believe. But I rewatched all the seasons, and theres just so much complexity with shane. He did all the bad things he did, but they legitimately tore at him, and ate him alive from the inside. So by the end, he had come so far. What was done by the Strike Team, to get the job done, had turned into a downward spiral, that destroyed them all.

  • @freelandwhippet

I Don't feel sorry for Vic Mackey.

  • @jmjfanss ido

  • Amazing show, but so sad to end this way - but it was the only way it COULD end. :(

  • such a brilliant way to end a phenomenal series

  • Unbelieavable series. I can't accept the fact that it is over.

    *hears the sirens*

    *walks towards the window*

    -.-

  • This was the greatest show ever. This ending was so...... Depressing. Vic lost everything. He was a bad person, but you didn't want him to lose. I was angry when I first saw this, but eventually it just saddened me.

  • MASTERPIECE

  • whats the song at the end called?

  • "Long time ago" - Concrete Blond

  • this is one of the all time great endings in any media film or television.

  • Ever notice how the most powerul tv and film moments have no dialogue at all?

  • One of the best shows of all time.

  • These open enings leave you with many options to ponder: Maybe he tried to track down his family and was finally taken down. Or maybe he fled to another country and started a new life. Maybe he just lost it and blew his brains out. One thing is sure, though, and let this be a lesson to you all boys and girls: Eventually, your sins catch up to you.

  • maybe he went to spring Ronnie out of jail

  • Ronnie wouldn't have accepted his help. I think he decided that prison was better than the prison of his ICE "job", and never being able to see his kids again.

  • @cruzazul590 I am a brit an for an American drama this is one of the best I have ever seen, even better than some British crime dramas!! Shawn Ryan and Scott Brazil spot on lads!

  • @cruzazul590

The only flaw in your comment: Vic Mackey does not give up. He; will not ever blow his brains out or submit otherwise. He will keep fighting until all other possible options are exhausted. I think this is why I look up to his character; although he is an awful person, he will always fight for what he believes in and continue to pursue what he thinks he needs or he dies. Shawn Ryan proved he knows how to create amazing characters with The Shield and reinforced that with Terriers

  • @cruzazul590 How did this comment become a highest rated. Eventually your sins catch up with you? Ya, that was the whole point of the show and it had nothing to do with a series of ironies right. And the moral of the story is sins catch up to all of us. Once there was a boy born with only a head. He could only roll around here and there. One day he gets 3 wishes. So he wishes for two arms, two legs, and the rest of his body and he gets run over by a car. The lesson is quit while your a head.

  • @blabbermouth777 hahahahah!!!!

  • @cruzazul590 I actually imagined that he was going out on the street doing what he thinks he does best. Fighting crime, no matter what the consequences are with the contract he signed and the fact that he will go to jail. He needs to be on the street.

  • @cruzazul590 I believe it leaves it open to a final movie....which in my opinion they should do...all the shield fans would appreciate it....then again everything can't end happy....even in the BEST series EVER

  • what did he do with that gun?

  • He followed the sirens, and went after what he believed was his only purpose.

  • thank u

  • the face of a ruined, evil man.

  • almost tears

  • He was not a EVIL man in the way the villans are represented or psichopat guy.Vic was a human being like you and I trying to do the best for his family , everybody Iin the TV show were corrupt in a way or another but he got caught so that means that WE ALL have done questionable things (in dif levels). So you are a "saint" while you don't get caught and your moral values are intact but everybody have shit on their "shoes"Before you judge someone, check out your shoes first.

  • Not by any means a saint, but I've never done the following: tortured and executed another human being; had illegitimate children and not given a shit about them; killed numerous people and burned their bodies;punched a woman in the face;fucked over my friends so they are headed for prison rape and worse; nope, not a saint--never done those things, though.

  • I tried to explain to you is that in different level we all are corrupt ,you are not a murder but you may watch porn or you cheat on a school test etc....Vic killed a cop who was investigating the strike team so that cop could be consider a "traitor" so .About the rest of the guys that were killed ,they were scum ,that kind of people in real life are the ones selling drugs to kids and killing for nothing. The problem is he got caught but he did not want to take responsabilty for his acts.

  • He killed Terry to protect his team and keep everyone out of prison. He robbed the Armenians so his kids future would be set, and he robbed the mob, not a bank. He killed Margos to protect the team. Lem and Shane had Amardillo killed to protect Vic and the team. Lem lifted a key of tar to protect Shane and the team. Shane killed Lem thinking he was protecting the team. They're a family, they put each other before everyone else and protected each other. That's not corruption to me.

  • WHY DID IT HAVE TO END!?!?! *CRIES*

  • yeah, i loved the shield too. however, since sons of anarchy and the shield exist in the same TV universe(especially with all the one niner references), perhaps samcro will find themselves dealing with ronnie in jail, or the target of ICE agent Vic Mackey. that would be sweet

  • Comment removed

  • Bobby, that has to be the greatest and smartest comment of all, BUT The guy who played Dutch was already on SOA and so is Ronnie, but as a different character! HOW GREAT WOULD THAT BE!!!!!! We all have a twin in the world, right??

  • yes, good observation. recently, the guy who played lem was on the show too. also, clays wife was gilroys wife in the shield. I still say they can pull it off, as long as vic/ronnie have isolated scenes with no one else that was from the shield who is currently on SOA..

  • @bobbydigital1419 Yeah dude, Kurt Sutter who is one of the mastermind writers of The Shield is the guy who created Sons of Anarchy. He also played Margos Desarian in season 3 of the Shield.
