#1 Too much info in front of friends lol. #2 yes Joan was being a real jealous bitch. She wanted to be married so badly, she took it out on others. Let's be honest, Toni didn't deserve Todd. Look how she treated him later after they married. It wasn't just about the marathon, that was just something for Joan to focus on. So many things from past episodes with Ellis and everything else obviously did bother her, but she let it get bottled up, that she let it out the wrong way and the wrong time.
Joan would be much happier in life if everything wasn't about perfection. I mean, every episode she's been in she has to be the perfectionist, she's not willing to take risks the way Maya, Lynn and yes, even Toni do. She's like a female version of Max from 'Collateral', a character who realizes that to be in control, you gotta be ready to spin out of control every once in a blue moon if you hope to get what you want out of life.
