  • Yep, you're right. Here int he US it was on the Beatles Yesterday and Today album. It has been played on the radio on oldies stations here in the US tho.

  • Listen gang...

McCartney/Lennon wrote the song and recorded it first. It appeared on the UK Rubber Soul album in 1966 but was not released in the US until 1967!

Bob Kuban & THe In-Men covered the song and released it in summer of 1966. So many Americans (especially in the midwest) heard this version before the Beatles version!

The Beatles never released Drive My Car as a single.

  • Thought it was him. Thanks for the info. Glad you liked the video.

  • Yep... Beatles did it first, for sure. Lennon-McCartney wrote it, Kuban & In Men re-did it a few years later.

This is most definitely Bob Kuban here, final answer. And it's a beautiful thing!

    Thanks for posting this...

  • Thanks for the info. It sure sounds different than my late hubbys Beatles record of it tho.

  • I'd always assumed the Beatles had it out first. Either way this is Bob Kuban and the Inmen/s version which my late hubby had on a 45 single. He also had the Beatles version as well. Thanks for the info...

  • Don't want to get in a tiff, but there is no question that is McCartney on lead vocal and if you don't know George Harrison's guitar then god help you. This is most certainly the Beatles cover.

  • @cherylharrell1961 No...the Beatles had it out first.....in 1965 or 1966. This was done after Walter Scott left the group.

  • Thanks for the info. I never knew that...

  • I think you've got it backwards. First of all, this is the Beatles version. Second, Bob and the Inmen issued the original version and the Beatles covered it. Nothing wrong with that and I love the song no matter who does it.

  • are you crazy, how old are you

  • I don't think I'm crazy. Why do you ask? Would you pay my shrink bills if I am? Are you saying this is not the Beatles version of the song? What's up?

  • Glad you liked it. The big song of theirs played around here was The Cheater. So I'm assuming this one was a rare one...

  • Thanks for positng the song...growing up in St. Louis I danced to Bob Kuban and the band till my feel wore out...lol
