Will dreads lock if you keep washing them out?

I got my dreadlocks started with twists about four months ago. Everytime i go to the salon the lady washes my twists out and then twist my fro all over again. I thought you were just suppose to twist the new growth. She says they will lock. Is this the correct way? How will they lock if she keeps washing them out?

u should stop goin to her bruh. she runnin game on you. how can it lock if the hair keeps being seperated. ? it wont. you should do your locs on your own. its alot better and theres plenty of vids on youtube to show you how.

She is simply giving you comb coils. They should be starter locs, but the difference is once you start the coil, it should only be retwisted at the root until you get length and the hair locs. Comb coils or starter locs should NOT be washed for about a month if you can stand it. The hair is not going to loc if she keeps taking them out..PERIOD. See loctician or do what bd2eazy said and start your own. :o)

I suggest washing it and letting someone retwist soon after.. Wipe your scalp with a cotton ball with astringent on it...

the last time i cut my hair was in oct 07 and i started to twist my hair at the end of march of 08 so i guess 4 months, and i didn't even have an afro and if i did i had a baby afro lol!!! i was just trying my best to runaway from the ugly stages of having locs. thanks for viewing my video log hope you come back next month to view my next entry next month.have a great one im out!!! peace!!!
