Long story short- Just keep track of your fish and you should be okay. Make sure their tank is clean and make sure your not feeding them to much. If this help- you could get a notebook and drot down what year it is and what day. Also you can keep track of ammo and such. that helps me.researching fish is good to because then youll know what they need and how they live. Fish are my favorite aniamles.
@1peiceaznboi We offer them on our aquatics site. Follow the link in the video description and do a search for hood filter and it will be the first product in your search results.
@1peiceaznboi It's an Eclipse 2 I believe I own one, they are amazing! The only thing you need is to replace the filter every 2-4 weeks with an "H" size filter.
my tank is in a area where everyone is, and in direct sunlight because i have 2 turtle and when the sun is out they bask and if its not i use a basking light
Thank you! I've got a new aquarium and don't know when to add fish to it. I've heard that I should wait for 2 weeks! But on your video you only say 24 hours... when should i add fish?
I have benn trying to plant some of my plants in my aquarium (16 Gallon Bow Front ). They are extremly hard to plant. Is it true if I took about 2 3rds of the water out then, planted? Its getting too hard for me to do it. Also I was wondering if i would need more substrate in my tank. It is the Eco-plant Substrate 20 Ib that you guys sell.
@Goldfish50Gallon unfortunately I am unable to tell you what brand and model no. the tank is. We do not actually carry just tanks at this time, and so I don't know the brand of the tank used in the video.
why testing the water is important ? the fish market in there people told me to just add water and let fish ago and nothing happen ? but i want to know why testing is important ?
@The0Burger0King it helps, but a starter culture from an established tank works great too. but i reccomend adding about a gallon of water from the other one as well.
i have a Q. how do you cycle your water? whats the thing you put in the tank? not the stresscoat thing but the other drops when you said you were cycling the water?
and whats the thing called to test the water for ..... i forgot what you said. nitrate and somehting else
@keyair123 when cycling the aquarium you let it run, allowing to water to go through the filter, reach a good temprature and letting the important bacteria grow.
biological additive is most likely a bacteria start culture to add all needed bacteria to the aquarium in large numbers.
cyclely the tank is adding decaying mass to the tank so that bactria can grow. this bactria is what brakes down the fish poo and other decaying matter. If you add fish when cycling they may die from high amonia levels. During the cycle amonia, nitrate, and nitrite levels will riase and fall while the bactria spreads.
Not all fish are gonna die when cycling, thats why they say get hardy fish to put in there because they can stand good or bad water conditions. I cycled my tank with Oscar fish before and havent lost one.
hey nice fish!! i just gotta horseface loach he/shes in my baby tank check it out i heard theyre kinda rare and thats the 1st i saw 1 to buy so i did lol
in larger tanks the cycling process can take months, you should wait a few days at least before adding any fish at all, adding too many will cause bacterial blooms, and remember the rule for starting your aquarium: however many fish you think is too many, its half that.
@TheAquariumKid no, dont ever follow such a stupid rule. A 1" dwarf puffer needs 30 gallons. A bala shark needs 50 when young. a school of 5 neon tetras should have 20-30 gallons to be happy and each only get to about 1-1 1/2".
Seriously, ask an expert or an aquarium veteran they will tell you thats BS, its just a marketing ploy for people to buy more fish.
What you say is not complietely true , its true that neons need 20 gals, puffer needs 30, and so on. Just a 20 gal with 5 neons still has alot of room for other fish.

Its far better off in a 10 gallon as it has less territory to defend.
