If you must have a V6 engine in the Charger, the 3.5 is WAY better than the weak 2.7. The 2.7 is better in the Sebring and Avenger than the 300 or the Charger, which I love.
My grandparents have a 96 Chrysler Concorde w/ the 3.5. My grandfather is a Chrysler expert and says that the 3.5 in his Concorde hasn't given him a heap of trouble reliability wise.
anyone buying an lx and going with a v6 do yourself a favour and skip the 2.7

I know. But still, ANY year of 3.5 (once you know the service intervals) should work just fine.
