You are absolutely right! After Begum, I heard the Jagjit version (and those of others) but when she sings "khaq ho jayenge", all the seething pain comes out in a form that I do not think can be reproduced!
Being a singer of her songs and a mission to do so all my life, I can say that I have never been able to express the intensity with which she emotes when she says' KhaQ ho jayenge tumko khabar hone tak!'
I want the world to know what a great singer we have had!!! My salute to you for posting the song.....!

this is gr8 rendition but so are by Jagjit Singh, Ghulam Ali and Mehdi Hassan, all the compositions are gr8 in their own way.

I personally think her voice sounds too aged here.. I liked Jagjit Singh's rendition followed by Ustad Hussain Bux Gullo.
