If you sell it to a friend you can sell it for more money than you'd get at the store, and you can sell if for less than what the store sells them for, so EVERYONE wins, except the greedy-ass store.

@jaksk82001 The developers don't get anything if from used games, thats why EA started the whole thing where if you bought the game new, Then you could play online multiplayer with no hassle. If you bought it used, you have to buy an online pass off the marketplace (both xbox and psn).

They were very old Xbox games and I was not hoping for much out of them, they offer me 50 fucking cents for each when they sold for 10 dollars. Took the same games across town and they gave me 7 dollars for each, been going to that place for 4 years now for trade ins.

I agree. I saw this early on, so I started hunting for independant video game stores and found a few that offered better trade-in value and sells new games for up to $6 less!! There's a Gamestop near one of the places I go and the Gamestop employees are always causing them trouble. To those of you who don't have indepedant video game retailers near you, Amazon. They have great deals and most of the new titles are discounted, also they offer free shipping sometimes.
I havent shopped at game bend over in 3 years now. I always save a couple bucks and buy the games brand new and unscratched from walmart or best buy and i sell them on ebay and get pretty close to what theyre actually worth and people will pay the shipping too.

I bought a "new" game from them, got home and realised the shrink wrap looked different, tore off the ghetto wrap and saw fingerprints and scratches all over my disk. I brought the shrink wrap and the game back to Gamestop and ended up arguing with the Gamestop employee on the concept of "new" as oppossed to "used". Since then I never went to anymore Gamestops and never will.

I was so confused on why the prices are so high, and I try to return a DS game I got the day before (because I didn't like it) and they didn't give me even half of the price back because I saved a game. i hate trading in my games. if a game comes out that i want, usualy RPG games. i think that im going to get it coz im trading in really good games and they give me half the amount that i think i should be getting and then i have to bloody wait or trade in more of my precious games. this has happened to me many times when i was trying to get: pokemon white, pokemon soul silver, eternal sonata when it came out, dbz burst limit when it came out and super mario sunshine when it first came out.
This is 100% correct. Game Stop blows - they have ripped me off several times just as described here and they have so many stores in my area alone (my 'city' has less than 40,000 people) and there is ONE locally owned business and most people don't know about it and it always offers better deals on trade-ins and the prices on new games are usually lower than what Game Stop sells them for. Oh, and Game Stop sold me a used memory card for a PS2 that didn't work. Dinks.

Their website is always wrong, their games are almost always incomplete and in terrible condition, their trade-ins are a crime, their employees are uesless and annoying, they don't carry anything older than PS2, and they've bought out almost all good game stores in my area or put them out of business.

I agree. I saw this early on, so I started hunting for independant video game stores and found a few that offered better trade-in value and sells new games for up to $6 less!! There's a Gamestop near one of the places I go and the Gamestop employees are always causing them trouble. To those of you who don't have indepedant video game retailers near you, Amazon. They have great deals and most of the new titles are discounted, also they offer free shipping sometimes.

I bought a "new" game from them, got home and realised the shrink wrap looked different, tore off the ghetto wrap and saw fingerprints and scratches all over my disk. This is 100% correct. Game Stop blows - they have ripped me off several times just as described here and they have so many stores in my area alone (my 'city' has less than 40,000 people) and there is ONE locally owned business and most people don't know about it and it always offers better deals on trade-ins and the prices on new games are usually lower than what Game Stop sells them for. Oh, and Game Stop sold me a used memory card for a PS2 that didn't work. Dinks.

(also some other lame places like toys r us? and staples i think? eh idc) rogers, wal-mart and eb games are closest. i usually go for rogers but if they dont have it i check eb games. wal-mart is too expensive and only sells new. i usually buy used cause its cheaper so eb games it is x_X

They sold Contra III for $9.99 there, and paid me $12.00 credit for Parappa the Rapper on PSP (a game I won for free and even bought for $1.00 at Best Buy), and $12.00 for Ultimate Alliance on PS2. Their website is always wrong, their games are almost always incomplete and in terrible condition, their trade-ins are a crime, their employees are uesless and annoying, they don't carry anything older than PS2, and they've bought out almost all good game stores in my area or put them out of business.

I agree, but nobody is forcing us to go there. Amazon is where everyone with a credit card should get there new releases. Otherwise go to Best Buy or Wal-Mart. Anyone want to start a national boycott Game Stop day? Black Friday?

i've only traded in games twice.
the first time i bought in a few games i did'nt want, at the time i was naive about trading in credit. the second time i just did'nt give a damn about the game and traded it in, did'nt even use the $5 i got for it.
a week ago i found out a Play n Trade opended up in my area, so Gamestop is dead to me.
