  • @reptaryay Yes, it's in 3/4

  • 3/4th timing?

  • That's so cool that Jeremy Enigk and him are friends. Is it weird that I don't believe in god, but Jeremy Enigk and The Almost are two of my favorite bands?! What gives..

  • It's kind of ironic that I listened to Asking Alexadrias song "Morte et Dabo" before watching this. Both great songs in such different ways.. haha :)

  • </3

  • I know this song is about talking to God and how he will never forsake you. But I can look at this song like you want to tell that person that is broken and doesn't know God, that you yourself make mistakes even though i'm a Christian. But God is a merciful God and it doesn't matter how much we have done, you can be forgiven. It says he puts your sins as far way as the east is from the West.

  • @fallenskater138 Thanks i needed that.

  • Thumbs up if you liked this because it would make him very happy.

  • @RocknForJesus dude just listen and enjoy the music for you not for him.

  • No matter, this song is so gooood. (:

  • just learned this song today to freaken happy

  • @6087jel No no we're gonna keep talking about Jesus because He is our savior and He loves us and we love Him.

  • @6087jel this is a Christian song. so maybe you should watch it again and really listen to the words. ill say a prayer for you.

  • @6087jel The whole song is about Jesus so i dont know how you can even say that. why do you listen to the song? or do you even listen to it? God Bless

  • @6087jel Why the hate? Jesus is good and loving.

  • chills to my body and tears to my eyes, God has used Aaron to touch my life:)

  • I <3 Jesus. :3

  • Conviction...can be a good thing. To feel that guilt so that you come clean, then Jesus can wash away all your sin. Repent, Surrender, and take out all the barriars that keep you away from a relationship with Jesus Christ...When walking with Him, you know what true love is. Jesus Christ deserves all our praise :) we don't deserve him, yet he chose us. We love him, because he first loved us.

  • alot of people lose sight that you dont have to be perfect to believe you dont have to be wealthy to be rich you done have to be flawless to be beautiful whatever whoever and wherever you stand jesus and our father god loves you for everything you have and will become.

  • I am loving this song! Wow

  • this song is now for my best friend whos realy sick <3

  • Anyone talented at music can get up on a stage and perform infront of people..... but it takes true courage to stand on a stage a proclaim you love for Jesus Christ. Amazing!

  • why is tere always talk about jesus on teir songs? are tey suppose to be a jesus worshipper band or something?

  • @StrongmindedChick09 Yes they're a christian band. Watch The Almost- True Meaning of Christian it's their lead singer Aaron Gillespie's way of saying what a christian it.

  • @StrongmindedChick09 if you knew the story behind this song, most people including would understand.

making vows to Jesus of not having pre marital sex with his future wife was a big failure for him, because hes a Jesus freak it tore him up cause he disobeyed God and sice hes a only human/sinner just like all of us, he needed some way of escape, but the only way to really escape from something like that for him is to cry out to his God and write an apology song. I sure God accepted the apology.

  • everytime i think i find a good song it brings jesus in it -_-

  • @thekiddehkannible whats wrong with that tho??obviously your taste in musics telling you something :P

  • @thekiddehkannible whats wrong with jesus being in a song?

  • @thekiddehkannible so... he died for forgiveness of my sins yours and everyone elses. jesus is good

  • @thekiddehkannible whats wrong with that? Jesus is awesome

  • I just want you all to know, No matter how close you get to rock bottom, Jesus still loves you and He ALWAYS will. His grace is neverending, and we all owe our life to Him.

    IloveyouJesus.

  • it's funny how no one is arguing about "religion" and "music" on this one, because there's no way you can deny this songs meaning :)

  • goosebumps.

  • i like to cover this song just to sing it to my brother and savior JESUS !! thnks 4 all =) !!

  • This relates to everyone. This band helps me understand things, and share Christ with my friends. <3

  • "why do you spread your arms and tell me im free?" i break down everytime

  • Isn't this Aaron's band?

So he's continuing with this band?

  • @shredingme yeah man, he left underoath :(

  • his voice...

  • gives me chills. excellent.

  • 4 people havent searched themselves for the truth, Jesus can help with that.

  • We're all terrible. We sin. This song makes so much sense, it's all true.

  • Love this song=)

  • ☮Peace

  • the 4 who disliked this are really dirty and left out

  • I love how "The Almost" is a Christian band and how Aaron Gillespie explains it and is giving his life to worship Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!!! :)

  • Also, i wouldnt think Jesus would want to be labeled as master or savior.. more like The truth.

  • @BloodMusicTrinity Dude He is master and savior and the truth!!!!!

  • marjoryclapton No one will like your post if you ask them to like -.- and we heard that saying 1000000000times so obviously no one will like it lol

  • Me-"Hey mom, I'm going out to kill four people"

    Mom- "Just you?"

Me-"Noo, me and 806 other people:)"

Mom-"Okay, just be home for supper."

    ---like this:).

  • Everyone fighting about whether this is religious or not, it could be taken either way. If you want to believe it is about God, then good for you! You found a song to help you connect with God. If you want to believe it's about a relationship, then great! He's a good song for you to listen to and possibly relate to yourself.

But hey, you know what's fun? Respecting differences :)

  • 4 people dislike. what?

  • Fuckin religion bullshit under every "almost" song, fuck up ppl!

  • @Splashy151 Maybe it's because The Almost is a christian band? ....Just a thought.

  • @Mistybluewhooo Not really! They're christian In name, But they're not a Christian band! And Everyone keeps having arguments under every vid...Ugh

  • @Splashy151 not to start an argument but they actually are a christian band. not just christian in name.

  • @dragx669 Okay I don't want to argue But Is are the members christian or The band sings about religion and shit?

  • @Splashy151 They're a christian band....

  • I loved this. Thank you for giving me an avenue to share this wonderful feeling!

  • This song to me is more then Jesus, I'm atheist and this song has great meaning of a part of that was and how I asked my very self for forgiveness. I shed tears instantly after hearing 'I've Been Dirtier then you Want to know'. Aaron and the band simply constructed the lyrics to something they hold dearly (Religion). The Moral of the story: Never give up, because there is always someone who loves you.

  • @HiImToxic I don't think Religion is what they hold dearly, but a Relationship..

  • Just finished watching their band play @ Overflow conference!

  • if other modern music was like this, we could change the world, people could do amazing things. Jesus is our savior and he loves us so much. god bless aaron gillepsie.

  • I went to church yesterday for the first time in about 14 years.I plan on having my cousin teach me to play this song on guitar so i can eventually play it in church :] this song is beautiful~

  • @coffeebubbletea I hope thats going well, I hope you stuck with it and are still learning and growing in God, God Bless

  • when i hear this song and right after listen to amazing because it is...i cry...an think god for letting me see another sunrise....arron i love that ur music actually speaks to me...well EVERYONE think u

  • Well prepare to be happy cause I LOVEEE ITTTT! ♥♥♥

  • God bless everyone of us and i pray that this sing everyone who listens to this song rather they just clicked on it but they listen not with their ears but with their hearts and the message stays written and engraved in there and one day it comes out and helps them to become a better person i pray for everyone bellow me and above me give them a stronger life and help the youth realize who jesus is and what miracles you can do father god

  • What is this song about taken from a view other then religion

  • @THEdevilWEARSprada29 you cant really take it any other way. He's talking to God basically. BUT he's basically just asking him why he (God) even bothers to stay by his side because he's done a lot of wrong. this song is about someone staying by your side and you feel like you dont deserve it

  • Lord forgive me... Please....

  • From what I'm going through to me it's not doing sins... but more it's like I'm rejecting God. Listening to this song makes me want to get on my knees and say Sorry I love You God and Your Beautiful. But I really can't ... my heart is literally clogging up, there's a barrier like wtf.

When stuff happens I think its a temporal moment and say oh I'll get over this, everything has it's time and It;s not mine. This girl told me to pray but how can you when you feel like no holy spirit is there?

  • @latinizxx This clogging up you have could be numerous amounts of things. First of all say pray a prayer acknowledging that that Christ died at the cross for your sins ask Him to come into your heart and into your life. Another thing, is you might want to get baptized if you have not been. When you get baptized you are giving the Lord faith by crossing your arms (as you're dead in sin) and when you come back up you're FULLY ALIVE. ALWAYS confess your sins. If you don't then Christ won't listen.

  • @latinizxx God Bless you, I admire your honesty. You're not the only one who feels like that. Sometimes, I have that problem too. However, it feels like every time I go to confession I am closer to Jesus and can feel his presence. It looks like you really want Jesus in your life, just ask him to come in. : ) I'll be praying for you!

  • its not about that, not to everyone. to some people they feel they should only have sex after marriage..his personal feeling is that he felt guilty for having premarital sex. everyone has different views on it, he felt ashamed for not waiting. god does forgive but that doesnt mean a person still cant feel ashamed and ask for gods forgiveness anyway. everyone is entitled to their own opinion, noone is being forced into one way of thinking, please show respect to others opinions and choices.

  • WOW THANK U GOD!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's amazing that no matter how much you hurt or deny Jesus that he still loves you, and still died to forgive you.

  • @NathanielBroombiz bro im not gonna lie but your comment literally made me tear up that's some epic saying thanks bro!

  • @NathanielBroombiz Before you were even born too, like before you did anything bad he said don't worry about it, you're safe with me.

  • Is nice to see a mature conversation <3

  • I'm not christian, but I really like this song. I don't think you have to be religious to enjoy good music

  • makes me cry, every time.

as for the meaning, it means whatever you make it mean to you.

  • To all wondering about the "guilt"...well I dont think they just meant about having sex before marrage.I think they meant like, how crappy of a person they felt like living in whatever sin.but its not even about guilt. Its like."How crazy is it that even though I've hurt You(God) so bad, You still want me!"It hurts God so bad when we sin against Him...He feels worse than when a best friend turns on you.So its crazy that even though weve hurt Him THAT much He still doesnt turn away from us:)

  • @jollyxjenny Couldn't agree with you more! No matter what you do God will always be there with his arms open. He will never forget about you or stop loving you. Even if you don't show him love or respect back, he will still love you.

  • It's not that they are hurting from premarital sex, it's the pain from separated from God.

  • having sex isnt hurting anyone god just wants us to stay pure untill we find the one we want to marry, and get married in the name of god

  • People, its a freaking SONG.

Does it really matter what its about ? You don't know the person who wrote it. You act like your close friends with these people. You're not. Its a songgg. Yes, you have your opinions but people come here to listen to music, not hear you freak out about religon or whatever. NO ONE CARES.

Just shut up, and if you don't like the song, don't listen to it. Plain and simple.

  • Having faith in God and wanting to follow in his word doesn't necessarily have to have anything to do with "religion." I don't consider Aaron to be a religious person. Definitely spiritual, not necessarily religious. This song is about his feelings and how he felt he was letting God as well as himself down. Not a very easy thing to do to come out and write a song about such a personal situation. He's not telling other people what to do and I respect him very much for that.

  • Who the fuck cares... it's a song. Respect music and if one chooses to write about religion, so be it. Don't get your nickers in a knot haters.

  • If you don't like the lyrics, don't listen to it.

  • one of my fav songs! Jesus Christ is Amazing! this song reminds me of my life.

  • Imagine he is in a port-o-potty singing this. priceless

  • Amazing song amazing meaning the end.

  • he dragx669 you spelled savior wrong ont saviour idot

  • this is such a good song, but why did he have to leave underoath

  • hhhhhhhhhhh, wtf aaron, as if underoath wasn't gay enough lyric wise. Fuck religion.

  • @DELTAFORCEADC You're entitled to your opinion, but come on. Did anyone ask you? Please go somewhere else to bash them because all it does is piss people off. As far as religion, I'm not exactly Christian, nor am I Atheist but you oughta keep comments like that to yourself. Religion is a personal thing and comments like those are the comments that keep the Religious wars going. Just keep to yourself bro. Same goes for the asshole who said "one person is an Atheist" show some respect, jeez.

  • @larry52333 thing is, i dont respect religion, and i like to arue with people who do believe in GOD cuz just like christians just go around the world trying to convert people cuz they think its right, i try to do the same, but convert people to athiests/agnostics

  • @DELTAFORCEADC Okay, that's just stupid. Do you even know what Agnosticism is? Certainly not the same thing as Atheism. Agnosticism is admitting you don't know if there's a God or not. Atheists do not believe in the existence of God. Agnostics don't give a fuck either way and usually keep to themselves about it. Atheists are usually just as strict in their views as Christians. You're making a fool of yourself and as someone with a neutral standpoint on religion I think you're just fueling fires.

  • @larry52333 there are different levels of agnostics

  • @DELTAFORCEADC Yes, there are, but you obviously have no concept of Agnosticism as a whole. Sure, there are some that will say "I honestly can't say if there's a God or not because I haven't died yet, but something inside tells me there probably isn't". Whereas you appear to believe that there isn't a such thing period and just feel like arguing with people about it. If that's the case, please don't use the term Agnostic as you're taking it out of context and shaming those who share the belief.

  • @larry52333 ok now your just nitpicking, i was more of a strong agnostic, which is you dont believe in god but dont deny the possibility, agnosticism is a very broad term. Also dnt complain about spelling either, you know wht i ment, dnt b a dick about it.

  • @DELTAFORCEADC Hey dude, I'm only being a dick to you because you're just trying to start arguments on here with people when you were already fully aware that this was a Christian band. Atheists complain about Christians being preachy and Christians complain about Atheists being immoral. Right now, YOU'RE being preachy and you're also being very irritating. Stop being so disrespectful and treat others the way you want to be treated. There'd be less flame wars if you can keep it to yourself.

  • @DELTAFORCEADC Before you insist on trying to "convert" anyone, you should probably learn to spell and use proper grammar first. Another thing is, if you're trying to convert everyone instead of minding your own business, it makes you look just as narrow-minded as the Christians who do it. Nobody is going to change for you, they are just going to think you are stupid. Please take that into consideration before starting an argument with me or anyone else.

  • @larry52333 but they can just look at my comment, and say ok whatever, they dont have to say something back

  • @DELTAFORCEADC Yeah, they could. But I have an even better idea. You don't have to leave a comment in the first place. If you don't expect anybody to read it, what it the point of posting it to get people angry? Your logic isn't making much sense.

  • @larry52333 well, my logic is tht people will just ignore the comment. Its just my comment, i didnt go find a religious comment and reply i just laughed, and said whatever.

  • :3 This makes me tear up..

  • I get fucking depressed every time i hear this song. My life is so fucked up. Its so good to cry. <3

  • @valariajazz i bet your life isnt as fucked up as mine (right now) :/

  • @valariajazz need to talk?

  • this song is so amazing i never payed attention how something like purity is so passionate and powerful and important to god i've been a christ follower for a couple of years now and i struggle with puruty almost on a everyday basis the only thing that keeps me pure and clean is knowing if jesus are lord and savior can do why cant i.

  • I Love this song..

  • @dragx669 forget religion then. Religion doesnt save Jesus does!!!!

  • Jesus, there's something about your name. <3

  • He came to my church today, Mountain View Family Church. He is my biggest inspiration. He sung this song, "Amazing, Because it is" and a couple other songs. And one thing I learned about him, is that- he's really outspoken. He had a lot of analogies and he had very strong opinions.

He literally makes me want to be more religious, more honest.

I had the honor of talking to him and Shane(: They're so sweet.

  • this song is awsome, well " The Almost " is awsome to.

  • While you're all arguing about religion, I might as well break into peer pressure and somehow compare this song to Justin Bieber, and Twilight, and then make a comment about the number of dislikes on this video, so you can all thumbs up my comment and make me feel popular. Youtube is so fucked.

  • these religious arguments are silly, it is obvious that those who ask questions and cause disruptions are in someway curious about the answer. god

  • I know how he feels. I feel like absolute dirt when I realise I'm doing something that hurts God.

  • 1 person is an atheist....

  • @UnusualDeletion Hey now... thats not cool. different opinion is what it is. insulting someone isnt helping any one...

    dont be hatin'.

  • @crazyorangeperson How does calling someone an atheist, in your logic, insult them, by recognizing it as an insult, your instituting a bad name for them, therefore insulting them yourself.

  • for awhile now ive been doubting my faith (ive totally turned my back away from God this summer) but this song makes me realizes how lucky i am that i believe in someone who is gonna love me no matter what. i dont like praying by myself but when i listen to songs like this it doesnt make me feel as alone.

And uk ive done some things tht goes against my religion tht i dont regret...but frankly i dont think that matters cause i still have my faith and i still try to be a good person (:

  • I love The Almost! <3 They almost make me want to try to believe in god again q:

  • To be completely honest, I've never been religious. Then again, I'm not anti-religious, by any means. I'm pretty interested in all of it though. Who knows, I've never tried it before and I've sorta been wondering what it would be like to have that definite belief, ya know? So, if anyone, knowledgeable, wants to help me with it all...like starting, I guess. That'd be great. Beautiful song btw.

  • this gets me Teary eyed.

    /= <3

    but GREAT song:)

  • i love this song :B

  • I don't know why religion has to be so guilt based.

This song is about having premarital sex. Why should you feel guilty about that? Who are you hurting by having sex?

  • @DizzyDior12 Religion isnt guilt based. And the reason you should feel guilty about it is because it is against the word of god and the guilt comes from the holy spirit telling you that what you have donw is wrong. Also you are hurting yourself because you are supposed to treat your body like a temple and by going against the word of god you are contaminating it.

  • @dragx669 ...If religion isn't guilt based then why would the Holy Spirit use guilt as a means of influencing people to do its will? You're basically saying that what's hurting me isn't the premarital sex, it's the fact that God told me not to have it and punishes me with guilt. So... what's hurting me isn't the act itself... it's God. Because if you take God out of the equation, premarital sex done right doesn't actually hurt anyone.

  • @dragx669 And I'm not trying to be a chode or anything by starting an argument. These are just things that I can't figure out about religion and I like hearing people's explainations. No offense intended.

  • @DizzyDior12 Yea i understand where your coming from one of my friends is the same exact way and i dont have all the answers about this cause im only 18 and i am not an expert on religion but i would recommend if you would really like to know more that you talk to a pastor or minister. and there was no offense taken.

  • @dragx669 dude you got the way this sounds. it sounds awesome. God will use you most definitely. and remember just because your 18 doesn't mean anything. your are defined by what you do not your age.

  • @dragx669 its not a relgion its a realshonship

  • @DizzyDior12 hey man the reason god uses guilt ever is because when were broken we are more able to reach people then if we were perfect if you get what i'm saying cause look at most people in the world today they are broken in some way it could be premarital sex or abusing drugs, i hope this sorta helps in someway this is the way i see things

  • @DizzyDior12 It's not about the guilt but the one who saves us from it! Religion is definitely guilt based but Christianity is a loving relationship with God.

That said, sex isn't wrong. In fact, God created us sexual beings. From the Christian standpoint its all about that moment when you give all of yourself to your loved one, two people who have committed to go through life together thick or thin (thats marriage).

Know Jesus and everything becomes clear =)

  • @rroknedaj Yeah. I can see that knowing Jesus makes things clearer for people. Like when they terrorize abortion clinics and hate gays and alienate people of different faiths, all in the name of Christ. It's really awesome.

Also, I'm not trying to be rude, but 50% of marriages end in divorce. And those I've seen stay together are generally the opposite of pleasant. So I don't really see any reason to force yourself to be with one person for the rest of your life when it doesn't come naturally.

  • @DizzyDior12 abortion=murder, guy marries a guy? do i have to tell u how ridiculous and wrong that is.True they do have feelings for guys, but it can change and it should change. We don't judge them, unless if u met religious Christians and got the wrong impression. Christians don't judge. The world judge. I can understand how people got the idea that Christians are judgmental and tell people they're going to hell and such, thats cuz they're strongly against the idea N they cant watch their mouth

  • @nevermoregg So because you think abortion is murder it's okay to harass women that get them? And because YOU are offended by the idea of two men falling in love it's okay to HATE them?

Wake up. YOU are the one hurting people here. Not "them". YOU.

  • @DizzyDior12 Define "hate". I don't "hate" or harass any women that have had abortion. And homosexual is OBVIOUSLY wrong since humans weren't created to do that. And I'm the one hurting people? I don't think ME or any Christians invented "stop being gay" or call everything we hate "gay". Oh yeah and just because you're feeling judged doesnt mean I'm judging you. Its just you and people are so sensitive that when others say something like "lesbian" or "emo" or "scene", ur instantly offended.

  • @DizzyDior12 I can understand why you would say and think some of those things. But calling yourself a Christian and knowing Jesus unfortunately can be 2 different things. There are many people that go to church every Sunday, listen to the pastor talk and then leave and continue a worldly lifestyle. I am sorry that you have felt judged before and that some "Christians" have ruined the way you see Christianity. A person who truly knows Jesus will show love to everyone just as Christ did.

  • @rroknedaj So true!!!!!!

  • @DizzyDior12 it's not a religion :o it's a relationship.

  • @dragx669 check out contendingfortruth dotcom

  • @dragx669 Conviction comes from the holy spirit, guilt is not a good thing. Guilt tells us we aren't good enough and causes depression and usually ends up in some sort of self destruction. Conviction tells us, this is wrong and I need to stop, leading us into repentance.

If I felt guilty about something I would want to crawl into a ball and hide while conviction would motivate me to come clean, ask for forgiveness, and change.

    Hope this helps, God Bless.

  • @dragx669 ive seen it as being in addition to going against what God says and all but also it hurts your significant other. most ppl can attest sex changes the dynamics of a relationship and after a while, after numerous partners it loses its, for lack of a better word, meaning. its like being able to drive. The first time is special but after a while it gets old. Once lost its tough to regain it. It develops into a trust issue with your Other into thinking will they have it again and so forth.

  • @dragx669 i think that is an awesome reply and a loving one too..

    god is gonna use you!

  • @dragx669 wow thats deep lol... but i completely agree

  • @DizzyDior12 in a practical sense a sexual relationship wreaks destruction on society. extrapolate it in your mind - unwanted pregnancies, a cycle of endlessly broken families, broken hearts, disease. apart from these obvious practical realities, there are spiritual ones that are more difficult for someone who doesn't accept the bible to comprehend - according to the bible, sodomy defiles the land for example - that's sodomy as in anal OR oral sex - homosexuality, etc.

  • @projectoutdream That kind of thing CAN happen when you have premarital sex. But it can also happen when you get married in a church before God. 51% of all marriages end in divorce.

And how in the fuck does anal sex defile the LAND? It doesn't.

You're pretty naive if you think that the things people do today are any different than the things they did thousands of years ago. What can you expect but lawlessness when the laws don't make sense?

  • @DizzyDior12 infamous satanist aleister crowley, suggested, "do as thou wilt shall be the whole of the law." lawlessness. satan's heart's desire. the word lawlessness (iniquity) occurs about 13 times in the bible. sin *is* lawlessness *is* iniquity. (1john3:4). that's what man's fallen state is about, tending towards lawlessness rather than righteousness. "the man of lawlessness" (2thessalonians2:3) is the antichrist you've heard of & the secret power of lawlessness(2 Thessalonians 2:7) is here.

  • @projectoutdream We're just more inclined to admit today that we don't want to follow God's laws because they don't make sense most of the time. "Love your neighbor." Makes sense. "Beat your slave, but only to the point where he can get up after a few days, not to death." Not so much.
