@juah586 actually, if you look deeper into the real ancient chinese history we, hmong, have our own kung fu style. Long ago, Chinese just came and absorb our hmong kung fu into their own fighting style. Kung fu is only matter if you know how to use it properly and every fighting styles are unique in each its own ways.
@juah586 to say the truth, kungfu is not really chinese nor hmong or anybody's. kungfu is based on urself. the name just came from chinese as far as known. anyone who can throw a punch and/or a kick (which should be everyone w/o disabilities), has their own kungfu.

thank goodness, the hmong american movie industry is trying to connect with the hmong youth today. in the past ten years, all the hmong movies that were made only target old folks and they have no quality or moral values in them at all. good thing this hmong movie production is trying to connect the hmong youth with hmong movies and bring changes to the hmong community. i can't stand those hmong movies made in thailand, laos, etc. dr. tom and etc are such jokes and devalue the hmong culture.
Wow, good work guys...Hmong movies have come a long way. Hope some of the American actors/director such as Clint Eastwood/Jackie Chan will watch some of the movie and promote our Hmong community into the next level. We'll surely support you guys when your movies come out. Hope 10 years from now, our Hmong movie industry will be 100 times bigger/better. Keep up the good work.
Finally great job guy. Im really looking forward to see this movie. Wow im just so impress of what you guys did.. Hopefully this will motive our hmong community love each other and work as a team rather than judging one another...Keep up the good work..
@Daylightghetto the amount of time it takes depends on the individual; how hard and dedicated he/she is. martial arts is its own category, acting is its own category. u can learn martial arts for performance/acting, or learn for real combat. this is just a documentary video assignment, unless if you're talking about the movie opposite blood, it'll be release summer of this year(2011). the other movie "Puav Pheej" was already released back in 2006. Not sure yet about the theaters.
Making a Movie is not as easy as people Think. It takes alot of support, dedications and hard work just to make a Movie. No movie will turn out to be Perfect :)
But we all just need to support one another :) I just don't really like seeing any Hmong actors/actress from the US being the Phab Ej. I'd prefer to have the Actors/Actress from Thailand, someone that people doesn't know or someone that is worth of being the Phab Ej :)
My husband and his friends they know mauy thai fight whatever that spell. They used to learn it from thailand. And i should that there;s alots of hmong ppls know mauy thai or kung fu over there... you guys should do a audience for that :D
Enough of these fighting...n get with the program of more sex moves like Jame Bond! The Asian people are tired of watching same old shit from the 80's.
is this actually you? can u train me i wanna be ina movie...im not good but im willing to work hard
