@8310silas. Those scenes you are talking about are from past episodes, the map thing, that's from after Otis "died" after Carl got better and they start searching for Sophia and things like that. Watch the Nebraska promo they ask them how Sophia got in the barn and that's what Hershel said, but it could be a trick they are doing, you never know.

On the Talking Dead Chris Hardwick and the creators of the show said Otis put her in the barn without Hershel and the others knowing, because they let Otis take care of the Walkers before Carl was shot, so she must have died the day after she went missing. And they didn't start searching for Sophia until after Otis died and Carl was better. If Shane hadn't killed Otis, then Otis would have told them what happened, because I am sure the mother has a picture of her, or a good description.

@PinasTVC. The creators said it was because they wanted to make the show it's own thing, different from the comic, so for people who did read the comic won't know who's going to die or not. I bet they also did it for ratings, to get more people tuned in, because that was unexpected, did not see that coming when I first watched it. I don't know who's going next. Better not be Daryl, if they kill of Daryl, they better kill off Shane.

I was speechless when I saw Sophia walking out of the barn, couldn't they have Shane turned as a zombie or the old man instead of her, that last episode was brutal in my opinion because they should not show any killing of kids in my opinion, I thought the scene of the dude that was pulled from the well that was crazy enough when he split in 2 and now this. Very very emotional but at least they found her. Walking dead series are the best, I cant wait for february next season, dont you?

This teaches everyone that these zombies were people once, they had fears and hopes and dreams, they had people who loved them, they had lives. That is why when you kill them, you should do it with respect, not like what Shane and some of the others did. I didn't like who they showed Sophia's fate, I was hoping she was alive, but they did it, because to show the humanity of the show. It was sad, but it was brilliant. wow. I was shocked.

@marianOyeah they touched on it during The Talking Dead...Otis was the one who found Sophia and brought her to the barn. since Hershel told Rick that Otis was the one who corraled the walkers. and Shane killed Otis long before of any talk of looking for Sophia even started at the farm. **sigh** so sad to see her go like that...but I had a feeling.
