@Mutterjunge The movies are compilations of the show. Much of the plot is gutted and abridged. Entire battles are removed and much of the dialogue is changed to go with the cuts. We miss much of the drama with the abridgement. When Ryu dies it is much better in the show and we never see M'quve duel Amuro and he comes off as a dick in the films instead of a noble loyal soldier like the serial. The new animation in them looks nice but most of the drama is gone. I can watch all the eps back to back
Opposite with me. I prefer the pacing in the movies and the atmosphere. its much more hard sci-fi as opposed to the show's gundam hammers and beam tridents and in line with Tomino's vision and the rest of the shows. Most fans are pretty split on the movies/show though. You either love one or hate the other.
ah yes the old music first soldiers of sorrow now encouters in space federation vs zeon had this on at the end i thought it was trashy at first but then again i was six and was into the pokemon theme tune now 10yrs down the line its amazing music can change
@NatakuGundam15 Gundam is a sophisticated deep program. I was 15 when I first bought all three movies on their initial stateside releases after liking Wing and was hooked off the bat. Finally a mecha anime that has realistic characters and a down to earth lead to boot not to mention enemy mass produced suits that are the best in my opinion of all the Gundam antagonists. Wing afterwards felt and still feels very empty and lacking. There is just not enough substance for what is shown on screen.
same here when i was playing Gundam Vs, Zeta Gundam and this song was playing in the Abo A Qu stage... at first i though it was corny, but as the song went on corniness truned into tears, but i still kept on fighting with tears and a hot-blooded feeling in me. Long live Amuro and Char and the Original Mobile Suit Gundam. Long live Tomino too for this aweinspiring series.
Oh god.
That is so haunting.

Finally. I find this theme.

They must make a anime version of Dynasty Warriors Gundam 1 or 3 and this song must be in it.

I disliked the English dub to the movies, but the song made it better!

@xraider169 The only english movie dubs were vhs 1999 releases. They have never been released in English on DVD.

When sad thing happened in 0079, I really cared, in zeta they killed half the crew and you would barely bat an eye.

Brings a tear to my eye listening this. Gundam was the 1st anime I ever heard and listening to this brings me back to when I was a kid.

@timediveralpha If you can understand the lyrics the melody fits perfectly.
