Absurd, in training we teach our soldiers that the basic school of thought in warfare isn't to kill as many combatants as you can, rather, it's to take the will to fight out of the enemy before you're ever engaged. They attack and then blend in with the innocent civilians. They are the same thing as spies under the Geneva Convention. How can a person be proved to be in alliance with the enemy if they aren't given fair trial? Gingrich makes no sense. We can't strip a US citizen of his or her rights without proving that they have committed the acts they're being accused of, which requires that they be given fair trial in an American court of law. So, yes, an American citizen - even when accused of going against us in war - IS entitled to fair trial in court.

Absurd, in training we teach our soldiers that the basic school of thought in warfare isn't to kill as many combatants as you can, rather, it's to take the will to fight out of the enemy before you're ever engaged. If that fails, the goal becomes to effectively put more rounds downrange and flank the enemy to kill/capture. It's easy to speak of 'war' and killing I suppose when you've never seen it in person. An individual can not declare war on a nation just as a nation can not declare war on an organization, if that was the case, why doesn't anyone declare war on gangs, the mob or drug cartels? Are they not actively engaged in killing Americans? The Constitution says you can not deprive a citizen of LIFE, LIBERTY or Property without due process meaning a court review.

@Senehtsotara The Navy Seals got Bin Laden under the obama administration thanks to information obtained during water-boarding interrogations under the Bush administration. You know that technique that obama expressly forbid and criticized... So one could rightly say that Bin Laden was destroyed DESPITE obama's best efforts in hindering the process.

There cannot be a military coup in favor on Gingrich because it violates the oath everyone who joins the Army takes. But I like how someone who has never spent a day in the military is talking about what the military is going to do.

There is nothing in the Constitution that says Ron Paul gets to decide what is Constitutional and what isnt. Ron Paul is the guy who voted against the Federal government doing anything to help after Katrina because he said it was unconstitutional for the government to do anything. @knight4justice The Supreme Court!? Good luck with that. Ron Paul isn't my favorite politician but he does have something nearly every congressman lacks; a shred of decency. (come to think of it, quite a few things; a backbone, a sense of honor, a brain). If it was politically expedient for all the monkeys in congress to vote against sending help to Katrina victims, democrats and republicans alike would have voted along with Ron Paul, but not out of principal or care for the greater good.

When there is almost 2000 Americans who die in a natural disaster and thousands are made homeless, out of a sense of humanity and patriotic duty everyone should help to save more American lives. Ron Paul lacks any patriotism, honor, or humanity which is why he voted agaisnt helping victims of Katrina while the crisis was still continuing.
