Will taking one pellet of silicea 30 c once a month be a good way to treat my autoimmune condition of the scalp? My personality seems to closely fit the remedy. Thank you

A homeopath once prescribed for my autoimmune condition of the scalp silicea 30c. He had me swirl the pellet in water, take a sip of the water and throw out the rest of the water with the undissolved pellet. He had me repeat this process the next day and then see him the following month. Is this a typical way of taking a homeopathic remedy? He said he did it this way so as to avoid an aggravation. On my own I am retrying the silicea 30 c. I took only one pellet under the tongue yesterday.
