Ok..first of all peeps..Robs wife has Lupus..a horrible autoimune disease that damn near paralyzes it's victims when it hits and it comes in waves similar to M.S...now the lefty guitarist is Matt Beck..any of you numb knutts recognize the last name..didn't think so..He is playing a normal right hand strung guitar upside down left handed..it is not a lefty guitar or strung lefty.. Paul Mcartney has been doing the same thing since the 60's. leftys often learn on righty guitars just upside down..

For everybody thats saying he's just left handed he really is playing it upside down. The thicker string (Low E string) is supposed to be at the top and the thinner string (High E string) is supposed to be at the bottom. Also if you look real closely you can see his pickguard at the top of his guitar, which is supposed to be at the bottom.

At 3:39 it's clear that his guitar is strung for a right-handed player, and flipped, Hendrix style. That's why it doesn't sound quite right when you play the exact same chords and follow the same strum pattern.

i have a friend who learned to play on his father's guitar which was for a right hander, and his left handed, it did'nt stop him. he flipped it over for his left handed playing, upside down strings and all and now it's the only way he could play ....and man he can play.

Saw them do the second show of the Sidewalk Angels foundation tour on Friday (7/16) night at Grand Casino Hinckley. It was AWESOME. The whole show was acoustic. Matt Beck and Kyle Cook were AMAZING. Rob Thomas was FABULOUS. If you get the chance to see them, GO!

my family loves this song, I found out Rob Thomas's wife is battleing lupus. I have fibromialgia and am in chronic pain. It is very hard for a family to watch a loved one in pain but listening to these lyrics make me see what my family has been going through for years. Knowing they cant help you and can't take the pain away. it amkes me realize while I can't handle the pain my family can't handle me being in pain. Where is God?

@JoshKerrMusician No, he's actually playing the guitar upside down. If you look closely when the camera is close up on the guitar, you can see the strings are even upside down. The thicker strings that should be on top are actually on bottom. It's strange, no doubt.

I seen Rob and Matt perform a snipet of this song on the Rachel Ray show yesterday. He wrote this song for his wife. She has a disease that's not treatable and he wrote this to show his empathy and sympathy for her situation. Poor woman. Glad she has a great man like Rob in her life to help her along and support her.

this is such a well written and thoughtful song. especially knowing about his wife, I fully respect Rob Thomas' chops as a song writer and he has a wonderful live voice which is refreshing.

Saw them do the second show of the Sidewalk Angels foundation tour on Friday (7/16) night at Grand Casino Hinckley. It was AWESOME. The whole show was acoustic. Matt Beck and Kyle Cook were AMAZING. Rob Thomas was FABULOUS. If you get the chance to see them, GO!

my family loves this song, I found out Rob Thomas's wife is battleing lupus. I have fibromialgia and am in chronic pain. It is very hard for a family to watch a loved one in pain but listening to these lyrics make me see what my family has been going through for years. Knowing they cant help you and can't take the pain away. it amkes me realize while I can't handle the pain my family can't handle me being in pain. Where is God?

@greenpants5000 I have fibromyalgia as well and i know how it is. Just hang in there...God is here. Make a food journal see what your allergic to and change your diet, I have regained my life from these changes. I hope God Blesses you and you heal someday, sooner than later...

@xoxoxmusic4everxoxox He is. He is right handed while playing guitar, which we see as upside down because most people are left handed when it comes to guitars, even if they write with their right hand.

@JoshKerrMusician No, he's actually playing the guitar upside down. If you look closely when the camera is close up on the guitar, you can see the strings are even upside down. The thicker strings that should be on top are actually on bottom. It's strange, no doubt.

I seen Rob and Matt perform a snipet of this song on the Rachel Ray show yesterday. He wrote this song for his wife. She has a disease that's not treatable and he wrote this to show his empathy and sympathy for her situation. Poor woman. Glad she has a great man like Rob in her life to help her along and support her.
