  • i think most of these sirens sound the same... am i wrong?

  • @frickinasshle They really do, especially a lot of the modern, monotone ones. Back in the days of Civil Defense, they were very diverse in both sound and looks, but once CD funding dried up, everyone stopped making all the funky-sounding/looking sirens and started making the same basic design.

  • how many ports are on a 1000

  • @MrSciencetificsasuke Five, same as a single tone Model 2 (same rotor). One stator port though, obviously lol

  • @murrfarms thanks

  • I think my Model 2 spins better. :P

  • Doesn't need a rotator to spin anymore!

  • @Droideka133 Nope! Must miss being united with the rest of its head lol

  • where did you get the thunderbolt chopper from?

  • Sounds great! Love the way these higher pitched ThunderBolts sound.

Gonna attach a horn on it someday, or keep it as a "Model 2 in a can"?

  • Thanks! Hopefully I'm gonna attach a horn to it and see how deep the bass goes on it. I've been playing around with a 2T22 cone on it and it really kicks it out even with that! I'll have to post a video of that experiment up as soon as I can run it again.

  • No you cannot borrow my thunderbolt horn.

  • Haha don't plan on it, that sumbitch is too heavy to even think about using on it

  • LOL.

  • Oh and by the way...that's what she said

  • i never seen a MODEL 2 ROTATE!....

  • it must think it's attached to its rotator...

  • LOL my thoughts exactly! So many years in service and it still can't help but rotate when it's activated.

  • One thing, why does it have Model 2 legs on and no brush assembly..?

  • *collector ring brush assembly

  • The brush assy. was taken off to fix another 'bolt, and I stole the legs off of my other Model 2 so I could make it stand up without it taking off rolling across the deck. lol

  • ah i see ;) You have another Model 2? oos

  • Yep I have a single tone Model 2-120 as well as the Darley 2T.

  • Why no videos of it? :/ and what about your 5?

  • There are a few of it from when I was running that one while the 2T was torn down for a rebuild. Here's one of it doing the evening blast on the deck: /watch?v=ynWoHF8isLE

I haven't gotten the 5 here from Illinois yet, but a friend is coming down for a visit this month from Illinois, and he's bringing it down with him. :)

  • ooh ok awesomesauce

  • Whoa, nice! Boy do I wish I had a chopper cap..

  • Awesome! Whatch me spin HA!

  • Nice Ian! Would that also be a Model 2?

  • Yeah they're basically the same thing. Same motor and rotor, but with a different stator.

  • Great video, Ian! It sounds nice!

  • lol, "Watch me spin!" Great job, Ian. Are you getting the thunderbolt siren head and the other parts, or just the chopper?

  • Where is the 2t22 video from yesterday?

  • Oh shit, I forgot to edit that one! Hold on, it'll be up in a minute.
