THAT is typical DnC show if i ever seen one. or any show where they trust even their drunkest fans. Pure southern Rock! No harm no foul! good times had by all. Don't do that again drunk man! You shouldda learned to play yourself!
I was at this show, and that drunk guy pushed me on the way out of the venue after the show to vomit in a trashcan I was walking past. One of the greatest nights of my life. Can't wait to see them Friday in Athens.
Good 'ol Clay Leverett. He's a well known Athens local musician. He's a friend of the band, but had way too many that night. Clay frequently collaborates on stage with lots of different bands, and has his own band, which is good, when he's not completely trashed. I will say, however, that he has on more than one occassion, accidentally tripped and unplugged me from my amp, mid-song, when he jumped onstage with me and my band.
i prolly would have made my way to the front, offered to give the guy a five and then grab him and pull his dumb ass back into the crowd where he ges stepped on a few times like he deserves.
He must be someone they know. Why else would the rhodhie guy hooked him up. He must be their friend or fellow musician, otherwise hed be ousted. I work shows, security wont alow that shit!

He has shared the stage with tons of other bands, including the Drive By Truckers. He shares the stage w/ us from time to time as well. Looks like Clay had a few too many that night. lol
Anyone that wants a copy of this show ( the professional taping, that is!) Go to the drivin n cryin website and send a request to king for the Blackberry smoke and DNC at center stage dvd. its free! I got mine the other day, it looks great, plus it has a bunch of extras.
that was surreal. especially the kid with a guitar as big as him on stage. i got to hang out with that guy one drunken night. he attracts chaos, but in a good way.
thanks for posting that, i had to see that again, i was there, and was like WTF? who is this drunk guy... why are they not kicking him off the stage, and WHY did someone hand him a guitar! Then, a KID shows up! wow. We saw that guy puking his guts out after the show. Apparently his name is Clay Leverett, an Athens musician (Lona) and played drums for bright eyes, and has a habit of getting really drunk at shows. So I think Kevn knew who he was.
