wheelchairby284 you do not know of what you speak, read the time lines. Benteen meets up with Reno at around 4:20pm the heavy fighting is over at the Custer field by 5:10-12pm. The pack train gets to Reno and Benteen at 5:25pm. At 5:25pm Wier gets to Wier's point and the battle is over.

Now what did that note say: Ps Bring packs...

Custer's luck ran out that is all, there is no grant I plan to get him killed as some would have. Reno still has to protect his wounded, what would you do?

Anyone watched "Little Big Man"?General Custer was a jerk to his captains,Benteen and Reno, he led his army into a deathtrap and at a swift instant, he had fallen very quickly.I can't imagine him as president of the United States.However, I love his 7th calvalry unit that massacred the natives.Brutal and inhumane, yet bodly.A proud american there...

Custer was not scalped because he was almost bald at the time this battle happened. THAT is a FACT. His scalp was not worthy to bother with. The Indians had NO idea who he was until a good while after the battle. THAT also is a FACT.

Bravery Custer got his whole company slautered,he divided his smaller force, refused to wait for reinforcements, and refused to listen to his scouts and officers warning him they were massively outnumbered and out gunned.

Benteen was to blame for the defeat at little Bighorn. he had a grudge against Custer and left him to die. Reno had already been in the fight, and didn't have enough men out of the 90 he started with to save custer in time.

@wheelchairby284 Benteen was definity slow at the LBH. I think he assumed Custer had a victory and he resented the possible glory. He could have got there see John Gray's itenerary. He and Reno hated Custer. I do not know if they could have saved Custer or others they just did not try. General Terry was luck that Custer took the hit not him.

Personal opinion: I hate this. It's all wrong.

The only time people want to bring up NDN's is when they bring up the past. Last time I looked I am living in 2011 and get told "You don't look NDN."

Yep, I don't live in a Teepee either. When I don't have to explain this anymore I will check to make sure pigs aren't flying.

American's are a back drop in my history and not the other way around.

The sooner people want to bring up current and future NDN's (not just past ones) the better.

This certainly was not a massacre the people back then didn't know better, Custer's action there were far from foolish. Were based on a brutally simple plan. He only obeyed orders nothing wrong with that..

@Tomahawkz1000 Well....if you read the most reliable testimonies and evidence available; Custer was left un-scalped, possibly because he is said to have taken off his Buckskin jacket before the battle; which could have prevented the Indians from distinguishing him as an officer.

They did however severely mutilate his brother Tom Custer....perhaps thinking he was in command?

@runescapenoob48 He wasn't scalped because a bunch of Cheyenne women pleaded that he be left alone because he'd taken a Cheyenne mistress. It had nothing to do with him being brave. Beside that he tried to sieze women and children hostages from the Lakota village to save his skin like he did at the Washita River in 1868. He was once court-martialed for being AWOL.

Why should they leave? It's their ancestrial land for centuries, and the fact that we told them to leave is unjust. The fact that the natives fought in the face of certain defeat is one of the bravest acts in history against the injustice of the white settlers. Custer is rotting in hell alongside Hitler.
