dude - dont blame British !! Theygave us everything - railways, roads - we goddamned indians wasted 50 years following immature policies like socialism- ICS was the "Steel Framework" - we indians renamed it to IAS - and reduced it to a corruption machine.
India is a poor nation and a populous one at that, social services and the government just cannot cope up with such a vast land and its teeming population, therefore the contrasts you have highlighted. India is a land of contrasts and labor is cheap, therefore the run by western countries to get work done cheaply there. It costs M&S GBP3 for a shirt that is sold in high street at GBP50 and I am no exaggerating. As long as such vast gaps in economic conditions exist, the business will exploit. Ta
There are no public forums that explains where did the Tax money we are paying but paying a share of our salaries goin... And on top of it.. Indian politics runs on the mercy of 2 political parties and 1 family....Thats how Indian politics is and its a mockery these days!!!!

Good video... I don't really get words how to explain this .. There are 2 kinds of people who exist in India... filthy Rich and the other one is Filthy poor.. ..Middle class just exist like that..just for the sake of living... BTW I am an Indian and I know its gonna take 100 more years to pull up all those poor people to a middle class level... Saying that....These people who 'em selves call poor add up to the population reproducing 4 times in 5 years.... I hate it.They dont realize that!!!
india isnt the cleanest country in the world or the fanciest country like america or france but hells yeah india rox ur sox. i luv india even though i wasnt even born in india. those who talk shit about india are just jelous.
Ur right.. India isnt poor. But wait a minute.. what does India have to show for it ?? Wher is the "Rich" infrastructure ?? Take a trip to ur neighbor up north (China). Ud probably get a reality bite after that.
Oh stop defending India.. Everything about India is backward except maybe its old n rich culture. But this isnt the middle ages anymore. Wake up n smell the 21st century buddy.
my friend , let me tell u a small secret i studied in andrews high scholl , situated in selimpur , between jadhpur park and dhakuria , i beleive u r a bengali , so am i , i think we have abused each other enough , i cannot abuse a fellow Bengali , no matter what his views are , u see , Indians who live and work outside India are also doing this country a graet service , by sending foreign exchange , the same foreign ex change of usd 200 bn , of which u r so proud ,
let me ask u one thing , look at the roads leading out of jadavpur, ask urself r u proud of them wont u like them to be better, dont answer me , after these comments i am not going to continue withis subject . may god bless u
u stupid fucking bastard , who told u i am a westerner , i am indian , and i know what is india , instead of contructive criticsms , bigoted and xenophobic bastards like u who live in slums and and have justgot access to the internet , are blind , u r the fucking people who are the kuwe ka mendak , who cannot see anything beyond the the shit in which they wallow. wake up open ur eyes and then write .
this is called democracy!! You can not force people to move from their homes to jst increase the beauty of shoping mall. This is called human equality. It does not matter you are poor or rich because u r in india which is world's largest democrace. We are not like CHINA who force its poor people to move from Beijing or Shanghai to make cities more beautiful. We can also do this but we are democracy. If u know what is democracy than i think u will understand what i want to say.
ssam00 are u nuts. Where in the video has kavorkaa stated that he ENJOYS watchin the poor suffer. His (kavorkaa) intention was to show the GAP between the rich and the poor in India, livin next to each other.

India is not claiming to be the 'next superpower.' International investment firms who specialize in investment and market allocation claim that India has the potential to be the next emerging power, along with China and Russia. One needs the insight of notions into Economics and Finance. Growing middle class - 350 million +, fourth-largest economy, rising GDP, yet abundant with low-income people who contribute to other sectors of the economy: agriculture, construction, mining, and so forth.
no,it doesnt not please me one bit,the video was made to show how big the wealth gap is in india, how you could go fron a stinky slum to a air-con shoping mall just down the road wich for many of us is quite shocking,i dont see or hear nothing in the video that might have given you such impression
Things are improving, but cool video. I'm sure you would have seen the same in China in terms of poverty, but in China, the government can sweep poor people out to distant corners of the city. It's not possible in a democratic country like India.
Meanwhile, there's a lot of manufacturing and industry setting up shop in Tamil Nadu. That provides a decent standard of living for people without computer science degrees, so hopefully we'll see a movement out of the slums!
im sure they are improving, and you are right about china, wait till the olympics come, democracy is a shield, even slum dwellers can cast a vote in a democracy.thanks for posting

India isn't claiming to be the nest superpower; some observers in india and outside of india have seen trends that point in that direction. That doesn't mean much. There's loads of poverty in India, but things will hopefully get better with slum upgrading projects and microfinance. If not, then that would be very unfortunate and sad, wouldn't you agree? No morally upright person would wish ill on their neighbors now would they? :-)
its cuz u are a paki u can't take it, india also has worlds richest people, and a big middle class. There are slums, u can't make everyone happy w/ such huge population. have u checked ur own country, karachi ranks second in the world in slums after mexico city

its a harsh reality that there is a lot of poverty in india. but take my example only. my family went from rags to almost riches. we now form the middle class of india and I spent my childhood in slums. Things hv really changed, thanks to our education, my area 'Jogeshwari west' in mumbai was nothing but full of slums and stables and now look at jogeshwari..sizzling with skyscrapes i took a video of my pigeons from my terrace and u can hv a view..
yes,but in mumbai things might be different,in bihar or harissa you might well be living in a slum for three generations still, and worse, thinking its fair you are living in a slum due to the whole religion and caste system.its education what makes a coliflower out of a cabbage, you are right.thanks for posting

My life was permanently changed for the good because of my time in India. I Love you India. I vacationed in Nepal & ultimately plan on living out what's left of my life there.

India is a disgusting slum. More than a MILLION people die there because they drink sour. They evacuate along the river that cross Delhi.
What a disgusting reality.
They are worse than Africa. INdia is the TOILET of the world. Actually, they have NO toilets! India is just the Sxxx of this planet.
