  • Ignore my first question in the post, i missed it in the video where you flipped over the hoop to put in the second rivet.

I still wanted to know about the quick-release buttons though, did you intend to drill through the hoop only to put a single button connector in? Thanks so much.

  • @DJStickyFusion All you need to do is drill through the top of the hoop, not through both sides.

I see you have a DJ name, got a place I can hear what you spin?

  • @TheSpinsterz Hey man, certainly. I have a set that I DJ in DC last year called Electric Collective. I am working on a brand new set that is going to blow some minds, great energy, not to say the one that is there isn't good LOL. Here is the link and let me know what you think.

  • @TheSpinsterz It won't let me post the URL to it in any shape or for so go to Soundcloud(dot)com(slash)stickyfusion(slash)sticky(hyphen)fusion(hyphen)electric and you should see it.

  • @TheSpinsterz Did you take a listen to the set? What did you think?

  • I have read through the comments and I don't see anything about the following:

    1. In your video you drilled through the entire hoop and only put in 1 rivet, are 2 meant to go in there?

    2. I do see where you said the quick-release button connectors with 2 buttons would work fine but aren't required. I also noticed you drilled through the entire hoop for that as well, did you intend to only put one hole so you don't have an empty hole on the other side?

Thanks so much and this video, its great.

  • what size rivet do you use? and what size drill bit? same size or smaller than the rivet itself? great tutorial, thanks so much for posting.

  • @texxxann This question has been answered previously. Please look through the comments to find your answer.

    Thanks,

    Brandon

  • Ok, I'm making my hoop.. about to tape it, and was wondering which way do I push the snap button in?! the the open mouth side is facing my rivets ir the other way around?! Eeep! Don't wanna miss-drill those holes... I'll have a sad.

PS -> thanks for all ur videos! You guys rock!

  • @crimelessraver I put them in with the mouth facing out, but you can really put them in either way.

  • @TheSpinsterz

Thanks! Almost done! Your video was such a big help! Thanks!!!

  • gracias arigatogosaimasu

  • what size snap buttons are you using?

  • @octoberbaby30th Head height of .39" Head diameter of .240"

  • can you show us how your collapsible hula hoops will look once we are finished pls?

  • @octoberbaby30th Yes I can, but I am on the road to Fire Drums, so I can't get it done for a week or so.

  • what didn't you end this video with showing us the end result? I'm trying to make this hope but i don't know if your hoop looks like the other collapsible hoops I've seen. originally l wanted to make a figure 8 collapsible hoop. can you show ppl how to make those?

  • @octoberbaby30th I don't make figure 8 hoops. I bet there's a tutorial out there that shows this though.

  • What a great video! You make it look unbelievably easy making that hoop!!!! I will probably have to buy one though as I'm not very handy LOL! I love when you say "Wow! A new taped hoop!" after that short pause, as it takes me hours to tape a hoop!" Made me laugh! :)

  • @evervessence ahhhh, that magic of video!

  • sweet! good deal man, very helpful. love all the discs in the background!

  • Would double sided snap buttons work alright? I found some at the Home Depot by my house but they don't have the single sided ones.

  • @NinjaKittySayFail Yes, that would work fine. I would suggest putting them in up and down as apposed to sideways, this way when your hooping your body won't press up against the button.

  • @NinjaKittySayFail What were they called at home depot or what section did you find them in? Thank you!!!

  • you make the rivet tool look so easy...my wimpy little girl hands didn't think so. Thanks for the instructional, I now have pretty hoops to travel with.

  • @alannabegonias 3/4" 160 PSI Polyethylene

  • Where do you order the snap buttons at the bulk amount?? I can only find them online in the 10 packs only.

    Thanks so much!~

  • @Boozeenio you can get them from thespinsterz (dot) com

  • @Boozeenio Where do you find them at in 10 packs?

  • Do you put Rivets on both sides? I think when you drilled, you drilled all the way through the hoop, correct?

  • @hulaerobix You don't need to have them on both sides. One per side is enough to hold the connectors in place

  • Where did you get the disconnect tool for the push buttons (assist with taking the hoop apart) ? ... or what is it?

  • @hulaerobix I make them.

I can put them for sale on my website soon. Look next week as this week is super busy for me.

  • You are an angel, I like your free and willing nature to sharing this information.

  • what a smokin hotty!

  • Good video !!!

  • This looked like lots of fun! Power tools and hooping, can it get any better?

  • Thanks for this video too:)))

  • this is an awesome video. thanks so much. very well produced. Im a hoopcrafter but never made a collapsible. Need one as I am traveling via air in like a month. Thanks!

  • Where did you get the plastic fasteners?

  • The plastic couplings, if that is what you are referring to came from Home Depot.

  • @TheSpinsterz i tried looking for those at home depot and they didnt have a clue what i was talking about and i couldnt find them either.

  • @leopardqueen86 They're called "pvc insert couplings". They come in 1/2", 3/4", 1" and 2" I believe. But some home depots do not know what they are becuase they do not carry them. Home depots in urban areas tend to not carry anything for irrigation. You may need to try a home depot in a rural area.

  • @eleonard119 Home Depot

  • Can you use 1 inch tubing?

  • The connectors I supply are for 3/4" I.D. tubing. The tubing is 1" O.D.

  • Comment removed

  • Is the rivet size you mentioned good to use for a 3/4" tubing?

  • yes it is. It will work for 100 PSI and 160 PSI. It will not work for smaller 1/2" tubing though.

  • Spinsterz man - what make of tubing cutter is that? Thanks!

  • Bought it at Ace Hardware. Ratcheting tube cutter, about $15

  • Many thanks Brandon. I've just got to find an equivalent up here in Canada. It will save me much sawing and de-burring time.

  • hi brandon, wow! much thanks for the fab video!! this is by far the best info that ive found on collapsible hoops.

2 questions, if you dont mind-1) can you pls tell me what size rivets? and 2) have you ever made a hoop with 4 sections instead of 3? id like to be able to pack it down smaller, so thought id ask you before i try.

THANKS!! btw, i just ordered your kit, cant wait to try it out. happy hooping!

  • Sure.

1 - Rivet Dia 1/8 In, Rivet Length 0.400 In, Head Diameter 0.250 In, Head Height 0.04 In, Grip Range 0.188-0.250 In ----- The Diameter and the Grip range are the two things you really want to pay attention to.

    2. - Yes I do make 4 section hoops. I was selling them on my website, then took them off, because the 3 section ones seem to work just fine for most people.

  • thanks for the help brandon, much appreciated!

  • Ha! That cracked me up. THanks!

  • Your video style reminds me of Mr. Rogers Neighboorhood. Kudos to all of your new and informative videos. I hope they are bringing in business for you, you deserve it!
