these cunts are fuckin idiots poor bulls i work where we kill cattle i have no sypmathy for them dying but doin thise is fuckin mentally stupid like a little kid
Thank you nerblebun. I was born in Terceira. I always wondered what the Americans thought of Terceira, Portugal. P.S. I am an American and very proud to be one. But, also proud of my heritage.
@nbkihy2 I absolutely loved Terceria and the Portugese people.Myself and my family lived off base in Praia da Vitoria. We had many wonderful Portugese friends who became like family to us.I explored the caves that honeycomb the island and hunted octupus in the bay.We attended most the bullfights including the big one that's held in the ring in Angra. The Portugese people treat the bulls with respect and honor, something most folks don't seem to understand.Someday I'll return for a visit.
I was stationed at Lajes Field in 72.... I love the way Portugese people respect and honor the bull by never killing it in these "Bullfights." I think the bull has as much fun as the people. Never saw them take away a bull in an ambulance.
@keepthetempo This is the story I was told about The Battle of Salga.Soldiers from the Spanish Armada waded ashore on Terceria at low tide and gathered on the beach.A widow and her sons raised fighting bulls on the island. She had her sons herd their bulls onto the beach. The tide had come in and the soldiers that weren't killed by the bulls tried to get back to their ships but drowned because of the weight of their armour.About 8,000 soldiers were buried and salt poured on the bodies.
@keepthetempo MY STUPIED FRIEND YOU SAY NO ONE GET HURT IN THIS EVENT??ARE Y SERIOUS???WHAT ABOUT 8.50???BULL FUCKS THOSES PEOPLE.AND THEY GET TO THE HOSPITAL....SO SHUT THE FUCK UP!!
Bad ending! There are rarely serious injuries... usually just young men with sore egos. hahaha. It's too bad the U.S. Military members aren't allowed to participate. However, if you know where to watch from you can easily find yourself forced to run with the a bit. :-)
I was born in Terceira..and I lived there until I was nine.. I loved the excitement of the bullfights. Although today I am a lover of all animals..and I wish they could find a way to do this sport so that no humans or the bulls get hurt..Peace..xo
I AM GLAD BULLFIGHTS START TO HAVE AN END....CAUSE IS THE MOST RIDICULOUS THING...

@nerblebun HAHAHA well said!...People need too chill..the only place in the world where there is bull fights
and no harm comes to the Bull..The tradition goes way back to when the Spaniards tried to invade the Island
and 100's of bulls were let go on the beaches and kicked there asses back onto the ships!..creative weapons!
The only ones getting hurt here are the ones with bigger balls then the bull!

I remember running the bulls in the late 80's. I see their ambulances still do not have any real supplies or equipment in them.

I used to live in Porto Martins! I also recognized some of the "bullfighters". Good memories... now I want a Sagres!
