I was doing a reseach paper on people who triumph over crushing difficulties when I came across Wilma's story.... I am so honored to have come across her beautiful story....Thank You for posting....
todays women on modern tracks(unlike the cinder=dirt tracks) she ran on and with the "extra" help of steroids and these girls today run 10.7-.8 and Wilma 11.00 50 yrs ago- AND ON DIRT !!!!!!!!!!!
I have read several books in years past about her life. What a tremendous inspiration her story is. She is a true testament to the power of determination. When our desire is strong enough, with the help of God, we can overcome any adversity. Her story touches my soul. I, now have a program, "Inspiration With Sister Joy," on UStream, and her story is one that I shall definitely tell!!!
Wilma Rudolph is like the black, female Forrest Gump. She was a beautiful, elegant, and classy lady. She will forever be the best female track athlete the world has ever seen! God bless you Wilma Rudolph.
everytime i have to do a project or essay i always pick her because i love telling people about her. shes a great person and a very big contribute to history :)
i love this video, n tha insprational music it tells yuh tha yuh can be wat eva yuh wanna be all yuh have to do is put your mind to it, n tell yourself yuh can do it!!!!
wilma is my Idol i Love track and i wnt 2 be just like her very fast an in black history i wus her an every history project i every did wus bout her...WILMA EVEN NO YOU ARE PASS RUN THE HEVEANS GIRL R.I.P
The first book I ever read was a juvenile biography about Wilma Rudolph. I must have been ten years old. Long time ago. I saw the television movie about her life when I was a kid as well. Her story always stuck with me. Miraculous! How does someone go from Polio to a three time Olympics gold medalist for sprinting? HOW?!!
Not gods - determination. We are creatures of free will and are not controlled or manipulated by supernatural forces or superstitions. What we achieve we earn by hard work and self discipline. Nothing else makes these things happen. Wondering why it's not happening to you? Get off your knees and up on your feet and RUN.
"When I was going through my transition of being famous, I tried to ask God why was I here? What was my purpose? Surely, it wasn't just to win three gold medals. There has to be more to this life than that." - Wilma Rudolph
Looks like she'd disagree with you too. God gets the glory! Praise God!
I had the priviledge of getting to watch Wilma Rudolph run in some USA-USSR (Soviet Union) dual track meets on television in the early 60's and she was awesome....beautiful, fast, and graceful!! This was a great tribute to one great lady!! Thanks for posting!!!
also she was called the black pearl so haha no one ssaid that in there videos omg i learned...wow books d teach you lol. know wat? ill do something i had done before PEE!! bye lol... jk umm ya i wish i could have seen her in realife and ps how she get brain cancer...? THAT SUCKS!!!!! well i love WILMA!! ( i love u more then boys) lol a little.. well u got to like boys only if ur gay :( but still WILMA IS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4 years later i was born 1998 that suck but now i feel shes a great women and i might want to run like wilma and try to beat the world record one day. also i have a report on her i thought she was awsome wow... and i thought running was retarted now its NOT!!
that video was amazing. she is an amazing women... my coach read her story to us the first meet I ever ran and I thought she was amazing. what a wonderful women
Lovely tribute. I have always adored Ms. Rudolph - she was so strong, beautiful and courageous. She is definitely an example to us all. How sad that we lost her at such a young age.
To me she will always be known as "La Gazzella Nera", the black gazelle. I was 6 years old, undergoing treatment for Polio in a hospital in Europe when I first heard about her. She has been an inspiration to me for the past 46 years. Even at my old age I am still running half and full marathons As long as I am able to use my legs I will run. Thank you Wilma. Today, people need roids or doping to keep up with you.
Yes I agree with everyone else this was a perfect video for others and i really liked the way you added the pictures and the text nice job I can say this is the first project i really enjoyed doing.
Nice but sad very touching
