The flower and plant is called "Vitória Régia" in Brazil and it's part of many indigenous myths. One of them says that a man can stand on the leaf. But it's not truth. In fact, this leaf cannot bear a man or kid standing on. Only small or medium sized (not heavy or fat) birds. Under the leaf there's much hard thorn and can hurt you seriously and you can be very sick due to viruses and bacteria. Among these plants there are also many poisonous snakes and alligators preying.

Though most give nectar in exchange for the pollinating service (this video didn't mention if it did). I don't understand why you're angry though, the beetle wasn't hurt. Looking at this, I can not help but say OMG, literally Oh my God. Because all this extraordinary complexity, beauty and wisdom can only only be done by an all-knowing, all-wise and all-power source, what we call God. If one does not see this, s/he will say that the flower is all-knowing, all wise.
