Thats a monstrous red dot for that little gun. I have the same model and have a bushnell trs25 and its a micro dot. That one looks to heavy and cumbersome.
Ive had one for years. Shoot it all the time. I dont even break it down to clean it. I just hit the inside with brake cleaner to knock off the fouling. You dont really need to clean the bore on a .22 as the bullets are lubed and dont go fast enough for metal fouling to be a signifigant problem.
from the look at the consistancy of your group, low and slightly left, you may be anticipating the shot and squeezing your fist slightly when you pull the trigger to the rear. the anticipation appears to be the bigger issue though.
@myleskubicek if you are serious about target shooting it pays for itself within a year, considering any handgun ammo larger than .38 is about 10X more than .22....i have a .357 mag handgun, it cost about 30 dollars for a box of 50 rounds, whereas for a brick of 500 .22 rounds its about 20 dollars. i want one bad :)
.22 at the range is a blast a rifle or handgun.I would choose a 12 gauge with 00Buck in a home invasion. I have many handguns and I'm deadly with them all. (practice practice!!) The perp. gets my point with A 12 gauge pump just the sound! (My opinion) I could use either gun but I would grab the 12 and so should YOU! Point and pull baby! .22 or a 9mm your taking a risk. Unless your deadly accurate calm and use the right ammo. FMJ's keep going and going! You don't want stray bullets!
I have the same gun. Just using the fiber optic sites i can shoot eggs with it at 30 yards. Its exremely accurate. It jams all the time though with whatever ammo i use (even after 1000+ rounds and several cleanings). It probly jams once for every 25 rounds i shoot out of it. I still love it tho.
yea what's up with the jamming issue? I have a blued Mark III 22/45 and it constantly jams I've tried everything but CCI, I heard those are pretty good any advise to stop the jamming?
9mm or .45 will have more stopping power for sure, however the .22 is very lethal. Just try shooting at a tree and look at the damage. A .22 will definantly kill or incapacitate your enemy, depending on shot placement, and as long as they are not wearing body armor.
if you want to stop a crackhead from entering your house and raping your children, get either a 9mm or .45. but if you are just going to the range and wanting to have fun, get a .22. most fun you'll ever have, and cheap to shoot.
a 9mm isnt that powerful so i dont understand your reasoning wouldnt a 40 be better than what or a .357. Also a good shot can easily stop someone with a 22 most homocides are commited with a 22 round
Um your wrong on lots. Anyway just bought one of these and love it, bit of a pain to clean the first time but like a 1911 once you do it once or twice it gets easy.

from watching that video it seems to be important to keep your hands free from where the bolt recoils to. may get your hand busted.

How much o these cost?
Roflzmahwoflz 1 year ago
@Roflzmahwoflz The basic mk iii costs about 329. For this version, you pay more. and obviously the electronic sight cost additional.
toolinmaine 1 year ago
@Roflzmahwoflz I just purchased the same gun but with the shorter barrel, I paid $479. Ruger's website lists the MSRP over $600

it makes no sense to me why someone would spend that much on a .22

You took the words out of my mouth. It is silly. If someone needs to do this they either need a rifle or they need to shoot more.

Thorough cleaning and use CCI. Although mine runs Federal bulk no problem.. CCI is just cleaner more consistent ammo.
