I think inside gaming should just review random games, maybe not so much hyped games but less known games. With out a score, I am not saying put the review in inside gaming, but mabey do another link like with this interview, Inside gaming like its annotations a lot

hype has a major factor in games even in someones 1st play through, however games like MGS4 where good (esspecially on the 1st play through) but had major flaws and got realy high scores because of the fact that people where dazzled by its graphics and large amounts of fan service. However i would say that about 70% of the time in the game is spent watching cutscenes.

I also agree with "hype" having to do with how much you like a game. This is an idea I have been debating for quite a while. If you go into a movie expecting something AWESOME you will like the movie, and enjoy it, a lot more! You will notice all the positives, and you might(depending on your perception) notice the negatives. but with hype, you will think the negatives are not as bad as they actually are. I have an idea of a scoring system . Instead of %'s, +'s and -'s are used. The pros of the game add points, and the minuses decrease points. Each game starts at Neutral and for every major pro the game gets +2, for every minor pro +1, major con -2, minor con -1. So if a game has responsive and good controls (which is +2 because good control is essential), a decent story but nothing incredible (+1), but the graphics arent great (-1), then it gets a Positive 1. Just an idea.

It just a number, i mean if a review rated CoD:MW2 a 2 out of 5 would that stop you from buying it? dont use reviews of scores to keep you from buying a game you want just read what they say to spot something in a game that you might not like i.e Unreal Tournament 3 is a great FPS with vehicles but its very fast paced, imo i dont like very fast paced games so i'd keep away from it when i brought it from Steam for $10 i noticed i didn't like it that reviewer could have saved me $10 :D

reviews be damned, if you're iffy on a game say a game that you think would be cool to play but you're not really sure as whether or not you would buy it or not, that is one you should look up many reviews, and I mean alot a variety of reviews, and copare find the pros and cons, but don't go bashing someone's score because that was their opinion and their experience with the game, but if you're sure of a game and want to get it, then just get it reviews be damned, and this isn't just for games
