I can't understand why Ascend is getting so much hate from those who call themselves "real" Tribes-fans. I've played all Tribes-games, and you know what? I enjoy Ascend VERY much. Sure, it's not as good as T2, but you have to remember that It's still beta, not a complete game. So far, the devs have been doing a lot better than I first expected.

@pdo400 I played it at PAX this weekend. For a F2P reinvention with predictable "modernizations" it remains remarkably true to its original form. Skiing is turned into an intentional feature, and feels great. Maps are massive. Speed is breakneck. Not to mention it's the most polished alpha I've ever seen.

@101johngalt It's not on console anymore...but the changes they're making will kill it for Tribes players...regenerating health, no way to customize loadouts in-game, self-repairing bases, only two weapons at a time, no dedicated servers and a whole buncha more BS.

Goon Haven pretty much ALWAYS has people (no bots) on it (it can get up to 64 people on some nights) so check that server out.

If you're new to the game be patient with it, it's very difficult to learn but rewarding
