if you don't comply, you can be jailed for up to 2 years and/or fined up to 3,800.00 per family or 750.00 per individual, plus accrued penalties for how ever long you don't carry that insurance.

fine i was wrong about the 90% (even though that was in the 40's and 60s) but in 1915 the tax rate was at 7%. 7 fucking percent. 1916 15% and in 1917 60%. the 1920's started with a 70% and as the rich got richer the number slowely dwindled.

We started the recession in 2007...but the housing bubble is what started the house of cards falling. It's pretty curious that Obama voted to block bills to stop the regulation reform act and took money from them. SO yes..a LOT of this IS his fault.

The Republicans had six years to focus on costs, and they spent too much.
Then Democrats took back Congress and added more debt than those six years combined.
Aside from all of which, the "you had ten years" mantra completely avoids the point. Controlling costs is either a good solution or it's not. If it's a good solution you should be doing it regardless. If it's not, then they were right not to do it for "ten years". But if you genuinely care about solving the problem, then DO IT RIGHT.

Then the Senate made several fundamental changes, which look more like the worst ideas from both parties rather than the best. Now he is pushing to pass this bill at all costs rather than fix the problems with it.
Republicans said, let's sit down, take account of all the things both sides agree on, do that bill, expand coverage, reduce costs. Obama has chosen to do this, "or else".

At the heart of the health care bill is a mandate that ALL Americans buy a policy that is "approved" by the federal government.
if you don't comply, you can be jailed for up to 2 years and/or fined up to 3,800.00 per family or 750.00 per individual, plus accrued penalties for how ever long you don't carry that insurance.
I have a SERIOUS problem with that.

fine i was wrong about the 90% (even though that was in the 40's and 60s) but in 1915 the tax rate was at 7%. 7 fucking percent. 1916 15% and in 1917 60%. the 1920's started with a 70% and as the rich got richer the number slowely dwindled.
you're logic is so simplistic i just have to laugh. all i have to do is look at the tax rates between 1940s and the 1960s (ranges from 85-91%) and see unemployement sit around 5%. your idea that reducing taxes creates jobs is just plain wrong.

Actually, it's the reverse. As the tax rate went down, prosperity went up. You need to take a second look at Reganomics. The only thing Regan did wrong economically was he failed to cut spending enough. Which is what forced H.W. Bush to go back on his "read my lips" promise. All the spending forced him to raise taxes. The mortgage crisis is the contributing factor to the current rate. So you can't say the tax cuts did nothing.There was a depression in '21. It ended quick. Why?
