I sorely miss this game. It stood apart from other RPGs because it was incredibly challenging and the difficulty scaled the more you leveled so you couldn't really grind to breeze through like you normally can. I rather play this than FF13, even though this was just a platform for said game.

LOL i beat this guy at br 45 ... its just u have to use 3 unions and the trick to all boss fight is just to kill the other stupid guys helping him.. and the formation is one of the key to success in this game.. currently at br 70..

p.s game is better in pc! 100x better

Finally i beat this boss and It took for about 6 hours! aaaa. I tryed diffrent combinations, diffrent teams stuff. Well, my final team had 5 units with 1300 - 1900 hp and it let me flank atack uhits of the boss. There was 15-20 attempts with these final team.

This boss made me fucking rage... When only Lob omen and Jager remained, I had only one unit remaining.. I tried to revive one, that fucking Jager raidlocked me before I could revive anyone and he killed me with that pain in the ass Beatdown... I was like "NO FUCKING WAY" then I raged a bit more and decided to watch this vid lol

I find it bullshit that I did every single sidequest on disc 1. Br55 and I need luck to beat this guy. I like this game and all, but it's seriously fucking flawed. I've died to this guy at least 17 times trying different unions, healing ways, formations...It's stupid that I can win if Dave would stop being a dickhead and Gae Bolg in the beginning.

it simple people just get as high as u cant they hit they stop leveling after a while i think its at like rank 65 or something but they always have the same hp so just get high to live br 100 and it should be piss easy ...(not that its piss easy to get to that br)

get the pc version it is like 10 times better and funier coz it doesnt take an hour to attack and such so i recommend on the PC with 512mb graphic card and 2.8 processor

If you're not high-lvl, don't split to 5groups, cause then each group will be 1hitted, rather use 3ubersquads that manages to stay alive, did this boss at lvl 31, and damned, I had many tries ^^

tip: as on all other bosses, get rid of all other random mobs before you attack. gl hf all ^^

the mobs only hit you for around 300-500... in my game they hit me for 1000-2000 depends on what skils they use... wtf :/

the point is this game has many good elements this could become the start of something new but there are many flaws and in my opinion the day squaresoft became squarenix the titles have lost theyer magic though the 2 new ff series seem to restore some of the legend of squaresoft

ok guys i already beat this boss like 2 or 3 weeks ago, i got 61 lvl on this boss, after a few tries i only change from 3 partys of 5 members to 4 partys of 3 members and 1 of 3 members, maybe was luck but the battle becomes a lot easier, i hope that comes handly for anyone :)

yes when yopu have less members in the ties the str measures of all kinds defence and attack of the formations are increased but it still is hard to beat this boss

I'm stuck on this boss as well. I got 25 Battle Rank but still this guy is so hard. i nuked "The gates of Hell" 3rd Try. on the walk throu it says this battle is easy if u summon the Cyclops. but Cyclops on my save is on a picnic apparently or dating online...

I mean god... this is the second save I'm stuck on this boss. first save Rush was a Mage and I got him Dual weild now. but stuck again.

this battle demands you to sit and train on areas randomly for no reason than to fight this boss only and the story is only at the half of the game i guess pimping up 3 pties with around 4k each hp will make it seem possible but who wants to sit and kill random mobs on random areas

u dont get it, if u train your battle rank will rise.. and the mobs get stronger everytime your battlerank levels up, and bosses rise even faster higher.. so this is just an imba fight..

ive heard of this, but im playing the pc version and to say the truth neither the bosses have the hp i heard in conversations about the xbox like that hell gate has 120k hp at mine i calculated it died at around 70k so it seems there are diferences now if you also play the pc version maybe youre right andyways i have not noticed this

the bosses stop ranking up after rank 65 then it gives u a chance to kill them its the games way of saying u have to play me for along time to win basically the creators are evil time consuming bastards that make addictive awesome games

done all quests unlocked everything to that part got all the story party members you get including the side quest ones also unlocked the secret guild beated the hell gate first try easy and now im stuck on this its gay ..

I'm stuck on this battle. Should I use my other save which is in the Aqueduct and go level up then have to face Gates of Hell or Hell Gates again? Because I keep getting killed by this guy I only have 3 unions.

if you go level, do it right, if you end up getting a very high BR, he will get harder

higher BR = Harder Enemies and this applies twice on bosses(fallen on 87 BR wasnt fun trust me)

don't link enemies, if you link enemies your battle rank will rise faster, but you won't gain alot of status, the best way is killing 1 enemy at a time(if the enemies are stronger than you even better)

i always linked them =\ now i got 54 BR and at least one union is dying per turn in this battle...i can't even get to kill all the random troops :P

I know the feeling. I just kept facing him until I got into a battle where luck was more on my side.

One odd thing about this boss is if you Physically Attack the Remnant Lob Omen he seems to stop doing his wide scale attacks and responds only with 'Attack'.

Now I'm not sure if that was luck on my part but it managed to protect my other Unions from his Area Of Effect attacks.
