Sorry, I'm misinformed, it was a federal cour ruling. It was Torcaso v. Watkins, that held Atheism to be treated as a religion because "it's philosophy is analogous to religion". The other case that held Atheism to be a religion was Kaufman v. McCaughtry.

i agree with you that thinking about life somewhere else can take the joy of realizing this life is important. I do however belive in God but not based on what someone has told me. Negative thinking is a prerogative and usually a monopoly of "Christians". They can't stand it when an unbeliever is actually happy. They don't like anyone to be happy. In their mind life is work and pain, then the reward for enduring and "believing" is everlasting life i heaven.

I have no problem with death. Mine is the best life anyone ever had. I wouldn't trade one more day in my body for eternity of living as someone else.

I believe in agnosticism of a more atheistic way, meaning i can't know but i'm more doubtfull, especially since i've been to a religious school, and watch over these ideals closely. I believe in questioning and philosophy more than some sort of feeling of knowing. If something has happened to you to make you believe all i can say is people look for easy answers.

Sorry, I'm misinformed, it was a federal cour ruling. It was Torcaso v. Watkins, that held Atheism to be treated as a religion because "it's philosophy is analogous to religion". The other case that held Atheism to be a religion was Kaufman v. McCaughtry.
Atheists do have a metaphysical stance, EVERYONE has a metaphysical stance, regardless if you believe in God or not. If you do Science, you need to have a metaphysical stance.

All metaphysical stances are dogmatic, like science itself is dogmatic to an extent. According to epistemolgoical philsoophy, and mathematical logic, you cannot prove the validity of fundamental axioms (see Godel's incompleteness theorem).
There is no way to prove that we have knowledge, because one can question the methods in knowledge attainment and you cannot prove it without resorting to circular reasoning.

I give this lady much credit. As I Christian myself, this lady handles herself well and professional, not ugly and mean. However she must understand that in the Military, there is often a strong relationship between the military and church. In the Navy we were always encouraged to attend. It kept the morale high. Did you know there are no first hand accounts of Jesus? All of the stories were hearsay. None of the many hiostorians who lived and worked during Jesus day have ever reported on him.

i agree with you that thinking about life somewhere else can take the joy of realizing this life is important. I do however belive in God but not based on what someone has told me. I experienced a very big ordeal in my life and God revelaed himslef to me in many forms. So I believe in Him. I don't find the bible contradictory. I find it very interesting. I have no problem with death. Mine is the best life anyone ever had. I wouldn't trade one more day in my body for eternity of living as someone else.
I won't be aware of my death, just like I was unaware of my existence before I was conceived.

I believe in agnosticism of a more atheistic way, meaning i can't know but i'm more doubtfull, especially since i've been to a religious school, and watch over these ideals closely. I believe in questioning and philosophy more than some sort of feeling of knowing. If something has happened to you to make you believe all i can say is people look for easy answers.
