  • The amount of times I've watched these Cissie and Ada videos... even when I'm elsewhere online, Just listening to these is enough! :D

  • Les Dawson's brilliant

  • They both had(have in Roy's case) such amazing comedic talent,acting & timing.Especially as Cissie & Ada.

I always think it sad that someone didn't comission Cissie & Ada as a short,(say 12 episodes) series.

At least we have the small scenes to laugh at.

    Thanks to Les and Roy.

    PS:~

Have you ever seen Les playing an old South American(non stop eating) woman,in the play "Nona"?

If not try and find it on youtbe,Les is just amazing (and convincing) in it.

  • I do love these. Les Dawson was so funny. I especially liked it when he used to play the piano out of tune. Good memeories

  • Les died way to soon...but he like Benny Hill didn't take care of himself. 2 comedic genius talents gone. The world is a much sadder place with out them.

  • Brilliant, both of them, you don't get comedy like this anymore, more's the pity.

  • excellent :-D

  • Hi, I’m Terry Ravenscroft, the scriptwriter of all the Cissie and Ada sketches here on YouTube. Glad to know they are still being enjoyed. I have just published an e-book on Amazon Kindle ‘Les Dawson’s Cissie and Ada’, which contains many of the original scripts. Apart from a Kindle gizmo the e -book is downloadable on I-Pod, Mac, and you can also download it direct onto your PC.

  • @terryrazz I would so love to have those scripts. What was it like working with Les?

  • @nickdecarlo76 Hi Nick

The scripts - and a few anecdotes about working with Les - are in Les Dawson's Cissie and Ada, available from Amazon Kindle price 99p. And Les was great to work with. The man was the same man you saw on the TV screen.

  • @terryrazz Hi and thank you for responding. I'm going to check that out on Amazon, it's also very rare, especially now to work with someone who is a great person on and off screen. Now almost every famous person, thinks they're better then everyone else. I wish I could have met him and I'd also like to make a movie about him too.

  • @terryrazz Hello there Terry,

Just a quick message to say Thank You for all the enjoyment that (via Les)you gave us.

When I watched Cissie and Ada(originally) I was always hoping that someone in TV would comission C&A as a series, but nobody seems to have had the gumption to do it.

I also remember Les as the old lady Nona, what an amazing straight actor was hidden underneath the comic exterior.

I hope life is treating you well.

    Regards,

    Gordon.

  • Ada's reaction at 4:48 gets me every time!!

  • His mouth shape upon perfect comedic silence timing, is superb!

  • "I had an egg....." so simple yet so hilarious!

  • LOVE IT...x

  • I loved Les Dawson say him live on holiday, think it was Bournemouth, my dad took me to meet him at the bar, he was having a jack daniels and cigar! gave me an autograph. I will never forget that. He was such a great comedian. Good northern humour. These are classics, love the northern "battleaxe"!! lol.

  • "They taste of peppermint!!"

    Thank you.

    5*****.

    Jennie.

  • ABSOLUTLEY HILARIOUS i was pissing myself-this is pure comedy i can watch cissie and ada over and ago agian xx

  • laughed till i cried,thanks.

  • I shook hands with Les outside the Palace Theatre in 1987 when he was appearing in Run for Your Wife. It was a very exciting time for me and Les was brill in the play. I was dead chuffed for weeks afterwards!!!!

  • she wishes she got filled up, pmsl clasic comedy

  • Its the same with mine. Probably because its an old recording; who knows!

  • Just love how Les Dawson just has to walk in as Ada to get a laugh. It reminds me so much of Benny Hill as Fredd Skuttle.

  • Five stars gorlestonguy! Always love to see Les. Any more of Cissie and Ada?

  • FANTASTIC!! Les was brilliant

  • Thank you for another excellent clip. I never tire of watching these two.

  • excellent humour, far better than the rubbish and swearing today..

Les Dawson a true comic hero!!!!!!!!

  • Beautiful, brilliant mannerisms/observations. My childhood hero. I so prefer this type of comedy to the vile/vulgar type that is so common today.
