Have you given up on the project or the how to book? This looked really awesome and im sorry to hear about data lose that really sucks.... How hard is it to make something like this and where should i start learning?
I have some very basic programing skills and i have some 3d modeling skills and i love board games.
Thanks for reading forgive spelling please and please reply soon.
@dashermkii I'm not doing anything with this concept any time soon now. I was using a program called Blitz3D which is a form of Basic that also has commands for using 3d models. Things that would be complicated in other languages have easy to use commands in the Blitz3D language. I sort of taught myself over decades how to program and model stuff, so I'm not really sure where to get started. If you want to know more about Blitz3D, you could try the blitzbasic website
ok, but it is sooo boring to watch. you need to edit it. I get that it's 3D, you don't need to spin the camera around 5 times every time you add something.
Hi! Thanks for watching. Firstly, only 4 full rotations take place over the whole video, not every single time something is added. Secondly, I was just seeing what the things looked like from different angles, and seeing that the shadow/lighting/shading was working. The rest of the time, I'm just moving the camera a bit at a time, to get a better view of what I was doing. Sorry to bore you.
Hi! It's on "pause" at the moment. It's not officially cancelled, perhaps late in the year, or something like that, I might get it done. I've been caught up in some other stuff at the moment and am not currently working on the project, sorry. I'm tempted to write a 'how to' book so people can make things like this themselves if they have the time, software and talent, since I seem to keep getting busy with other things.
Just thought I'd add - sorry about the frame rates in this. Recorded in Fraps, fps dropped a lot. Usually 60 to 70 fps on this computer when not recording at the same time.

Cool, can't wait till you're done.
Seems like a handy tool.

looks an interesting idea, making it literally like a paper based board game. Good luck, mate.
