Larmer had an awesome slapper. His number should be retired, he was one of the best ever in Chicago and a class act.

I wore a birdcage when I was young and took a cranker off the left side, similar to Vernon's shot here. Needless to say my teeth vibrated for a few minutes afterward.

I'll never forget in '94 when Rangers won the cup, Messier was celebrating jumping in the air, but Lamer was still holding a Canuck against the boards, just in case.

Blackhawks fans were lucky. He was only a Ranger for two seasons but he was terrific. He did just about everything well - score, skate, check, defend.

@oatmeal813 I saw Larmer play junior in Niagara Falls... he should have been a centre, but somebody else managed to get the nod... no wonder they didn't get that far those years.
