so sade they cant keep all the old fleet it just a terble crime they may keep some but it just whant be the same anymore and proble in the fucher they will look bk and think what a mistake as the new one will be scraped just leke so called buses that were mad e to replace trams
@screammac I agree with you on the fact that the character of the old tramway will fade, but it's high time that Blackpool moved on; the tramway has been pleading for a revamp for a long time, and now it's coming. Thanks for commenting.
@robmasterman Thanks Bob. Even the weather failed to stop me recording the old order on Blackpool's tramway system, before it is all swept away by the new breed of trams from 2012 onwards.
@REGWARNE12 As I said to one YouTuber earlier on, it's a typical English Summer! What else do you expect? LOL And fingers crossed that 710 will go on to a happier retirement instead of dying at the hands of the scrapman... Cheers for commenting!
@dalrigh Cheers dalrigh, glad you enjoyed it! Despite the weather, it was a reet good bash (followed by the mandatory fish & chips from the Fleetwood Granada Bar soon afterwards)!
Fingers crossed that 710 will go on to a happier retirement...
@EmperorMarcusNovius That was one of a few Routemasters that turned up in Fleetwood that day; sadly that was a victim of the wet weather too. Anyroad, glad this stirred up memories for you; they'll all you'll have from 2012 onwards, when the new trams take over from the 'Balloon's, 'Railcoaches' and 'Boats that made the tramway so famous. Cheers for commenting!
Top man, choosing a ride on 715! Excellent! That open top Metrobus, did you happen to see it again or get the reg, was it former Arriva Wales KYV689X?
@video47 Not sure what the open-top bus was, and that was the only time I saw that vehicle. It may have been at Fleetwood somewhere (for the revived Tram Sunday event), but I must have missed it.
Anyway, 715 provided a great opportunity for me to bash an old 'Balloon' car, just before the new trams take over from 2012 onwards.
@theamateurbasher Thanks, I will look on flikr now to see the Metrobus, thanks for your video pointing me in the right direction. Blackpool will loose its character once the 'old' balloons go, so many happy childhood memories, the noises and the smells still exist on them today. BIG mistake introducing new trams, blumin EU regulations! I like new trams but NOT in Blackpool!
@video47 Didn't get a shot of the metrobus unfortunately; I was more concerned with getting the old school tram action while it is/was still possible. While a handful of double deckers will be retained for Summer use, I am in agreement with you that the character of the old tramway will vanish without trace. Sad, but it has to happen. The tramway's been begging for a revamp for far too long...

Hi David. Just to correct you on a few errors in your video description -
762 is a modified 'Jubilee' car (refurbished in the 00s)
and
723 is a modified 'Balloon' car (from the 90s with unmodified doors).
Rob :)

Enjoyed the video and it was great that you ended it with Balloon 710.
Hope 710 is not being stored out in the open otherwise it will not last long in weather like this.
