  • 0:11 - 'Boni' the lead singer? WTF!!!

  • me encantan!!new order!!!saludos desde barcelona!!!!!!!!!!!mersi tia

  • que buena cancion, todavia suena con onda

  • me too i love new order

  • True Faith was the song that got me into New Order - and it was also the song that led me to other indie bands and alternative music. Absolutely fantastic song, and an absolutely fantastic band - at least in their early days (pre Gillians departure).

  • my morning sun is a drug that brings me near; to the childhood I lost replaced by fear. I used to think that the day would never come that my life would depend on the morning sun...

Sigh... Goosebumps for anyone who can relate to those words.

    5*

  • que malo es en vivo!!

  • IMO, the "True Faith" single was one of the greatest singles of all time. And do you know what the B-Side of "True Faith" was? "1963". Almost a double A-Side!

  • possibly the best New Order single ever.

I wish I could have enjoyed music from this era, music seems to suck these days

  • this song sums it all. what does it sum up exactly? dunno. but it sums it up

  • pretty sure of that myself,

    IcyRealmster

  • Sums up getting off drugs. Seriously.

  • Shoot the sound guy.

  • Who's 'Boney'??!

  • Bernie.

  • this probably doesn't have anything to do with ian curtis, but with someone who idolizes his drug experiences to the point of mythologizing them and almost treating them as a girlfriend. he had some sort of childhood potential- hence "the price of destiny comes to nothing"...

  • Respect? I call that worshipping when people shove his name everywhere even when he has nothing to do with the topic.

  • It's funny because almost every fucking New Order song, someone says it's about Ian Curtis. Blue Monday? Some people say it's about the day after Ian Curtis death. As far as I know, True Faith is about smack or drug addiction. Some people are simply obsessed with Ian Curtis.

  • Ian Curtis was a man with talent who died young, that's it that's all. Unlike many of you, I don't worship him.

  • ian curtiss was a poet and a great songwriter he will always be remembered by true souls

  • True, Ian Curtis was unique, but you people don't have to force-fed his name on every freaking New Order songs. IMO, New Order is at times superior than Joy Division. Not all Joy Division songs are great and definitely not always better than New Order.

  • Thank you; I couldn't agree more.

  • Like the jersey!

  • lmao....what a piece of shit!

  • Great track, it's too bad they can't make intelligent rock/electronic music like this nowadays. It's a great clip, but a shame they had to edit the bridge part of the song. Maybe Barney fucked up (cuz he was fucked up) the guitar solo.

  • I like a-ha too tho!

  • Imo, Donots cover is much better...probably cause I'm too young...but the lyrics are great!

  • That's because you like the typical harder sound of countless other covers of New Order songs. Either make it harder and tougher with lots of guitar or use acoustic instruments and slow the songs down. Just take a look at Blue Monday from Orgy for the more hardcore version of a New Order song or Bizarre Love Triange from Frente! for an acoustic version. Very typical.

  • "sumner sucks! curtis forever!"

In a related story...apples suck! ORANGES RULE!

  • New Order were just getting on with life like every other cuhnt. Thats the end of it. Far too much emphasis and mythology is placed on them. Working class guys who liked drink, drugs , dancing and partying in general ... as simple as!!!!!!!!!!

  • Curtis is different and Bernard is different.Humanity is FULL of LOWLY STUPID people...such Pathetic bunch of INFERIOR individuals...

  • Can't we all just say that New Order, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, and Tears For Fears all rock incredibly hard?

    Besides, a-ha > j00

  • don't forget happy mondays, the cure and talking heads

  • sumner sucks! curtis forever!

  • Grow up. Why do Joy Division fans have to be such cry babies all the time? I'm sorry, but Ian Curtis is no more. Barney, he's still a alive and thank goodness for that. There is more to music than just depressive songs.

  • 80's Top Of The Pops performances rulezz!... :)

  • gran cancion. me trae muchos recuerdos aquel tema.

  • New Order! A banda que iniciou o movimento eletronico...

  • Great song!!!!

  • this video makes me horny!!!

  • Shame this was the song that sold them out....apart from that one of the best bands of the 80's!

  • I love New Order! Depeche Mode will always be my number one, but NO is my 2nd favorite band - I never compare the two, they peacefully coexist in my heart :).

  • Pure Class - Nuuuu Orrrr Dahhhh

  • Aguante Erasure!!

  • New Order is more respected. They shun there fame. And have gone through more trials than depeche mode ever did. And are still doing whatever the F they want and they are doing it there way. The record company doesnt say sh!t. And you still see bands NEW and old bands say they get there sound from them. Every hear of a guy named Bono of U2? Also a little trivia, they STILL have the #1 most sold 6" for Blue Monday. But they never made any money for it.

  • New Order fuckin ruled. And this was one of their best songs.

  • How can a great band such as Joy Division spur a crummy New Order if it should be the same band. Never liked New Order No matter what I heard from them, but I tried, felt them very weak and whinny

  • personally, i prefer new order to joy division, but everyone has an opinion...

  • To each its own but no matter if you like their sound or not, it is undeniable that New Order is an innovative band and that makes them amazing. I consider them superior to Joy Division which I also like.

  • Neon lights ohhh, cool song.

  • classic song ... what a jumper.

  • very good!

  • TOTP 6th August 1987...

  • Gawd those were the days. I like their new album also. Unfortnately the hosts pull-over was whack even back then!

  • new order > life

  • wow, TOTP live!

  • I love this song.

    I love New Order.

  • I model myself on Barney. Hair. Voice. Everything. And from the look of things neither of us can play the guitar.

  • Barney sure can play the guitar. Look for Joy Division videos.

  • New Order technically Are Joy Division but after the movement album they became a completely different band and discovered their own sound.

    I prefer New Order.

  • Depeche Mode sucks? Both bands are great!

  • Sounds a bit flat but it's still a great performance. And Hooky is legendary on this.

  • Gary Davies is a utter twat !

  • check out his fucking jumper

  • Vintage performance!!!

  • Tiger Tikka, although your probably smart and like good music or whatever, Im afraid that the comment you just made is ridiculously stupid. Define real music? Ill give you £50 if you can find a good band that hasnt ever been influenced by joy division, or new order. Saying they suck is like saying that everything sucks, so just take it back.

  • Wow, New Order really sucks. Listen to some real music.

  • This IS real music, Loser.

  • Dude, I was joking! I love New Order... though my favourite song of theirs has got to be.. well I forget the name. I only remember some lyrics from it: "Faults from above hit the people down below". Anyways, ciao.

  • Your joke is lame, not funny.

  • your response made me laugh/giggle...just funny :-p

  • Depeche Mode is terrible, New Order is so much better than them. What a great song and video

  • New Order = Joy Division they are the same band

minus Ian Curtis. Read the history books.

  • it´s 1988! the year they came to brasil. they´re coming again in november. i´m not missing this time!

  • I would pick depeche mode over new order. But i like them both. I don´t know why compare yeah it´s silly.

  • I think they are 2 bands apart...but why compare?...you should talk about new order here...why depeche it?

  • new order kills depeche mode

  • I'd sooner take Tears For Fears over New Order and Depeche Mode.

  • I would say that New Order were influenced (or ripped off!), Tears For Fears. The chorus of True Faith are the same chords as Mad World, and Everything's Gone Green sounds very similar to Pale Shelter.

  • behave yourslef new order where about before tears for fears if your looking for influences on new order kraftwerk is your anwser

  • Yeah, I know. If you're looking for blatant plagiarism / laziness (and I don't care that they asked for permission) Coldplay's "Talk" is a rip off of Kraftwerk's "Computer Love". New Order influenced by Kraftwerk, Coldplay can't think of their own ideas so nick someone else's melody instead. New Order sampled "Uranium" from Kraftwerk's "Radioactivity" for Blue Monday.

  • all part of why blue monday was so influential.

  • I don't know but I never was able to get into Tears for Fears. Their songs suck to my ears, sorry.

  • Who is Boney ? !!!!! Gary Davis incompetance !!

  • "Bernie" for Bernard Sumner.

  • I am a huge New Order / Joy Division / Electronic / Monaco / Revenge / The Other Two fan, and Bernard's nickname (that he doesn't particularly like) is BARNEY, not BERNIE. But Gary clearly says BONIE

  • i love new order and depeche mode

  • i'd pick new order over depeche mode.

  • this is fantastic! thanks for posting. by the way,

    depeche mode, well, ridiculous....

  • Depeche Mode its better, have more songs, but New Order its great also.

  • depeche mode are basically a copy of new order/joy division so they owe it all to them

  • no way are depeche mode better

  • /agree

  • Fabulous!

  • Love New order but depeche mode is still better peace!!

  • Thank for put this video online!

New Order is one of my favorite band,I love them so much.
