Which is a better beginner snake, Boa Constictor SandBoa, or a Ball Python, i am wanting one that has the best tempermant and least amount of medical and feeding issues.
@AddictingStudiosEdit yes they are usually kept with sand as a substrate, but not fed on sand. to keep them from injesting the sand, wich can be harmful to the snake.
i have the same snake but its orange and black. We feed it live mice, its better for them, exercise and its fresh. we call her sandy but im thinking of naming her diddle berry.
@MrRexrules what is it about prekilled food that pleases you so much, the mouse is still going to die, whether you kill it, or the snake kills it. plus, if the snake doesnt take to it, you're not going to have a dead mouse to get rid of if you feed live. every day a lot of snakes eat a lot of live mice/rabbits/goats/whatever they eat in thewild and you don't give a shit about those.how hypocritical is that.but i'm sure you felt a lot better about yourself after writing that comment, so congrats
@MrRexrules yeah, and if you kill it it's going to feel that baseball bat smash it's pretty little head or whatever you use to kill it dude. but even if it was more "human" for you to kill it, why would it need to be more human, the veal you eat is sometimes killed at a few weeks old, the chicken you eat grew up in a tiny box, etc. hypocrite. it's not very "human" when it happens in the wild, but noone cares then.
@dotchoo i agree, also do these jackasses not realize that snakes kill fast!!
seriously its a part of life
just cuz they eat nothing but organic vegetables they think they're better than everyone, they need to do their research and realize how full of shit they are
Snakes and other animals can be trained to eat dead prey, the owner jsut has to put the time in which if you can't and don't the time, you shouldn't own a pet most owners enjoy watching an animal suffer..again it is the owner not the pet, some scum jsut enjoy. and most snake owners are in it for the breeding and the money not the snake.
im going out on the hunt for one of these tomorrow ( a baby female is what im looking for) and i was wondering will a 12" by 20" be enough of an aqarium and if not how long will that size be good for?
so on his other video pple complain to feed his snakes rats instead then on this video pple say its tight to feed it rats so wots ure choice he ent gona eat air
Thats actually the nicest way, the rats die of natural causes then they freeze them and feed them to the snakes instead of feeding the mice while there alive so stfu
My male kenyan isn't eating. I got him 2 weeks ago and tried to feed him today.. Both of my kenyans are shy snakes. But the female ate after 30 minutes with the pinkie inside its enclosure. I am going to leave the pinkie overnight in the Male Kenyan Sand Boa's tub. They are housed seperately. Any advice if it doesn't eat by tommarow morning?
Try to dangle the pinkie in front of his face it he won't eat. Other than that, just keeping offering regularly. It is not untypical for any snake to just go off food occasionally.
beautiful snakes man! Do you get your snakes shipped because i was thinking of getting another snake but i didn't know whether shipping is reliable or not.
Many snakes wont eat while shedding. But for those that do, it does no damage. Show me sources to back yourself up because I have never been able to find anything on snakes getting injured eating while shedding.
I think you really can't go wrong with either. Both have great personalities. The sand boa's I think have an easier upkeep. But the ball python's upkeep is not difficult either.
ok but he shead last week and even befor he started to shed he didnt eat its been 4 weeks now after the shead and still wont eat and congrats on your new snake
When I first got Sandy she went nearly 2 months without eating. Caesar has also gone pretty close to that long as well. But currently all of the snakes are eating perfectly.
hey it been 2 more days and my sand boa still will not eat someone told me to cut open the fuzzys head. do you think it will work plz respond to both of my qustions thank you
hey i have had my sand boa for about 1 month its 9 months old and has shead 2 times and it has been refuseing to eat it has been almost 2 and a half weeks so if you have any ideas why please write back thank you
The thing with trying to get them to eat while shedding is that they usually will refuse it. But Sandy never refuses a meal. It does no damage to the snake.
