hey nice vid but there are new guidelines stating to clear the airway as part of the ABC's of first aid. And if you arent certified it is recommended to do hands-only CPR 100:1min. You have the correct ratio and this is helpful, but you should include information like when doing rescue breaths see if the chest rises and make sure to tilt back the head to open the airway, you should also add that each compression for an average adult should be 3-4 inches deep. Thanks - phenomenal
A wrong CPR protocol. He should head tile chin lift, not the neck. He should check breathing for 10 seconds, and if no breathing give two breathes, and then check 10 seconds pulse. And if no pulse can be found then start compression. This is a wrong, very wrong video and should be deleted immediately.
Please look at the comments above as the CPR protocol is correct as for the european community as well as the US.... If it is still the same as it was before 2005 in Hongkong please continue as you have been instructed.... regards
Thank you for your comments but the video is correct as the guidlines are from the UK resuscitation guildlines.... It was for the general public to make CPR easier... I can understand if you have been doing CPR for a number of years that it can sometimes confuse... Regards
In Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, we have to check the ABC of Life w/c is A-irway, B-reathing and C-irculation. He did not check the airway to see to it that there are no objects that block the throat of the victim. He did not also use the Maximum head-tilt chin lift. In performing the compression, he should be looking on the face of the victim. and lastly he should have place the mouth piece before he started compression.
Hi. Nice short clip. A bit concerned that the video looked as though the compressions were too fast. The recommended rate is 100 per min if this was put into the script I think it would be great.
the feeling for the pulse is essential...if there is a pulse you DO NOT do compressions on an adult..only rescue breathing....only when you have a child with BPM under 60 do you do compressions with a pulse
Thanks for your comment.... The resuscition council discovered that in times of stress the first aider detected their own pulse and not that of the patient..(adrenaline).the video is for the absolute beginner..... professional still feel for the pulse....
What they found was most lay people did not find if the patient had a pulse but felt their own pulse (because they were under stress and because of adrenaline.. which is a vasoconstrictor)so therefore did not do CPR when they should have done....
every artery apart from the pulmonary artery pulsates every time your heart beats... the only place that it is normally felt is when it goes over a bone or hard surface... if your blood vessels are contricted you can feel or see a pulse in more places....if you ever see anyone stressed up you can see the one on their temple quite easily...
scfc1515 The guildlines NOW say OPEN airway NOT check airway.....please get you facts right before putting your foot in your mouth....Check airway was pre Nov 2005....If you have been instructed wrong I suggest you approach your instructor....Regards
Considering i had my ATLS training this week i think you will find the 'open airway' means open the mouth and check for obstruction. So really it means the same as 'check airway'.
if there was an obstruction tilting the head and would make this worse if the obstruction fell into the the oropharynx
What you did was an Advanced Trauma Life Support Course....You will find that the video is the European Resuscitation Guidlines which were were put into place for the general public.....If you know what JRCALC guildlines are you would not have questioned it as they say open the airway if there is anything visible remove it... I have instructed on many ATLS courses...dont think for one minute that people who post things on this site are all idiots...

....Just don't EVER come near me when I end up having a cardiac arrest.
I'd rather have this out dated CPR than what you have been taught.

There was a wrong move @ 00:10-00:11, before u move his head back, u must check his/she mouth to see if there is somthing to suffocate.
