  • What kind of printer is that?

  • @cnc95fan

It's a Star LC-10 Color. It can also print in color with a three-color-ribbon.

  • @AkaiUher

I bought an XT recently; does the printer need to be IBM compatible or would one with DOS drivers work?

  • @cnc95fan

If you have one with dos drivers and load them it should work.

  • i'm pretty sure it will run pixel pad

  • This'll prob run crysis 2 on DX11 with high res texture pack XD

  • @SteedsGaming i think its just a printer :s

  • Never old... Ever Vintage!!!!!!!!

  • PRINTER

  • skyrim can run on max on that PC

  • but will it blend?

  • hello,How can i download music on youtube? There is no button that i have to click so that i can download

  • wait ... how'd you upload this video using that computer? sorry i just had to make a retarded comment

  • This is an awesome computer. It could even be better than my Apple IIe from 1984.

  • It can't be an original 5150, cause the 5150 motherboard only supported 256 KB of ram. It must have had a full motherboard upgrade at some point, which explains why it uses an AMD 8088. REally only hte case is authentic.

  • look at your computer

    then this

    then back to yours

    and back to this

    XD

  • IBM 5150 HELP!!!

Hi today i bought a ibm 5150 for $20. However its missing 1 of the floppy drives and the hard drive. It has a vga monitor and a ibm keyboard. I wanted to know what i should do get get it up and running cheaply. I also want to know how much its worth. Please Respond Thanks!!!

  • @GraysonsTechReviews

A HDD is not necessary. You only need at least one floppy drive to boot a OS from disk. For a more comfortable use of the computer you should get a second FDD. But note, that the floppy controller originally built in only supports double density (or less) drives (5,25" DS DD disks, 360 KB). If you want to use 5,25" HD or 3,5" disks, you need an other controller.

If all the other necessary components are built in (RAM, CPU, display card...) the computer should run.

  • @GraysonsTechReviews IBM 5150 for $20 WOW! that's a deal, your machine could be worth anywhere from $150 - $900. judging by the fact that you have a monitor and keyboard (CGA monitors are worth more than the newer VGA) I would value it at $350 if it has broken parts and at $450 if it works.

  • happy birthday!! IBM 5150!!

  • the monitor looks like a toaster?

  • This would originally had black full height Floppy drives, not beige slim-line drives. this was an upgrade, making it not original

  • @IamFat32

I know. And I wrote it already in the discription.

  • wondering...will this run Grand Theft Auto

  • i want one..

  • Don't tell me this thing had a MFM hard drive!

  • Do you think you can run crysis on it? XD

  • A bit quiet...too quiet.

  • can u play call of duty on that thing?

  • it's better than Vista!

  • How can you live with that computer ???

  • can i play crisys 2 with this computer?

  • @jazc5432hoo Haha what do you think ??? It can't even go to the internet XD

  • the first PC was an Apple, he was built 5 years befor IBM-PC

  • LOL THE MONITOR LOOKS LIKE A MICROWAVE !!!!!

  • @TheAirBourne21 and the computer has the correct beep-sounds like a microwave :-) go to 1:50

  • It have one of these but the HD is in a separate case.

  • @Cowboyjlove can you make a video of it?

  • I used to have a couple of bare mainboards- one was a 256K unit with cassette interface and one was a 640K unit. Both worked. I used to boot them to BASIC with an old VGA card and write a program which would write "IBM..." in random places all over the screen.

  • lol i love how that thing still works while me 2 year old core 2 quad is pretty much screwed

  • can I make a toast on this?

  • Does it will run Mario?

  • love that klaacking keyboard! Does the Keyboard work with Windows xp?

  • @MilleniumLP

Maybe when you have a DIN -> Mini-DIN (PS/2) adaptor.

  • Comment removed

  • @AkaiUher OK ;) Grüße aus Deutschland

  • @AkaiUher What is the model number of that keyboard?

  • @techerik14

    The ID No. is 515X -55-18343 P1D

    Model 000

  • @MilleniumLP hey bro a 3rd party bought out the factory that made the original IBM Model M keyboards, that is to say, the PS/2 keyboard: same "clicky" keys, but a 101 key layout. find them at pckeyboards.stores.yahoo.net

  • @MilleniumLP you will miss a lot of keys.

  • Why?

  • Where did you get this? This is awesome. Have you tried Windows 3.1 on it?

  • @computerkid1416

I bought it on eBay. Win 3.1 doesn't run, because you need a EGA or VGA card to display the graphics. This computer has only a MDA card that can only display text/characters.

  • @AkaiUher and Windows 3.x requires at lest a 286 processor.

  • @AkaiUher

    this is sheat :D ...

  • it have windows 7? :)))

  • at first when you started that thing up i thought it's gonna turn into a transformer or possibly even blow up :D

  • can i play crysis with this

  • But...Will it Blend?

  • awesome wish to have one

  • Sounds like a tripod from when starts! can it shoot lasers too?!

  • umm...can i whatch youtube videos from there?

    xD

  • This computer was the first to wear the Pc Label

  • Hewlett Packard

  • HP 9830 -----i did a search on google apparenly this is the first desktop computer made in 1972 for scientists...

  • Fuck all the Windows 7-top notch of line graphics-Nvidia-ATI-multicore dipshits out there really. This is the real deal.

  • Do you speak both English and German?

  • @RileyRichardz

I'm from germany, so this is my mother language and I can speak a little english too.

  • lets see how that baby runs crysis 2

  • @boman4444

    :D

  • guys i have the same pc, can i run bf3 on it ?

  • zero the BRS! How i miss that saying.

  • can it run crysis?

  • @undefinedArray It can probably run Crysis, but Crysis 2 will be a lil sloppy xD

  • remind me of fallout 3:P

  • pitty its not working! What was wrong with it?

  • Heck, how can the monitor be so ugly!

  • why don't i hear the little steam engine rolling in there

  • @TheUnltimateCrafters Not me.. well at least not till 6 months ago.. Crysis 2 FTW

  • @SpartanKitteh0659 same here. i love crysis 2 on xb360

  • @SpartanKitteh0659 IDK abt dat! bt u can sure play Super Mario on it :-P

  • is there a wow torrent for this? lol jk

  • My dad bought one new the first year they released it for college. Still in my grandparents basement about 600 miles away :P i want it.

  • What can u do with it?

  • @Tobsn06

    Hallo,

in eBay ersteigert. Grüße, ebenfalls aus Deutschland :)

  • Can it run Crysis?

  • that is BIG floppy disk

  • Faster than windows vista.

  • @1xWertzui No, I mean Windows XP with 1.2 GHZ Processor. It was in our home like 7 years and then it started to eat itself xD Now we have a better one.

  • The first made computer was called Lisa!

  • ITS A COOL COMPUTER HAHAHHA i love it man

  • Wow you have a bunch of old big floppies!

I's sooo jealous too! Even in the local junk shops are just at least 5 years old PC stuffs sold in my country. I once saw an original IBM PC and big disks in my previous school's basement and now I blame myself that I didn't buy it because there was a water flood not too much later... It would be nice to have in my collection...

  • I'm so jealous,i had one like that before a decade,it was my first computer,i had no idea about how can i use it and i was feeling slurpy about a Windows 98 computer so i never really used it and you don't want to know what happened... Well it should be in a scrap yard now.

The problem is that i want one again badly and i can't find one,i'm sure i can find a place in my house for it.

For printing stuff and playing DOS Games is great and greater than the PC i'm currently using.

    I want one now!

  • I used one just like this.

  • this wasnt the first computer the first one was an altair 8800

  • @cmarshall1018

Sure it was not the firtst computer. It was only the first IBM PC. The Altair 8800 also wasn't the first computer. The first computers where built in the 1930s with relays or tubes.

  • @AkaiUher

The first computer was my fingers and human brain and cave walls.

  • @AkaiUher The first personal computers were built in 1969 by CTC. Many people don't know about CTC since it's been overshadowed by the Apple I and the popular Apple II.

  • @AkaiUher haha if you want to get realy tech with him you could say the term "computer" was recorded in 1613, referring to a person who carried out calculations, aswell as computations lol

  • @AkaiUher the first computer was invented in 300BC by the Inca tribe. Although it was not electronic in was an adding system that consisted of ropes that when tied in different ways (the input) would then create a knot telling the tribe the number which is represented by a knot (the output)

  • @cmarshall1018 acutuly the z3 was the first fully working computer in 1933 and it was made by Charles Babbage

  • What did people mainly use these computers for back then??

  • @Jeffrizel1986

For word processing and database management, for example. It could be also used as a terminal computer.

  • bet it,s worth more then my gaming pc:P

  • this ould play crysis maxed out with 100 fps?

  • @Swaggerboyyy

    And it's only on 1500 5 1/4"s. A technical marvel.

  • @Swaggerboyyy crysis v-(0.00000000000001) ? Probably :D

  • @Swaggerboyyy : Well if you put an EGA card into it, it may run Hovertank 3D and Catacomb 3D, early but true first person shooters...

  • i bet you can run WOW on the highest setting lol

  • That computer is very powerful. I mean, double 30 mb hard disk? Well, my computer (XP) Ran on with only 2 KB.

  • @FlameBacker405 XP? You mean IBM XT? And those used minimally 10 mb hard disks if I know it well

  • if you get an AST multifunction board, like the AST SixPack, it has a battery powered real time clock chip :) you could even sync it with the atomic clock on the internet :)

btw how come your drive A: is on the right hand side??? sacrilege! ;-) lol :)

  • @neutrino78x

The drives were built in by the preowner. I changed nothing on the computer.

  • I still have one of those...lol

  • This is a 5160 and not a 5150

  • @3ytc

    No, it's a 5150.

  • @AkaiUher It's a 5160 that was modified to look like a 5150, it happens very often. They go so far by replacing stickers, manuals, model numbers, tags, etc.

  • @3ytc

But the 5160 has eight ISA slots. The 5150 has only five. And mine has five too.

  • Nice Pc

  • i wonder what happens if you try to load window vista onto it. likely nothing

  • I've allways liked the form factor design of this machine. I have wanted to find a broken one and build a PC into it

  • first computer was created by Bulgarian

  • You typed the year "07". Is it 1907 or 2007 for Mr.IBM?

  • @Framework3006

    I typed "87". That's 1987 for the computer.

  • imagine what people were like back then and now:

1980s-"guess what dude! my PC has 640kb RAM." "whoa thats a killer system dude! mine's only 350kb."

1990s-"my OS is windows 98! try beating that man! it has 32MB ram!"

2000s-"i've got the best OS ever, WinXP. its got 512MB ram!" "wow! its greater than my Win98"

2010s-"wow WinVista has a sidebar. but the OS eats away all the RAM. i'd better get Win7..Wow! Win7 is so advanced!"

  • @olegario39 LOL and can you imagine what they'll be saying about computers 20 years from now compared to what we have today?

  • Reliquia!

  • wow a lot better than windows 7

  • can i play GTA4 in this??

  • Man, listen to that fucking thing start up! XD

I wish I had one, I would try to put Windows 95 on it lol If only I had the tech know-how to do that.

  • my first one was a zx 81 spectrum an eon ago....

  • worlds best gaming pc :)

  • @Sheldetin Don't confuse "computers" with "PCs". "PCs" sucked before windows 95. Computers kicked ass.

  • The boot up is faster then MS Windows Vista!

  • eu com um desse tavo rico e ia jogar muito gta

  • Even the most anoying sound in the world is there! The good old matrix printer! xD

But really wonderfull machine you got there. :D

  • where from you get it :O X-X O.o

  • Its amazing how far we've come in terms of computers. When you look at the super machines that gamers have and these, its unfathomable to think that we once used to actually USE these. But hey, you have to start somewhere

  • @TheGuitarkid15 It's funny, I am a gamer and recently got me a hardcore machine, and then someone gave me the second generation of the IBM PC in the video. Still trying to find some cords for the machine, but the monitor works just fine. I'm too young to remember the green lines scrolling down the screen in the 1980s, but it takes me back.

  • @blobloblo6 I know, alot of kids don't understand how things USED to work for PC's. If they were to get one, they wouldn't know WHAT to do with it,lol. I don't know, those machines, I couldn't stand to use one, takes too long,ha.

  • @TheGuitarkid15 I'm just fascinated by these things. First thing I'm doing when I get that thing running is to find out exactly what was on my dad's 5" floppy disk back from when he was in college.

  • @blobloblo6 Well, one thing is for sure, its not gonna be porn, lol. Get a Copy of Zork if you get a chance to, its really addicting.

  • @TheGuitarkid15 Okay, I'll try to get a copy. My father told me there was a cab file on there, I guess the only porn that could be there is either an erotic story or ascii boobs. :)
