I know having that happen to ur birdie must have been tough. I can tell u I have a green quaker Nitaru and I love him more then anything in the world, he is so smart and funny. I had my exs dog kill one of my puppies at 6 weeks old, bit a hole thru her windpipe. I still have the dog cause no one would let me take her to the pound but I think I might leave her here with my mom cause I don't trust her. also where did u get ur blue quaker cause I would love to get one.
I got Shinyu from a breeder couple in Beaumont, Texas. Their website is bayou bird nest . com (without the spaces; youtube's comment thing won't allow web addresses apparently =P) if you want to visit it and see their birds. They have a lot of different breeds, not just Quakers.
Thanks for showing your concern! I've recently taken over for my sister's bird, 'rescuing' her I should say. She wasn't being taken care of properly. So she is now my bird. I've been able to teach her a lot more too! She says "Chico!", "Chico, baby!" (something I say to her sometimes), and she makes various whistles, meows, and barks (living with a lot of other animals rubs off)! She's doing really well now too =D
My sister has a green one too. Shin wasnt very feisty unless she was with my sisters quaker. But thats cuz Chico can be very mean. I've been taking her and teaching her stuff tho. Kinda cuz Shin died... Anyway, they all just have their own personalities.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's very difficult to lose one of these sweet birdies. I recently lost mine to PTFE poisoning. Take care!
